They'll probably go the Spirit Guide route. Make him untamable, but let Hunters who have him keep him.

This is just a guess, but cant a person on the quest pull him out of the phased zone (Rivenwood) and then make the Hunter tame it. For people who already done the quest.

I was lucky to not have done it on my Hunter, so I got mine.

u cant do this cuz u both lose the sight buff and then no1 can see him witch is a real bummer I have done this quest:( (damn u jamie for ur lvling guide)

Not really, the buff is just part of the lore of the quest, I am pretty sure it uses the phasing mechanic, would be nice if someone would test it for the people who done the quest.

well I cant really be sure but that was what the guys on US forums said about phasing him out

No, it works exactly like Invisibility. You can see the mob only if you have the buff, and the mob can see only those players that have the buff.

I tamed one last night around 2 am with the help of some friends.

Long story short--if he gets struck as the tame finishes, so that he says his phrase as it ends, he will turn into a worgen as he is tamed. Too early a hit and he'll turn wolf again, too late and he'll stay wolf. He shows up as a white worg (NR model) in the character select screen and stable. He is classed as a wolf, with wolf abilities; his fighting sounds (save furious howl) are all worgen.

I do hope they let me keep mine. I was so grateful for my friends coming out and doing the chain just to help me tame him; I've named him Raznos ("Friend" from orc-> alliance).

EDIT. Can I abandon the Alpha Worg -quest and still keep the pet?

I have only heard rumors that it does form back to normal wolf when entering arena

the reason it would do this is that arena clears all debuffs/buffs on u and the worg from is said to be an invisible buff/debuff.

bah, all this cool stuff always seem to be unavailable to me.
I hope they fix it and remove your worgen pets simply because I can't get it!

Short version:

If you haven’t done the Horde, Alliance quest – You can tame Garwal in his Worgen form.

Get Wyvern Sting. It does about 19% damage by itself over 6 secs, and sleeps for 30.

1) Find him.
2) Hurt him until he is approx 67-69% health.
3) Wyvern sting him.
4) Wait till there is 14 secs left on Wyvern sting.
5) At 14 secs left, cast tame beast.
6) If done right, right as your tame ends, he will have just transformed.

Does it change back once you're out of arena, or are you then stuck with a white wolf?
And has anyone tested long-term stabling of the pet? (a few hours, with another pet out, logged off etc)
Death doesn't change him back, that much I can tell you.

Now I'm gonna QQ that I did all the quests on my way to 80. Grats for the lucky hunters who were able (they'll surely hotfix it) to tame it though.

He looks gorgeous! :P Caught him after 3 tries.

He's a wolf in every aspect, talents + skills. Just a different skin.
