It has come to our attention that a small number of EU players are affected by an issue caused by having a Battle.net account associated with the US rather than Europe. Some players may be experiencing difficulty accessing the game and account services during US maintenance (Tuesday afternoons, EU time). Most players are unaffected, but if you have been experiencing any issues related to this, please check the FAQ below.

  • I play World of Warcraft on European realms - if I have a Battle.net account associated with the US rather than Europe, how will I be affected?
  • You may be unable to log in to the game at certain times, not only during the European weekly maintenance on Wednesdays, but also during the US weekly maintenance on Tuesdays. As well as being potentially unable to log in to the game during this time, you may also be unable to access any service which requires you to log in. This includes Account Management (and associated paid or free character services), the Blizzard Store, Armory and Forums. Also, you will most likely be unable to access the European Public Test Realms at any time.
  • I don’t know if my Battle.net account is associated with the US or Europe. How can I find out if I will be affected?
  • If you are experiencing the issues mentioned in the first answer, and you are in Europe, then it is likely you have a US Battle.net account. You can contact the Billing team (see below) who will help you confirm this and find a solution.
  • I play World of Warcraft mostly on European realms, so should my Battle.net account be European?
  • If you mostly play on European realms then you should also create a European Battle.net account to avoid experiencing any potential issues.
  • Why might my account be associated with the US and not Europe?
  • Most likely you created your Battle.net account via a link to the Battle.net site intended for US players rather than Europe. The US Battle.net site’s address is prefixed with “us.” instead of “eu.“
  • How can I change my Battle.net account to be European?
  • You will need to contact our Billing team in Europe. To do this, please see the details in the last answer, below.
  • I play World of Warcraft on realms in both Europe and the US, so what should I do?
  • If you are experiencing the issues mentioned above, then you should ensure your Battle.net account is associated with the region you play in the most. So if you mostly play in Europe, you may prefer to ensure your Battle.net account is European. If you are not experiencing the issues mentioned above, this is most likely already the case and you do not need to do anything further.
  • How can I contact the Billing team in Europe?
  • You can contact them via the phone (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/support/accountbilling.html) or by using the web-form (http://eu.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml?locale=en_GB)

    If using the web-form, to ensure a quick resolution please do the following:

    1. Select World of Warcraft as the product, select Other as the category.
    2. Type US Battle.net Account Issue in the “specify” box.
    3. Other than the required fields, please provide either
    a. Your full World of Warcraft Authentication key.
    or
    b. Your secret question and answer.

If you are contacting us by phone, please have the information ready so your account can be verified immediately.

when i called and was on hold for 30mins+ they told me they could not help me!! ppl were working on the issue but no idea when it is fixed.

if there is some abnormal issue that they are working on they cant fix it faster just cause you called.. really.

I can see what you mean now though this post is 5 days old. Maybe it worked before todays misshapp during maintenance.

2 weeks in a row batle.net account fail after restart server i cant play on my main server (emeris)
why it takes so long that can i login to my server it like 4 to 6 hours after rest of the normal accounts
plz help

Mine is a EU battle.net account (im 99% sure of it anyway) and I can't get past the log in screen.

Enter email and PW as normal, np's- enter authenticator np's..then success box with "cancel" comes up..as in waiting to connect to char select...stuck here for 15 mins

Ive been trying too log in since yesterday, and iam just getting "Unable too connect", and "Login server down". Then i merged my battle.net account with this one, and now i can login. But i cant go into any servers. It starts too load a server, then it just quits too the server selection screen. Please help :] *And i have made it EU as i play mostly on EU servers.*

I got an e-mail today and says that one of my accounts (which i dont use right now) merged with a battle.net account which belongs to someone else!!! I cannot log in to the site! Says that I should log in with my battle.net account! I DONT HAVE BATTLE.NET ACCOUNT! And i tried to contact about this hacking issue but e-form wants my scanned photo ID, lots of detailed information about my account that i dont remember now. By the way, although I get an e-mail about merging my wow acc with battle.net, e-mail starts with "Hello dsafwe, " ???? Its not my name??? I cant retrieve my password because site says "you cannot get your password because it merged with battle.net account".

WHAT SHOULD I DO? If i cant find a solution i will totally quit this game... I am tired of this security issues.

This might seem a bit harsh but, thats totally your fault and not theirs.

Your account information is in the hands of someone else that probably is
1. A keylogger
2. A friend trying to be funny
3. Responded to a fake email with your info.

Run a scan on your PC as a start and then see if you got a keylogger, and check remember if you've ever send an email with your acc info to the so called "Blizzard company".

To get your account back, contact blizzard and do what they tell you to do. So you need to send a copy of your ID and the rest you mentioned and if you don't remember something, then just explain it to them.

If you find that troublesome, have fun in real life.

i got some wierd <html> problem and it freaks me out my friend tried to login with his account on my pc which is not merged with battle.net and it works for him and my acc is with eu.battle.net and it gives me the <html> problem what am im paying for im losing EPIX now fix it blizz

Same here...my character's name is Battleguard (ally) from neptulon and i haven't played with him since may. i also sended a mail but i writed my info for my card 'cause i didn't have any picture....anyway don't know what is happening and what is this battle net stuff but i hope someone gives me smoe help on how to get my acc back...... :S

Im only having problems with PTR login, could that be a US account? I created it in europe, with european disks, with european codes, with european credit card. Could it be possible its still a US account?

WRONG my cousin has this exact problem on an apple imac. they are told by battlenet in the form of an an email that their acount is being merged with a battle net acount which they do not own one. they have not acount shared and this problem has come all of a sudden. there are a number of people with this same issue. how can it be resolved?

I have a the same problem!
When i try to merge, ti get a message that the account is already in use by an another account !
And i can't even remember to have creating an another account!
And also, my friend have not done anything of the battle.net thing yet ...
Why me ?

My Friend got hacked and then the person who hacked him installed Battlenet and when he tried to get password back by using the Wow page it saids that the account is binded to a blizzard account so he couldnt get the pass back. you guys have a idea what to do?

I am now unsure to wether i want to merge with my battle.net ccount or not now when i see that almost every1 here on this thread has such horrible problems.... but ill give it a shot.

Although i do have a problem and that is that both me and my brother used to play World of Warcraft and now its just me. But we still have both games and we do not know wich battlebox (we bought two) belongs to wich one of us... So i was wondering, is there any way that Blizzard would know how to check these things or if i can merge with my Wotlk game code?
