Hi there, my shiny-loving-gorloc

I have a few questions.

Will the encounters be buffed on the live servers?

Right now the instance feels easier than Ulduar even though it's a higher tier. Now I'm aware that you have decided to make all content accesible to all players, but at the very least it should still get at least slightly harder as we progress through the content, and certainly not easier.
I can only guess why this is so, but my guess would be that you found the normal version of Ulduar still to hard for the casuals and therefore decided to easen it up.
My hope is there will be extremely challenging hard modes, however most of the fights don't seem to lend themselves to really hard hard modes.

Are you aware that calling a staff Perdition might cause unease with the christian players?

No, really, I know someone who went berserk about it. It took me all my rethorical skill and tricks to convince him it isn't some form of blasphemy or whatever.

The following question has been asked before, but I'll ask it again, this way we might get a larger shot at getting a proper response.

Why is there no trash?

It's a coliseum. It would be very easy as well as interesting to implement some sort of wave-like trash in between the bosses. I.e. you enter and adds come out of the gates and get progrssively harder as you reach harder bosses. Various could things could be done with that, ****, you could even do something with siege vehicles there.
It's just that a raid instance without any trash doesn't really feel like a raid. Trash is not something that's to be wiped upon, although it would be fun if that was possible, but slim chance nowadays, it is however something that has been in every raid instance so far. Us raiders were raised with it so to say.
To be frank, I don't see any reason why there shouldn't be any trash.

There are a few more, if I can remember them I'll edit this post.

If you have more questions to ask, please do so at your soonest convenience as we will be compiling and sending these shortly. Kinda surprised we've only 2 pages so far -- but I guess that means you won't be saying your surprised or disappointed when the resultant Q&A is missing questions you feel are important, right? ;-)

Well, I think the problem with Q&A's is, a problem which we've discovered in the recent Class Q&A series, is that a lot of the relevant questions ofter are not getting answered. Maybe the community is somewhat giving up hope in the competence of the answerbots. (Admitted, I have no proof of that etc, but it's kinda how it feels when I read these forums)

Next, this new patch isn't all that extensive if you look at it so perhaps there aren't too many questions to ask( especially if it's limitted to only the instance and the IoC).

Another reason could be that we have somewhow submitted ourselves to the direction this game has chosen to lead. I.e. a game where the developpers realised that they had a wide audience in 2005 and decided to milk it out to increase the audience as much as possible.
Yes, I could start blurting out questions on why this patch proves again that the game is in fact leading that direction, but perhaps people are leaving out those questions because they already realise how it is.

Oh, and as to, "but I guess that means you won't be saying your surprised or disappointed when the resultant Q&A is missing questions you feel are important, right? ;-)"

This is the WoW forums. It doesn't matter what you say, my crocolisk friend, people will always be surprised, disapointed and happily flame about things, even if the answers are right in front of them or even if the possiblity has been given in a thread like this to avoid it.

With kind regards,
Mikoto

P.S. I'm not really sure why the hell I wrote this in a thread like this, call it impulsiveness?

I'm awesome.

2 Isle of Conquest questions:

If I remember correctly there were plans to add new features to the battleground queuing system as more BGs are added to the game, so that you can queue for game type, instead of a specific battleground. So like you want to play "Resource gathering" and you would be queued for AB and EOTS.

Seeing how each new battleground mixes elements from the previous ones as well as adds new, I was wondering where IoC would fit in and if this plan is still a possibility.

---

When jumping out of the zeppelin, it's very easy to mess up where you land, because the height is difficult to measure by eye and the angle at which you fall with the parachute's slowfall effect can cause you to land far away from your target. Is this intentional? Would it be possible to change the falling angle from ~45 degrees to ~75 which is closer to how parachutes work in reality?

3 Crusaders' Coliseum questions:

Will there be multiple difficulty settings for each/any boss in the separated heroic difficulty raid instances? (Like how Sartharion has +1 drake, +2 drake, +3 drake...), or just a single version (like Mimiron or XT). If no, why was it decided against?

---

The Naxxramas version of the Immortal achievement was all bosses, first try that week, no player deaths. The Ulduar version (Champion/Conqueror of Ulduar) allowed progress on this achievement by the boss, however the best chance to do this achievement is on the normal difficulty of the bosses, where players would have to give up phat loot. Not surprising that the achievement isn't popular, only about a dozen guilds completed the 25man version in 3 months. If there's an Immortal type achievement for the Crusaders' Coliseum, are there any plans to change back the system to the original version? Is there going to be an Immortal type achievement (the point being that the raid is "punished" for player death, making it hard to get) or the Realm First! Grand Crusader feat of strength (which is now available on the PTR patch files) is the replacement for it? If yes, why was the "player death" part scrubbed and replaced with raid wipes?

---

May be offtopic, but I want to ask nevertheless. The Sunreavers / The Silver Covenant play a big part in organizing the Argent Tournament. Are there any upgrades (quests or anything) coming to their completely unused basecamps in Crystalsong Forest?

Thanks

I was wondering about how hard Crusaders' Coliseum raid would be compared to the previous 25man (no longer HC) raids? Is normal mode gonna be on the level of non-hardmode Ulduar for example?

Q u o t e:
As most guilds are still on Ulduar, this is, i think a short instance, made longer by four different difficultis, as a small sideline, if you are a hardcore raider do not despair, for i think that they are busy working on making Icecrown citadel an amazing and hard raid. This is somthing quickly churned out to keep players occupied for a little longer.

The questions I'm interested in have been asked on the us versions of this thread, and are the questions which I'm fairly sure won't be answered. However, on the off chance that including them here in some way bumps up their relevance I'll list them.

Q u o t e:
How long will the new instance Last on a farm night?

Wasn't the purpose of creating IoC to satisfy the players' desire for a more lengthy, epic battleground? If so, why are the battles taking 15-20 minutes?

What is the internal reaction of the 130+ pages T9 thread? (and is it likely to have any impact on future decisions)

Why does it feel that the difficulty of this Coliseum is going to be less than Ulduar?
How do you compare Ulduar 25 normal-modes progression with Coliseum 25 normal?
In which gear can you do Coliseum 25 normal?
Can you give me your comparison about the step Nax -> Ulduar and Ulduar -> Coliseum?

What is there to ask? Coliseum is Ring of Blood with bigger bosses, Isle of Conquest may as well be called Alterac WIntergrasp.

You are seriously destroying the classic progression path. It should be higher ilvl = harder content. As it is now Ulduar can be skipped. Congrats on destroying the game. If you do care about the community listen to it for ones. Their isn't even a single post with positive feedback from this patch. What use is the feedback if you dont listen? And you still ask yourselves why their is only 2 pages... You are more incompetent then the majority of the player base.

Q. Exactly how many tries will we have each week in the heroic version?

Q. Will there be new 310% mounts or other lasting rewards from The Coliseum in 3.2?

Crusaders' Coliseum questions:

It seems each major content patch that brings a new raid instance, also brings a new way to buy items off vendors. Sunwell had Sunmotes, WotLK raids so far had varying amounts of gear buyable for Emblems and now it seems the Crusaders' Coliseum has Trophies of the Crusade and universal armor tokens (that are limited by class only, not specific for armor slots). What were the reasons for the change, what problems does this new system solve, what problems can arise from it?

---

What were the criterias for selecting the memories that Argent Confessor Paletress may summon? Why were these particular NPCs selected?

---

Usually the boss rooms vary a lot in raidinstances, but in the Crusaders' Coliseum every single encounter is limited to a ~50 yard circle. How did this affect boss encounter design?

---

Each new tier 9 set features the name of a significant lore figure of the same class and faction. What is the deal with the Hunter set? I understand the horde version is for Sylvanas while the Alliance version is for Alleria or Vareesa, but this ought to confuse a lot of people. What was the reason for choosing from this family purposely for both versions of the set?

---

How does raid lockout extension effect raids in the Crusaders' Coliseum where each boss is activated 1 week after the other. If I extend my second week reset (with a boss in it already killed) to the third week and kill the second boss in the extended timeframe (thus relocking myself), can I face the newly activated boss after it? Unlikely scenario I know, but that's not the point. Is the newly activated boss available to a raid ID that was created when that boss was not yet available?

---

What was the reason for upgrading Val'anyr to a higher itemlevel? Something like this has never been done. Another way to ask this question: what was the reason for giving such a huge upgrade with the Coliseum (raid)loot (thinking about ilevel 258), if that can cause Ulduar hard mode loot (and even the legendary weapon) to be devalued a lot? What was wrong with the previous system where 25man hard mode loot of tier x would be the same level as 25man normal loot of tier x+1? Now the jump seems twice that.

Thanks

Hey Mr. Wannabe-developer!

People like you shouldn't be allowed to have fun. Or socialize with other human beings for that matter. We should put you all on a little island far away and have you stay there until you invent the time machine so you can go back in time and alter your sad childhoods so you might have grown up into a respectable human being.

That said.

..

No, I don't even know where to start with you. Just..

Don't post here again. Ever. Please. Now I have to go re-fill my tolerance for morons again! Damn you for making me do this!

Did I hurt you "causal" feelings?
According to armory you have cleared ulduar, can you honestly say that you thought it was so hard that the next tier needed to be dumbed down to naxx level again? If your answer is yes, why do you even play the game?

If there is no trash in the coliseum, would there be any way to generate soul shards before boss encounters?

Is there any way to fight back against air attacks in Isle of Conquest? For instance destroying the cannons or immobilising plays on the airships.

Isle of Conquest seems to be over far too quickly. Are there any plans to optionally extend the pvp instance?
