Now that everyone has had a chance to check out the new art for druid cat and bear forms, we'd like to share with you the current break down of tauren skin tones and night elf hair colours associated with each form colour.     TC, not sure if your status as a forum moderator gives you the ability to contact any developers or not, but regardless here goes nothing;

    1) Why does the Night Elf cat form have a collar? It makes it look domesticated. Also the collar itself is ugly - 3 dangling bits will be clipping on everything. I'm willing to bet that they'll even clip on the paws when the cat is attacking.

    2) Why a pink tint on 4/5 of the new Night Elf cat textures? Isn't that over-doing it? I mean, honestly, I don't even know what to think. Everyone has been waiting for so long, you'd think that more thought would be put into these new ones... so why this? Wouldn't it make more sense to use more gender neutral colours since both genders will be sharing the form?

Also note that Night Elf druids are supposed to be predominantly male anyway - why then cater for the other? The colour range could have been better as well; Night Elves in this game have skins that range from purple, to reddish, to green, to blueish. Quite a range on hair colour as well. I don't see how this is reflected at all in those skins.

Been using the same hair colour on this character since I made her back in vanilla-wow. That's blue, and I think I will be sticking to it, in the beginning at least. I still think this is a very poor implementation of customisation.

i dont have much complain about the night elf cat form. it is pretty good. espicially the new added face tatoo for night cat and nose ring for tauren cat are really nice. they enhace the racial feature besides the long ears for night elves and horns for taurens.

and whats wrong with the new collar and the jewel? it looks good, and the glowy thing fits night elf. people complain the old form too simple. and now complain the new form too decorated. hehe

what i really dont understand is the gender. Even a 3 year old kid knows animals have males and females. Why the hell males and females are the same in cat / bear form? bears and cats are animals, and animals have sexes. Why this can not be done? i dont see how this is hard for blizzard dev.

'till now i still had some hopes of making some cool colour combinations but it isnt menat to be (for now?). tho i am very pleased with the new looks and the possibility for different furcolours, it is the implementation that is VERY poor indeed!. it all just feels like a cheap and quick fix. the whole idea of tying furcolour to haircolour/skintone based is far to RP to my taste. blizz made some comment earlier this would have a more "real" feeling to it fails terribly, there is no need for it since the rest of the game is pure fantasy to start with (bi-pedal cows?, carrying tons of ore in your backpack? etc.). i dread the day when moonkin/travel/tree/flight/aquatic too will have the same colourscheme as cat and bear :(
apart from this i think the NE colourschemes on a whole have far too much pink in it.

so PLEASE blizzard rethink the process of choosing furcolour and let us choose any colour we want independant of haircolour/skintone or furcolour of another form.

Im sorry but i fail to see in what planet the middle cat is purple..... My char hair is purple.... the old cat form model is purple..... THE MIDDLE CAT ASSOCIATED WITH MY PURPLE HAIR IS NOT FREAKING PURPLE. Seriously not only the new cat form skins suck compared to the old one ( talking strickly about NE cat forms here , tauren do look cool ) but you ALSO fail at associating cat skin colors with hair colors ??!?? Seriously are you hiring color blinds for artists ??!!??

No, but it seems stylistically they dont want to go that route, i personally feel tying your forms to your normal hair/fur colour is a great way of making your druid forms feel more like they belong to you rather than being generic.

Because your method would very soon see brown cows transforming into white bears and black cats, and i much prefer the more intuative "I'm a black Tauren, therefore i will have black forms" method.

I will admit the system doesnt seem to work as well for Night elves, as some of the forms dont look very close to either their matching bear form or the hair colour they are matched to, but this is a problem with the implimentation of the idea, not the idea itself which i feel is rock solid, and better than your suggestion.

The middle cat has purple hair, but pink fur on the body. So I guess there's your justification.

I think it's important to see the new forms as what they are: a range of new models and skins that you can choose from in some way. Let's not forget that Druids have been requesting new or re-worked forms for a very long time, and now they are almost here.

Rather than potentially delaying their release by working on new or updated functions for the barbershop, we've instead got a simple way of choosing which of the new models you want. This seems to me to be a first step, much like the appearance of the barbershop with the initial selection of new hairstyles was. Now that the first step is about to be made for new forms, who knows what we might do in the future to allow Druids to choose from these models in a way other than how we currently intend to implement them.

Seems more important, at least in my eyes, that the new forms are no longer in the "new forms is something we would like to do sometime" status, and have now actually been seen by the community and are much closer to actually being in-game than ever before.

Personally, even though my Druid isn't feral, I'm still quite pleased new models are coming.

So if I get this right this means that only Nelf druids can change their forms by changing their hair colour but Tauren druids can't? Or will Taurens be able to change their skin color at the barber shop as Nelf druids can change their hair colour there?

The problem with that is that the first step took years to arrive; so I kinda wanted it to be good the first time around, because judging by what seem to be the priority status on making these forms(very low)... I fear that the second step might take just as long.
