I'm not going to c/p everything here, because a blue will do that anyway and close this thread and give me a cookie. But for those who really want to read it, there you have it.

Now I didn't feel all that "represented" among the questions, but I liked the part about Spellsteal.

And remember!

Q u o t e:
Mages also retain some unique tools, such as the town portals and the (ahem) food and beverage service.

Great! Only two weeks (9 days between shaman-mage) and we can get ours too. Hopefully some of them will be useful.

I appreciate the time taken for it, however... It wasn't entirely worth the read =/

Someone on the US forums said it best , its just a "bunch of generalized crap" . There is not a single proper answer to any question.

EDIT: shaman was poor, but at a much higher standard than the mage one. The rest'll be of the same poor quality except maybe the paladin and warlock ones

Here is the best answer in the Mage QA lol :

" but in this case we think the mage is in a good place and it’s the warlock that we want to move slightly farther away. We’ll talk more about the locks soon, but we need to focus them even more on mechanics like shards and demons. "
in other words:
mages are fine but locks are not so we're buffing them

It felt like a collection of crap we have heard over and over and over and over. I want to do mean and terrible things to the dev team. At least we get our mana use improved in pve. That counts for something i guess.

Spell steal thing was cool.

At least killing people with pala takes some skill. Shamans just smash one button near cliffs

Q u o t e:

That doesn’t mean that you never need to burn a gem or use Evocation, but it does mean that if you are being reasonable about what you’re doing that you should have enough mana except perhaps on very long or unusual fights

And then....

Q u o t e:

Also note that fixing some mage mana issues might make some of the mana talents feel less mandatory.

O...k....then

All in all this Q&A was just what I expected (whitewash) after looking over the Shaman one.

If you expect absolutely nothing then the Mage Q&A will be one of the best reads of your life.

I started off feeling like making a critique of every line and by the end realised it's just the disinterested ramblings of someone who neither plays nor particularly cares about the class.

I am wondering if I will get game time credit for reading it tbh.

I felt like doing that but it's just depressing to get proof that they frankly do not care about mages and that any and all sorts of criticism (wether it be genuinenly constructive or just plain ol' QQ) are in fact going to be utterly ignored.

I sincerely wish that anyone of them would finally ding that mage alt they've been forgetting about since vanilla, so that we could finally have some sort decent game play. I'm talking on par with other classes, not that doing things just as well or even better than some other classes, all the while knowing you are handicapped, isn't rewarding, but it would be a welcomed change to finally be wanted for the utility that my class brings to the game.

Conclusion: Depressing.

its pretty obvious that noone cares about this class anymore, 0 changes in what 3 months and now a Questions and Answers thread that didnt really answer any real questions..

and no more people that says "mages are fine" please, you people are either retarded or clueless, until you get a clue, dont post.

i got a couple of questions right here about raiding in ulduar:

1. why do mages have almost 0 utility pve compared to warlocks?
2. why do mages have lower dps than warlocks?
3. why do mana gems and evocation suck compared to lifetap in pve?
4. why do warlocks have 4k more hp and soul link survival in raids while mages are weak as hell in heavy aoe fights?
5. whats the point in taking a mage to a raid when you can take a warlock that does everything better?

i compare with warlocks since both mages and warlocks are cloth users and both are pure dps, they can easily replace each other in raids. and right now the only smart thing to do is to replace mages with warlocks since warlocks are so much better.

like someone said in response to that Q/A: "WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT A TUNIC?!" this class got some real issues, time to deal with them for once.

I was rather frustrated after reading the Q/A post and all the posts made (first 12 pages atleast).

I'm left here with so many thoughts and SO many things to write, state and ask... But I'm gonna say this and be like any other person who just lost their brain and couldn't say anything usefull:

Fellow mages, we have lost!

I might end up making an insanely long, frustrated and most likely angry(?) post with my aspects of this entire situation "we" are in. But it's an uphill battle. Sorry blizzard, ghostcrawler and other ppl from higher above. But you slack!

The developers seem to think that fire mages love crit over everything else and that it's a problem.

However:

- Fire/TTW scales with all stats and has more room to take hit rating.
- Fire mage DPS still scales better with haste than crit, although mana can be an issue for fire and the scaling difference isn't huge (like it is for frost and arcane).
- Arcane, frost and frostire go over the hit cap too easily and have no DPS talents to shift those points to. You can buy some "flavor" with your excess hit rating, but that doesn't help you keep up with DPS scaling.
- Mage PvP gear is totally outdated and lacks a haste set.

Some things that show that developers are not in touch with the mage class:

- If developers think fire mages like crit too much, why are they making ignite generate mana in 3.2? Is it meant to be an AOE mana regen mechanic?
- What's that thing in the questions about frost mages actually liking intellect? Mana can be a problem in PvP, but intellect is an awful stat in both PvP and PvE for frost mages.

My advice to Blizzard class developers: find some players who really understand how mages work and have a long chat with them. GC keeps insisting that Blizzard has great experts on all classes, but several things in the Q&A show that you lack a mage expert. Get some outside help if your internal resources fail you.
