I'm having a problem where I can't do the fishing daily as everywhere I try and fish I'm getting the error in the subject.

I've tried relogging and removing addons, to no avail. Is anybody else having this issue/know what could be causing it?

I've opened a ticket, but as that takes time I wanted to see if anybody had any ideas.

Well, the obvious first... are you standing near a body of fishable water? For most waters you should be standing so your feet are almost in the water, though in certain places you may need to actually walk a bit into the water.

Also, are you trying to fish in very narrow rivers or streams? If you are, your casts will usually go past the water and land on the other side.

No, this is fishing anywhere, I have done a little more investigation - first noticed this on my rogue, so brought down my DK to try, he can't cast for any landmasses, including floating pieces of ice, but if I cast Path of Frost, I can stand on the water right next to the place I was standing on land, and it works perfectly. Chatted in local, other people are having same issue needing to use water walking elixir/path of frost.

If youve killed ahune lately, try removing your gear and drowning.

Now that's just mean, No I haven't killed Ahune, not on my DK atleast.

No, i was serious, theres a known bug that prevents certain actions after killing ahune and being affected by a debuff during the fight, killing yourself removes that bug.

Fair enough, well I haven't killed him on my DK and he has the issues, also haven't killed him since first day on my Rogue and not had any problems. Cheers and all that Jazz, guess I wait for my ticket to be answered with "this is a known bug blah blah blah...".

also having problems with trying to fish and i am near water maxed out fishing and even got my fishing pole equipped but still bugged have put a ticket in a gm but still waiting so your not alone

Having this issue aswell, have not killed Ahune, so its not that, tried without add ons still same.

Cannot see point in raising a ticket as its an issue affecting a few people, people that have already raised tickets will have made them aware of the issue as will this thread

well i did some testing,it seems its the hight detection that is messed up. i can fish from the pond in dalaran,if i fly down to the small lake below dalaran it wont work,unless i stand into the water,then it perfektly works,it is however completly impossible to fish from lake indu'le ice shores,as you cant put a foot into the water there,however the few spots that offer the chance to stand into the water work again as well.

It's a year since I last killed Ahune.

I cant fish from dry land anymore... have to stand IN the water to fish...

I have tried the delete WtF folders... and no go....

Having the same problem. Water walking elixir enabled me to do the daily but I cannot fish without getting my feet wet!

EDIT - with regards to Ahune, I did kill him yesterday but I died stealing the Silvermoon flame last night.

Having the same issue here. I did manage to finish the Bait Bandits one in Terokkar, though I had great trouble finding a spot to fish in the rivers too. The Monsterbelly one is impossible for me, seemingly.

Edit: Water walking elixirs did help for me, but still.
