It has come to my attention that there are a handful of druids out there who have reached level 80 and have begun conquering the end-game content, but have not yet gotten their Swift Flight forms. If you have played your druid for that long, it seems to me you should have come to terms with what it means to be a druid and the high demands and expectations we have on us. I find it utterly unacceptable that any druid has allowed themselves to reach 80 without first going through the necessary procedures of achieving Artisan Riding skill. What's more than that, I have learned that some druids purchased their Swift Flight forms from the trainer instead of finishing the quest line, like any truly druidic individual would. We are one of the few classes who get this useful rewards from quests, and on top of that, it's a rather fun quest. Yet, seemingly, some individuals who dare call themselves druids, thereby mocking the pureblooded druids who have chosen to follow our, though unofficial, code of druidism by trying to achieve as much as possible and reach up to the impossibly high set expectations we suffer.

Now, why did this wall of text just crit you for 2k? Because I'm of the firm belief that Blizzard should make it a bannable offence to level your druid to 80 without getting Artisan riding. It should also be bannable to obtain the skill by purchasing it from the druid trainers instead of via the quest. If a permanent ban seems a tad too harsh I suggest maybe changing the offenders classes to something more fitting for them since they don't reach the druid standards, maybe Death Knights would be appropiate for them.

Sincerely Hasselhooves

I am prepared to agree to the fullest extent of the law.
- This indeed is an abomination upon the very community we so long have tried to keep remote to the ones like these, outcasts, if I may.

Ye shall'nt name yourselves beings of the druidic nature if thou cannot withhold our unwritten laws of walking the uneasy path. - When you can in fact make it alot more painstaking and miserably for yourself.
It's in our blood. To do so.

Did the SFF quest twice now. Looking forward to doing it the third time when my Hordie druid gets up to 70.

And don't worry. While not a bannable offence, the Druids that haven't obtained the Artisan riding skill are punished, in the way that their Flight Form is constantly chained to a giant invisible stone of shame, making their speed frustratingly unbearable!

If you haven't been contacted in-game by our representatives, I'm afraid I can't divulge the information contained within the code, as you have apparently not yet met our standards.

I can only let you in on our first rule, to hope you better yourself.

"Rule 1"
There's only one rule in druidism. And that is that there are many rules. Though the first rule is, you shall'nt slay another druid. Unless of course said druid is of the Night Elf persuasion and is attempting to hit on you by poking his ear at your "body parts". Yes, his. And by "body parts" we mean nostril. They're creepy.

Are you serious? You gotta be kidding me. I'm not getting the swift flightform simply because I don't need it and I don't want to spend 5k G on it. I barely fly at all, so tell me what's the shame of not getting it? People do what they want, they do what fits them, let them be.

I am gladdened to hear that I am within the proper druidic guidelines. I do not have swift flight form yet but am nearing the prerequisites and will be done well before lvl 80.

And here is a prood example of such people that have no idea of what a druid really is or sarcasm as a matter of fact.

Then again this one is of the type of druids with the weird nostrils so anything should be expected really :p

It is unheard of that FOTM rollers do not accept the unspoken rules of Druidism!
or even 'Reel Durids' that ignore them!
brothers and sisters, bovines and elfs, revolt!

I don't care about roleplaying.... kkthx i'll do whatever the hell i want... >_>

It's not as much roleplaying as a distinct lack of respect for the class and the community that's grown up around it.

A lot of us take much pride in both.

I've always stuck with my druid, it's my only character that's precious to me, the only one that's felt worth playing compared to the other classes. Especially in this time of mainstreaming and class butchering, the druid is one of the most important ones of all with its diversity.

So maintaining the interest in the flight quest is important, because we want more things like that, as many as possible.

Fangs and claws are forever my chosen weapons.
Unless I happen to be out of an animal form, then I'll just crush you with my mace.

Q u o t e:

"Lack of respect for the druid class" this makes as mutch sense as me saying "you need to be hybrid specced else you don't respect the druid class!".

No? I don't see the relevance. One is a quest line carefully designed for druids on how their class works, the other is a irrelevant spec.

Q u o t e:
Facts? I think only the RP'ers care about this crap.

It's obvious for anyone who's been here long, but your druid is from when, 07?
It's funny how most people that speak about the community don't even have a pvp-rank from vanilla..

Wow.
So many druids with either a guilty conscience or no sense of humour.

Anyway:
Make Flight Form look like a dodo.
That should encourage druids to do the right thing.

Let me guess you are 14 and still have to learn to be cool and chilled. Take life a bit easier, especially the virtual one.
