It is quite obvious from the amount of threads on these forums that a lot of players have feelings (both good and bad) about the changes to 2v2 in patch 3.2.0. We understand that, and would like to provide a place for all of you to voice your feedback in without completely cluttering up the forums with multiple threads about the same thing.

We ask that you use this thread for sharing your feedback on the changes to 2v2 in 3.2.0 in a calm and constructive manner, leaving behind trolling, insulting and otherwise foul language posts that are of no value and will not amount to anything other than earning you a vacation from these forums. Opening even more threads on this topic will only result in thread locks and other moderation actions where needed.


Q u o t e:
The newest season of Arena gear can only be purchased if you meet the requirements with your 3 or 5 player team rating. Rating requirements from 2 player teams can still be used to purchase the previous season of gear.

For reference, a snippet from the patch notes detailing the change has been quoted above.

Seriously though? it is bad for me.

I enjoy 2v2 hugely but part of this enjoyment comes from the success and us working to inprove my team. also i have played with the same guy in 2v2 for the last 2-4 years (since tbc release) and yes my MMR is low but try playing a shaman in 15k hp...

IMO i totally understand why you as blizzard made this change but that doesnt mean i agree with it. Getting a functioning 3v3 where all your team is on the same skill lvl is not easy at all, let alone then improving it. Also i find 2v2 to be a very clean bracket to play and games can be changed effectively just by yourself. This is why most pvp videos are shown from 2v2

Also i dont believe 3v3 is more balanced than 2v2. there is still 4 classes there largely underrepresented compared to others just like in 2v2. Lets look at setups? well RMP is totally dominating and cleave isnt far behind.

Also youd think mages are balancedi n 3v3 due to their near 10% representation high up, but they are not, all these mages are in RMP, so (since 5v5 is dead) your are on the brink of forcing mages to play one setup

5v5 is horrible, far to much burts its just daft.

Also since my main is a lock i believe you are forcing me into specs i dont enjoy. Affliction is useless in 3v3 and hardly OP in 2v2. However now 2v2 is useless to pvp as affliction ill be forced to pvp first as destruction... not to mention that would require 3 specs (i have one pve and one pvp spec).

So i hope you see for me this is virtually destroying pvp on my lock. I have been affliction since day one and have never not been it (didnt even go SL/SL) and so this is devastating

As a raider I do not like the change as I do 2v2 after raids or on occasional offnights, getting a 3v3 together with other people I know, who are all raiders is not an easy task.

There is also the problem of 3v3 being dominated by RPM and cleave. Where does this leave the others?

I've tried to be as constructive and positive throughout the topics here while expressing my disagreement with the changes.To avoid repeating myself again...

I cant speak for everybody but it seems like many players dont support this change(forums,in-game) and really i haven't heard much complains about the gear be easier to attain for some classes in 2v2.Sure its not completelly fair,but should they massacre 2v2 for that? in my opinion NO

Personally, I didnt play arena since half a year, now.
I use to be one of the few people, who prefer 5v5 over the other brackets, so I welcome this change (and also the resilience-change) to hopefully get some life back into 5s, which will also make me playing arena, again.

Terrible, completely unnecessary change.

Many players enjoy doing 2v2 with a friend and have trouble committing to the larger brackets due to time constraints.

One of the best paladins on my battlegroup (a bad battlegroup I know, merge please) plays almost exclusively 2v2 since he doesn't have much spare time and has trouble finding 3v3 and 5v5 teams that are willing to play when he is available. He fully deserves the best gear available, it's not his fault that the 2v2 bracket is badly balanced.

I've never been a huge fan of 2v2 so this probably won't affect me at all, but I'm sure a lot of players really enjoy the bracket and I don't see any reason why they don't deserve equal gear.

no one wants to play with feral druid which is bad in arena even in 2v2 bracket, in 3v3 i just get trained - together with wsg change you took ALL what i liked in wow. i wrote already that i canceled my subscription and will not renew if this change will go live.

These changes are both bad and poorly thought of. Please, do not go through with them. I will not threaten to quit, as I'll simply play Aion on a beside and I know it, but you WILL frustrate a lot of paying customers who genuinely made 2v2 arena their way of life.

Blizzard you need to start listening to your customers and actually do some things that we ask for, i know some of the ideas are extreme and wont get implented but this patch is by far one of the worst ever ive seen.

You do realise your handing over tons of money over to other games with this patch, loads of people will quit, some will not. But the fact is wotlk has been complete fail...nothing about it has been good.

TBC was good , there was a sense of balance, you could tell if somebody was good rather than getting 1 shot by any random person.

Your death knights from the start of S5 have been complained about and so was holy paladins, yet you let them lol about whole of s5 but you hotfix arcane mages, mutilate rogues and destro warlocks within days or destro was nurfed within like 14 hours.

Your sending nerfs and buffs to the wrong places, changes to the game in the wrong places, you need to sort it out now or this game will shortly die out and im sure as a company who have had years of success with the warcraft games, you dont want that to happen

Put PvP back to TBC in some way and then mabye, we will have somthing to be happy about

Remove the 2v2 changes

Leave the battlegrounds alone

Me personally will not quit, but alot of my good friends will do, and im sick of friends of mine quitting because you cant do the right things.

My view on things, flame me pff

Well, i will say the same now. If you want the "good" gear then you need to properly play the game even if you dont like it, the same answer you have been giving BG PvPers everywhere (and i am not talking about you personaly here obviously).

Bad, we are going from about 25% DK/druid, 25% Warr/healer, 15% Rogue/priest, 35% misc combo, to 60% RMP 30% Cleave 10% Misc combos.... Real balanced.

3v3 is completely biased towards RMP and to some extent, cleave teams, at least in 2v2 we got some OP combos but we get more variety. So unless you nerf RMP, with shares diminish returns on sheep,fear, sap and blind, we are only going to see mostly rogues, priest and mages in high end PvP gear.

I think it is a horrible change and will cost WoW a lot of players. Many people play 2v2 because the other two brackets are much more difficult to organise.. I play 3's with 2 good friends and even we only manage to play once or twice a week because most of the time we are not all online at the same time or have to raid etc, so that leaves us little time for playing arena together.

Whereas with 2v2 it only depends on 2 people so it is much easier to play it more.

Anothe issue is balance... RMP is by FAR the most dominant setup in 3v3 and has been for seasons upon seasons now, and I doubt there is a way to nerf it without making each one of the 3 classes that compose it completely useless individually or while playing with anything else. Whereas the fotm's of 2v2 change every season, and even if you are not fotm it is easier to get ratings from 2's than it is from 3's because you get to play it more and there isn't as much zerg in it as there is in the other two brackets.

That brings me to my next point... the burst damage. Most of the serious arena players I know HATE 3v3 and 5v5 because it is nothing more than a zerg fest where no matter how skilled you are you can die in 2 seconds (Hydra dying in a couple of sec in the latest MLG in 3v3 is a good example of that). 5v5 is even worse...

Plus very few people can even play 5v5 consistently simply because of how difficult it is to organise.

Overall I would reccomend that you simply greatly reduce the arena points gained from 2v2 compared to the other brackets but let people earn gear from playing 2v2, because as it is now you will just lose many many many players.
