Q u o t e:

And the guy next in line has halitosis, so you don't really want to talk to his face, right, so you kind of just look to one side, so you're not breathing in his face but neither is he breathing in yours, which is kinda what you want since he needs a tic tac more than BoA gear.

But over to that side, is some other guy, and he starts thinking you're talking to him. And HE starts thinking that the BoA gear is going to be coming to him. His eyes start to light up like those see-through plastic flashlights you see in pound stores. Of course, he doesnt know what BoA means, he just sees you standing there next to the other guy, with the thing in your hand, and apparently talking to him.

But when he doesn't get the item, he gets annoyed, so you have to deal with halitosis-man. Hopefully by this time most of the other people have shuffled around in the line, so that you're a bit closer to the door, or fan, or air conditioning, so the bad breath isn't quite as bad. If you were close to the front you could probably buy him some mints, but then you'd be giving him mints and some gear, and that would be silly.

So, the real question is, do you want to deal with halitosis man?

I guess it could be a woman too, hadn't thought of that.

Compelling tale, chap.

I'll let you in on a secret - publishers ordered a three book arc, and the sequel is already in the works.

Apparently, it's set in New York, in the early 1920s, during the "Yes, We Have No Bananas" mess. It's going to be epic. Plus, it'll be released as a book-on-tape in twelve languages, and for the deaf.

Kicking ass, and taking minds.

On the note of BoA items for those who haven't read MMO-Champion lately, they're adding new Chest heirloom items which will have the same 10% EXP gain that shoulders have and the two effects will stack.

Yeah, I know. That's awesome. They'll probably match the current shoulders. i.e Valor, Shadowcraft, etc

Well with the risk of sounding stupid... this is how I thought that it would work...

I bought the Item, I knew I could send it to other chars, although what I also thought was the following:

That whenever I will create a char, I will get the option to select in a list the heirlooms that I have on my account. So that the character can start immediatly with said Item, this item would of course then be removed from the other character that currently had it.

I must say I was a tad disapointed when I noticed that I couldn't do anything else but to send it with mailboxes.

Why would you think that when Blizzard never remotley even suggested they would work in the way you thought they would?

Q u o t e:
It really is just a matter of semantics. The item is bound to your account, just that there are other game mechanics that prevent exchange between factions. If the game supported a way for bound items to be passed between characters of different factions, then it should work as written on the can. Sure, we could have named it such that it purely described only what you can currently do with it, but instead we chose not to restrict it from future possibility.

If the Goblins can allow BOE items to be traded via the Goblin AH how can't the Goblins create somekind of black market mailing system that allows for cross faction mailing?

Limit it to BoE or BoA gear so as to stop crass faction communication etc and make its price prohibitive ie. 100g per parcel.

I don't know, somehow I just connected that: It is bind on the account and you can start with it already at level one. Then I also thought that since it is bound to account and if I want to make a horde character with it... this would be a possible solution.

In my opinion BOA means BOA not - Bound to the mailbox service.

Feels like a half arsed solution.

Although if they ever start a new server they do not need to be worried that people will start there with heirlooms...

Still... half arsed

It's not half-arsed. It's working as intended. They never intended for those items to be traded cross faction.

Seems there is now news of heirloom chestpieces coming in 3.2. We intend for these to have a +10% experience bonus much like the existing shoulders. Currently this stacks with the shoulder's bonus, which as you can see is quite a nice little boost to experience gains.

I'm not certain off hand, it could be an existing emblem or a new one.

While on the topic, are there any plans to add additional weapons for the specs that have no use for the current weapons. For example a slow one hand weapon for enhancement shamans, perhaps a pole arm/staff for feral droods and even hunters for use?

Wryxian, have you all given any thought to updating the tooltip wording of heirloom items to be more specific about what can and cannot be done with them? Some players still seem to get quite confused about the mechanics of it.

And yes, I know.... again with the tooltips...

I don't honestly know anyone that is still confused about heirloom mechanics. You can only send them through mail, so they automatically carry the inherited restrictions from doing this. The tooltip's fine, any player will be able to work out what they can and can't do with them within minutes.

On another note, the blue posts I've seen about the new chest heirlooms seem to suggest they're linked with the argent tournament in some way, any confirmation on this or is it just poor wording?

Sometimes I touch myself.

When I first knew about Heirloom items I knew that they wouldn't be able to be sent across server, and then when I saw them in-game I knew they couldn't be sent to Horde. Its really not hard to figure out, common sense really.
