Um, none of the above :) All of the recipes plus hat, but stopped after that :)

Paladin is a defensive class alright.
And Attack is the best form of defence.

I've got (on an alt) the Fish Feast and a couple of others that are good for me but having to wait three days to get each of the various recipes is just a little dull I'm afraid.

I appreciate that Blizzard wanted to do something different with the cooking skill this time but to be honest the restriction on levelling it only by a daily quest is a little annoying.

As for the chefs hat, its not worth grinding for because it doesn't do anything. If it worked like the Alchemy Masteries and allowed a proc for cooking twice the amount that would be nice, but even then 100 badges is a high cost.

well heres the thing, my gripe with the hat is that i have to choose between it and northrend spices, which means because ive saved 60+ cooking awards and that when im doing my dailies which include fishing, i collect various fishes and meat products, that i now have a bank full of food i cant do anything with, if i was raiding i would need the best food available, if i was selling made food id need the best food available, and i cant do either because im saving for a hat...this makes a sad lokust.

I just took everything including the hat. Too bad that things start to become boring now :(

Any future plans for cooking?

Totally agree with this! Yet another ill conceived idea from the Blizzard (dare i say) think tank. God only knows why minor things like this were even thought of when there are much larger problems that could have been addressed.

Professions arent a great deal of fun. Making people have to do trivial quests to advance their professions is even less fun.

If you are a raider and hope to hold down a full time job dailies are pointless as the reward is minimal and theres just not enough time in the day to do them.

Auction House flipping FTW!

I have one char that has bought all the recipes so far to get the 160 recipe achievement, unsure if she'll bother with the hat to be honest. My problem is being an altaholic, I got 5 chars on the go, which means 5 cooking dailies a day, 5 fishing dailies a day, gets a bit monotonous after a while. Then count all the other dailies for factions thrown in too, not enough hours in a day and not enough frayed nerves left to be bothered half the time.

oh and I often did the daily on alts and bought spices with their tokens so my main never had to waste a token on them

it would be nice to have a few more novelty recipes available though

I got a few of the recipes, and i'm working on getting them all not sure i'll try and get the hat. thing is I never use the recipes because they use the spice, and I don't want to spend the cooking awards on the spice. It would be nice if you could buy the spice for normal money instead of rewards.

The title of the thread seems pretty redundant. Surely you have the ingame data to know precisely what we are purchasing with our cooking rewards? You know what proportion of the population does the daily, how the demographics of each matches with the rewards they take.

Our opinion of the profession is diffierent and not so easily quantifiable.

Cooking currently serves a singular purpose for the casual to hardcore raider.

Fish Feasts.

These are the staply social provision in raiding, and I like them. Would be nice if they also had a tank buff component, as our tanks often take a different food.

But reducing a profession to that singular buff item seems a bit sad.

The opportunities are endless really.

Two-grade quality food was a nice addition, the Northen Spices adding a bit of extra buffage. I can see how this could be extended, but you would be reluctant to do so. Having five grades of increasingly resource intensive buff foods would just force the hardcore into another grind like the old pot grind.

What would be nice though is something that required all raid members to contribute to.

I'd like to see a cooking put summoned - crafted by the 450 cook for minimal cost, or at great cost but resuable, which required everyone (or say 20+) to add an ingredient or two (any Northrend meat/fish). After that it transformed into the finished feast, which gave a food buff lasting 1hr/2hrs which lasts through death like a flask.

It shoa wouldn't!

I have gathered recipes and have been cooking from day one! Leveled it with fishing, am still gathering the awards, have the hats, and buy spices with the rest.

If you really have no idea what to do with the overload of spices, just fish, cook and sell on AH. Quite profitable. And still enough of those spices to have a load of Fish Feasts for raiding available.

I have Cooking Title , Hat, All Recipes , Achive Compleet on the Cook.
And I have Soon... Again 100 Cook Marks.

-but I have a Suggestion,

Is Possible , Maybe .?? To Remove All Old Cooking Repice's Example :
The one to make 20 health.. or like that.. Cause we dont need that.

and Same on Alchemy example , or Maybe Short by Lvl. will be greater.

cause soon and on another Few year... we will have Big encyclopedie About Cooking and etc..
And I do not think this is the point off it.

Bought all the recipes, and some spices to get my skill up faster...just saving for the hat now, and then I'll just be doing the daily for the spices to keep the guild fed, and for resale.
