it's giving 150haste on 5sec, not 150%

When are you going to actually balance ALL Hybrid DPS so that Warriors are on level in BOTH Battle Stance and Fury with Druids, Ret Paladins, Enh Shamans, Spriests and ofc our all time faves Death Knights?

I hear lot's of talk coming from your company that Hybrid classes are supposed to all be doing about 5% less damage than Pure DPS classes yet I have not seen or heard of anything like that where the Warrior class is concerned, and it concerns me a great deal some of the above Hybrod classes are in fact making a total mockery of that.

If the Meerkats are coming after you, you did something really wrong...

Level 80 Warrior, Hunter, Shadow Priest, Mage, Warlock, Rogue & Death Knight.

I can only speak from a PvP point of view

We are the only class (I'm not totally sure here) who have to deal with full mitigation from armor. Bleeds, such as rend and deep wounds - ofcourse ignores armor, but isnt much help in the burst race - which is PvP right now. A more functionell formula for armor penetration would be great, but I'm sure there is alot easier ways to solve this problem. When we face a Death Knight or Paladin they outburst us with miles if we dont burn shield wall / disarm or just turn the other way. It grinds my gear.

Which brings me to the second point - Our survivability is !#**. No wait, thats not correct. Its awesome, every 5 minutes and unless you get dismanteled. Bringing defensive cooldowns back brings back the flow in the game - not just spamming you hardest bursts and your longest cooldowns. This is very hard to balance due to PvE - I know. A talent for damage reduction would be nice, or a shorter CD on disarm in the Arms tree - it wouldnt hurt PvE but increase our life span vs most melee. Is there any plans to fix this in any way? Perhaps make magic melee hits be reduced by armor?

Will you improve Mace specc and Swrod specc in the arms tree to better compete with the Axe specc?

And it's also about completely useless for Arms, 150% haste from something >50 is still close to nothing.

Are you gonna do something about the recently changed Glyph of Rapid Charge (ie. completely revamp the effect of the glyph) because right now it's usefullnes is pretty much nonexistent.

And my last question is, do you have any plans to make sword spec just as useful as poleaxe spec or mace spec?

Why do warriors have to wait to get developer attention while other classes get fixed instantly?
Why warrior 3.1 patch notes were around 7 lines of text, while classes that work correctly in all speccs ( /point death knight) got such a huge overhaul?
Why warriors are the only hybrid which got actually penalised when developers decided that hybrids cannot be on par with pure classes in terms of dps?
Why do protection warriors currently have the lowest effective health, lowest avoidance and mitigation, and why nothing is done about it?
Why did the flaws in block rating and block value, around which warriors are balanced, got noticed only recently while there was so much alpha and beta testing?
Why protection warriors have to struggle to maintain the same tps and aoe threat as other tanks, and very often fail to manage that?

these are my questions. hope for answers soon.

Getting death gripped from the top level to the bottom on Dalaran sewers while bladestorming makes me a sad panda, not at all complaining about the strength of warriors mind you, I just don't think you should be 'deathgripable' while bladestorming regardless of whatever other nerfs/buffs ppl think warriors need. Whilst I get that if i get deathgripped it means that the DK is now getting bladestormed, it's about having pressure up on a target/targets and being moved so that i'm now hitting another target who is likely at higher health and may not have ms up isn't a huge consolation for me in that situation. So, yeah, is this intended?

Few things i have questions about:

- What happened to the change where Shattering Throw costs 0 rage?
- Other melee have to much unmitigated dmg against warriors. Make defensive stance give spell resitance/poison resistance based upon armor or something.
- Shield wall is awesome, but the cooldown is way too long, AND any rogue can completely cancel the 2 defensive cooldowns we have.
- Warrior defensive play (shieldwall/shield block/defensive stance) reduces warrior dmg by at least 50%, in arena this removes any real offensive pressure you can offer, and thus is almost always an autoloss unless the enemy team doesnt take advantage of it (any 1800+ team will). In comparison to DK (icebound fortitude) and rogue (evasion) the cost for warrior to go defensive is way to high.
- Deathgripped while bladestorming, slowed by Desecration while bladestorming, pls fix it. Im pretty sure this is just a technical issue and that its not ment this way, plz find someone in the development team who can find the problem and fix it.
- Ret burst is out of control, Vindication takes of 4k of my health, some RNG and i die within hammer of justice (hammer on 1 min CD, trinket on 2 min CD). I either have to kill a pala within a minute or i lost the arena match. I am not sure how pala dmg/seals work, but please change it.

is anything going to be done about the spike damage warrior tanks get especially in ulduar 25? warriors currently have less health and less armor than druids or DKs and less health and no permablock which paladins have. this basically means the worst case scenario damage we take from 2 hits in a row in ulduar (the time it takes to get reactive healing, generally) takes us to -10k (assuming 25k hits and 40k health) while paladins go down to -6k (1k more health and 2x 1.5k blocks), druids to -6-7k (2k more HP and more mitigation from armor) and DKs about the same as well.

is anything going to be done about the ridiculously high boss hits? as a tank I feel like my only option is stacking stamina because none of the other stats will realistically help me avoid bad-luck deaths. i.e. deaths caused by 2 slightly higher than average boss FULL HITS and a holy light that didn't crit. that's just messed up...

I got this ret pala and yes we got high dmg, even at low gear levels.
A good ret hits for 4k vindication+4-7k crusaderstrike 4k divinestorm 3-4k judgement.
this is like 16-20k in like 4 sec. And im not counting auto attacks, seals, (each seal causes about 1k hit and 1.5-2k crit). so lets say 3 auto attacks on 2k each + 5k seal dmg = 27k dmg in 5 sec = 5.4k dps (burst) and then if youre lower than 20% hp you will get hit for a 4k HoW. On top of that if the pala got wings its +20% dmg. This ends up in about 36k in 5 secs, so yeah rets burst is insane.
Got a level 80 warrior too and its way more fun if it just would have good survivability and lower cd on charge by a couple of seconds.

Is there any chance that you would change Bloodthirst to not require a melee weapon?

I miss bloodthirst, it felt alot better to be Fury than being protection. It would also slightly buff Fury in PvP wich I think they might need right now. (Could you get a better gift to Gutrots 80 ding, except maybe the loincloth...)

And as a prot warrior:

Is there any chance to increase the DPS while tanking/soloing?

I am way below the other tanks in damage done, wich makes me feel like I'm not contributing enough to the raid.

If you want both arms and fury to be equal in PVE, why does arms have neither Threat reduction or +hit talents? Looks like that was forgotten from when Arms was PvP only..?

Hunger for blood 1 points increase damage with 15% with no penalty what so ever and can be glyphed for 3% more damage that 18% cost 15 energy every minute but no penalty.
how is this fair.

- Warriors is the only class that i can think of that loses almost all dmg and resources (rage) to Protect itself from Death anything being done to fix that?

Heroic Strike doesnt feel very...heroic. I would love it if you could do something more interesting with this (okay, not quite a question but more like a request).


As a warrior, I still feel forced to take the 15/5/51 cookiecutter spec because of TPS issues. If I go with a different, more survival-based spec I have to completely rely on other people to keep my TPS at the top (misdirects and tricks-of-the-trade's). Now I know Blizzard liked the idea of tanks doing dmg as well, but I was under the impression that it was supposed to be dmg while being a tank, not a forced hybrid. Is there anything being done about the fact that warriors are more reliant than other tanks on TPS if they spec for full survival, instead of part dps/bigger part survival?

Will you PLEASE do something about being rage-starved in avoidance-streaks. There were plans for granting rage on a dodge/parry, PLEASE give this back. Its HORRENDOUS, I need at least a steady rage income thats more than the 9-10 I'm getting each hit with my weapon, I simply cannot keep aggro this way. DK's have self-replenishing resources, paladins have the everlasting divine-plea and druids....well, they get a bit of rage on crits and just do alot more dmg in general. Warriors are really getting the shaft on a resources-for-aggro/TPS basis.

Please take a look at the dmg of Devastate. Is it really supposed to be this bad, especially in scaling?

Take a look at the TPS rotation of a warrior in General. I think it can be best described as "dynamic", and thats an understatement. I think everybody has seen the http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/9209/warriorthreatrotation2td0.png flowchart. It all feels VERY frantic and at the same time I'm bashing HS as fast as I can. "Shield slam, devasta~~ oh !!!% another shieldslam proc oh revenge is up now DONT FORGET HEROIC STRIKE oh Concussion bl HS HS DONT FORGET SHIELDSLAM OH SNAP NEED TO KEEP TCLAP UP AND DEMO SHOUT AND SHOCKWAVE IS BACK UP" etc etc. To me at least, it is pretty exhausting. Is it really supposed to be this frantic?

This is related to the issue above, but the fact that shield slam relies on block value as a DPS and therefore TPS modifier is starting to hurt warriors now that block is such a mediocre stat: getting lots of gear with block value on it will simply gimp survivability in comparison to avoidance. Its either getting gear with block value and doing a bit more TPS/DPS while getting hit alot harder, or getting gear with avoidance and getting the opposite result. I dont think other tanks have this problem, so why exactly is this the case with an important TPS ability like Shieldslam?

In your opinion (blizzard/the dev's), what exactly should be THE reason for a guild to bring a warrior instead of a different kind of tank. To make it a bit clearer, what makes warriors special in their own way (a DK has high hp + lots of cd's, a paladin has high tps etc).

These are my concerns. I think some of them have already been addressed, but I feel I should add my own input. They are from a PvE point of view. I also make no claim to be the best player in the game. But I do feel that I am good enough to represent a guild at the top of it's faction on my server. When I talk about pure classes I'm referring to Mages, Warlocks, Rogues, Hunters (basically those that really can only DPS). Hybrid Classes are the rest.

Tanking:

I find myself either always at 100 rage or <20 rage when I'm in a raid or dungeon. It's never in between. Are there plans to fix this? There never seems to be a middleground. On bosses I'm nearly always at 100 rage unless I avoid 3 hits in a row in which case I'm not getting any and my threat drops significantly.

I find myself really fighting to generate the amounts of threat our DK tanks and Druid tanks seem to have no problem generating (between 9k and 10k TPS) even while kiting bosses like Razorscale and Ignis on Heroic Mode. This is both on bosses and on multi-target trash. Will there be an increase to our single target and AoE threat gen?

Comparing myself to other tanks in my guild (1 prot warrior, 2 DKs, 1 Feral Druid) I feel that gearwise we're all on a similar level - Naxx 25 or Ulduar 10/25. The prot warriors have significantly less health when fully raid buffed (Kings, fort, MotW, Flask, 40 stam food, Devotion Aura). I sit at about 41k hp in a 25 man raid and our DKs with the same buffs sit at between 48k and 50k hp while avoidance is about equal. Is there anything being done to increase our effective health or our avoidance?

Since we started Ulduar I have been replaced as our guild's Main Tank purely because the DK can sit there and just take it. This enables him to keep a solid threat lead above the DPS on fights like Ignis and General Vezax because he NEVER has to move an inch for each of the fights. True the option is there for me to stand there and take it aswell, but after talking with the healers in our guild they all feel it is many times easier healing the DK. And unfortunately it's not just the healers who feel this is better. The DPS love a boss that doesn't move. It makes fights like Vezax and Ignis far easier. I know you didn't intend for this to happen, but why should we come up with complicated kiting tactics for boss fights if we can just hold him down in one place and pummel him flat?

A DK being able to stand there and take it also makes them better at handling unbalancing strikes (yeah go ahead and crit me with IBF and UA active while I death strike) from thorim or a broken hearted XT-002 or a shockblast from Mimiron.

My shield feels like a fancy ornament I carry around with me. Despite it's size it certainly doesn't give me the protection it should. The largest block I've seen when tanking was against General Vezax on ten man. It was approximately 7200 blocked from a 16k hit (apologies no screenshot) after using shield block + lavanthor's talisman + glyph of blocking and wearing some extra SBV gear. I assume it's a critical block because this is almost 4000 points larger than other blocks I see when I use the same set-up. Personally I feel this is where block should usually be. Not in the paltry region of 2000 from a 20k physical hit. Would have been better for the healers if I had dodged/parried that, but then my rage and consequently my threat drops.

I love the idea of tanking with a shield. In my opinion it's far cooler than just sitting there and taking the hit or dodging/parrying. Right now I feel like I benefit more from taking parry/dodge items and stacking stamina instead of block rating + SBV items. How do the warrior developers plan to improve using a shield?

This isn't really a question, but more an observation. Unlike Druids and DKs I can't really wear my DPS gear and hope to tank. True I can jump into Defensive stance and throw on a shield, but it's nowhere near as effective as a feral druid jumping into bear form in his DPS gear or a DK going into frost presence and Death Striking as much as he can. Both gain the HPs to handle the odd crit here or there. I believe Paladins fall into the same brakcet as the warriors here.

PvE DPS:

From personally experience Fury is far below Arms. Fury requires very little skill to be able to perform well with (with respect to other warriors) and Arms currently feels like I'm playing a piano on my keyboard. It can be fun, but it can also be far more difficult to play than Fury in fights where you have to move. Compared to "pure class" DPS overall I think Arms is ok where it is, if not a little low, but Fury is almost silly with how poor it is.

Compared to other "Hybrid classes" warrior DPS is disappointingly low. Here are links to several different boss fights:

Several of these fights are tank and spank, others are not. And yet there is a recurring theme where the same DK (Unholy) and Feral Druid are consistantly in the top 3 or 4 (except for freya where the druid was tanking). If I understand it correctly Scourge Strike ignores armour completely because it's considered a shadow attack? I know other mele classes have attacks that ignore armour (like paladin judgements), but I've never seen these match the damage from a Scourge Strike.

When it comes to AoE we aren't useless. Bladestorm is an incredibley powerful ability especially when coupled with sweeping strikes. However when it's on cooldown there is little to no way for us to match the AoE from other hybrid classes like Death Knights and Boomkin (I've seen unholy DKs reach 12000 DPS in the arena before fighting Thorim and on trash before Freya).

What is planned for warrior DPS with respect to Arms and Fury? If you plan to buff it do you plan on buffing it through talents (e.g. to off-set the massive loss from titan's grip when it comes to fury) or through buffing the abilities themselves or through giving us brand new abilities perhaps?

Finally Heroic Strike isn't a heroic strike (I think this was already used in this thread). It's an ability I use to dump excess rage. Perhaps make it into an actual seperate attack instead of chewing up a white attack?

Every tank needs hit. Every tank needs stamina. Every tank needs dodge/parry.
We are the only tanking class that relies very much on expertise. All other tanks may skip expertise and go for stamina, we may not!

Warriors and Paladins are both tanks with little health, but Paladins get 10% benefit from stamina where warriors are getting only 6%.

Considering Paladins can skip expertise totally and go for maximum stamina, won't that end in a scaling where Warriors are left behind with very little effective health ?

What is the future of block ?

Why does playing a Warrior (espacially tanking) feel like working double the amount than others, with the same result of course.

Where is the choice when getting talents?


I feel like having no choice when talenting my Warrior. You have to get the 51. talents in every tree and most of them taken on your way down are nobrainers or complety useless.
Fury without Titan's Grip ?..... Not working
Protection without Shockwave ?...... Yeah might work, but pretty bad.
Arms without Bladestorm ?...... Take what else ? Arms with 2 One-handers ? .... Bad ?

Our "brothers" Deathknights have lots of choices. They can tank with all their trees and deal damage with anyone. Are Warriors to old and you want us to get a DK ?

Why are Warrior buffs so damn short and have such little range?

First why cant I overwrite a nontalented Blessing of Might if my Battleshout brings more ap but has less time ?
I can live with 3-5 minute buffs, but when raiding I would not be able to buff the whole raid when the it will run out in combat.

Why do we have to waste so many talentpoints in improving our buffs/debuffs when they are not really worth it.

Why is playing Fury so lame?

Ok Fury was overpowered in Naxx, we got that. But why does playing if feels so... It's boring like hell.
You push your same 2 buttons, hit slam when you get the proc message and spam heroic stike when your 2 hits gave you 100 rage and you do nothing when all your last 5 hits did not hit the target.

When tanking Gothik or Thorium as Warrior why do I feel like I can't get it done while doing everything to bind all enemies to me when other tanks just have to use 1 button. I spam Thunderclap, Shockwave, use charge or intercept while TC and SW are on cooldown and still feel that melees and healers are nearly getting aggro?

You better dont tank those bosses as Warrior.
