I wanted to know why nearly all other class DPS specs get passive 30%+ threat reduction but we only have access to 5% per 1 talent point upto 10% max.
With all classes DPS trees now viable, could we please bring both warlock talent trees into line with nearly all other classes with regards to threat. I believe mages suffer a little here aswell ;)

If you do not think this is needed change, then could you please clarify why?

EDIT: If Soulshatter is the reason, then remove soul shatter and gimme 35% passive TPS reduction plz ;p

Warlocks do quite a fair bit of healing now to their pets and themselves in most of our PvE specs (probably all lol). Is this the reason we gain more TPS than we are doing as DPS?
Example:
If i am doing 4k DPS as destro, with Fel synergy that is about 600HPS. Which is about an extra 300 TPS. I am a not very well learned on the subject of threat generation though but this would be 4300 TPS. If your affliction, you may still have fel synergy and you will also have Corruption - Siphon Life talents (not sure if haunt is added to you threat ??).

As destro you will might be spec'd into regen talents. Soul Leech. 30% chance to heal for 20% of damage done. I suck at maths so I am not sure what HPS this would generate. Then you have Fel Armor procs. This seemingly acts like a HoT it may be adding to the problem.
I am aware that most of these abilities wont cause threat if the warlock or the pet is at full health but with the amount of raid damage in ulduar and Life Tap, it is a rare occurance for my pet or myself to be at 100% health.

OR
I could be completely wrong and no threat is caused by our self healing ;)

2. What is the future of our Pets? We are the class that depends the most on its pets. It's easy to kill and we're left off, but with Fel Domination AND Master Damonologist. 15 min cd AND they are tier 3+4 with 3-points.
Without a pet we lost most of our utilities. (Spell Lock, Dispel, Seduce, Sacrifice-Shield, Paranoia) AND lose Soul Link which is our only overall defense.

3. Some time ago there was a statement about Pets reading that there will be serveral improvements to make Pets viable in arena next to the fotm-Felhunter. Till now the only change i've seen to the succubus is the nerf of instant seduction. The Pet has only ONE aiblity that has any usefulness: Seduction. Not that it's share DR with Fear, it's also easily to counter since it's channeled AND the mana cost is way to high. After 4-5 Seductions the pet is oom and therefore useless. Will there anything be addressed in the near future?

4. When will pets finally scale with spell penetration? it is NECASSARY and should be hotfixed at once.

Last year Ghostcrawler said you intended to base warlock defenses primarily on mitigation. Is that still the case? If it is, how will you address the DPS loss introduced when a cast-time dependant class is forced to remain in melee range for prolonged periods of time?

1. Do you plan to look into Amplify Curse talent? A removal of GCD from curses is fine as one talent point. Now players spend it just to get Curse of Exhaustion.

3. Curses are very very very nice concept, but appearantly it falls behind now. Curse of Weakness is useless completely useless. Curse of Tongues as well since it replaces CoA or CoEx. CoEx is fine. The problem is, that we sacrifice our dps to do something other classes can without sacrificing their dps (mage even has CoEx + CoT in one spell). I really think you should do something about curses, because concept is awesome.

4. Affliction doesn't look as it used to back in TBC. I felt then like i'm the dotter, now i'm feeling like i am a shadow priests (i have some dots but it's all about debuffs and drains (haunt, shadow embrance).

5. Any affliction burst-on-demand, please? :s

6. You said you want affliction to use fire spells as well. Do you still think about this?

7. More melee survivability! It's fine that warlock's defence is unique - to tank damage, not to avoid, but we are too dependant on pets, and even if our pets are alive we still take a lot of melee damage. We need a defensive spell against melee. Unique one, because some classes have stun duration reduces, knokbacks, shields... what about dk anti-magic zone thing? For example we lay a circle in which stun duration is reduced by 30% I don't know actually :)

8. GREEN FIRE!

9. It's been discussed about a nice unique defensive mechanic - self banish (so warlockish). Are you still looking into it?

10. What is concept of Demonology? It now looks as BM Hunter's - send pet, win button (meta), and throw up a sting and aimed (dots) and steady shot spam (searing pain / drain life).

11. Any soul shard changes on abilities like shadow burn or soul fire? Like, if it is a critical hit you regain soul shard.

12. Well, actually this may sound weird, but we have too many skills. My 4 action bars are filled with skills + pet bar + addon which manages stones and pets, while on my warrior i dont even have half of this.

13. Please buff glyph of unending breathing. Atleast 60% speed increase.

14. Any plans of making affliction more viable in 3's and 5's?

15. WILL YOU GIVE OUR WEAPONS GLOW FROM STONES LIKE SHAMANS GET FROM ENCHANTS? :{

-Its pretty hard getting shards in PVP as destruction. Make shadowburn (glyphed?) create two shards?

-Death coil NEEDS and should have a 1 min cooldown!

  • Give immolate a dispelprotection, was mentioned in a Bluepost 8 months ago, no word since then.

  • Make instant howl trainable, just cos warlocks had made arena charst its was only in DK/PALA/LOCK comps. This along with demonic circle tweaks would fix alot of our stupidly poor survivability vs melee.


  • Set death coil to 1 min cd, it's our only way to peel of melee unelss you freaking want us to put down a visable demonic circle every 40feet, then move, then stop and repeat portal..


  • Is this just another 6month We-do-a-Q&A-to-make-you-feel-involved, but you will end up with a last post stating "thank you for your input" and not a single answer of what changes are plausable to become real in a reasonable timespan??

    Its called "Revenge" and therefore the warrior WILL get his revenge from s5 and crit you

    There is even a small trick if you want stones but don't have shards - enter skirmish -> make spellstone and firestone -> leave if you want or end the match.

    - Why does warlock still does have to invest 2 sets of talents one in aff and other in Destro to increase range and to decrease threat done to either aff spells and destruction spells.

    - Why our Threat dumper is still on a 5mins cooldown when on most cooldowns were lowered to 3minutes (Rogue ones come to mind).

    - Why our Reagents Infernal Stones and Demonic Figurine still only stack to 5x when most Reagent items were upgraded to 20x (mages/druid ones come to mind).

    - Why we have to make a DPS sacrifice by casting COE when Moonkins and Unholy Deadknights have it applyed automaticaly with they spells/attacks?

    - Do Devs still consider that the demonlogy tree have to pay a DPS tax cause of having some survability talents in it? Example. Soul Link. and Metamorphosis

    - Do Devs consider that the demonlogy tree have to pay a DPS tax cause it has a talent that buffs Spell power of the entire raid?

    - Why our raid buffs trough pets are still inferior to other comterparts? example: Blood pact(IMP) 1330 vastly inferior to Commanding shout, 2200~. Fire Shield(IMP) inferior than thorns and vastly inferior than Retribution aura.

    - Is there work being made to make Firestone and Spellstone more atractive and "fun" to specs outside of those that can get Master Conjurer?

    - It was said that Blizzard dont like to have separate effects on a spell for PVE and PVP and still we have Curse of Doom for so long, its there anything being worked to make Curse of Doom a spell we can use in PVP? Under ofc some work.

    - Is Rain of Fire being buffed under a full Destroction spec to counter the power of Rain of Fire with Emberstone and Molten Core? Hybrid specs mostly FG/ember and Decimate/Conflag

    - Is there a execute spell being considered for Destruction? Like affliction has drain soul and Demonlogy/hybrids have decimate, ofc damage would have to be retinked but Imo exec spells or effects make the game more fun to play.

    - on topic of exec spells. Is there any work being done to make Shadow Burn a spell to relly consider when thinking of a spec? It could be reworked to be the Destruction exec spell.

    - Are we given any kind of customization of our Spells and our pets? Example: the beloved Green fire and possible to rename our pets or even have a random pet name everytime we cast one

    PVE pets.

    - Do devs balance warlock DPS arround having the Pet out and making DPS? Some specs relly heavly on pet and others not so much but its safe to say that even the others that dont benefict that much get atlest 300-400 dps from it?

    - Why is there so many Pet unfrendly fights in Ulduar, Yogg Sarron is praticaly unforgiven to pets and require us to dont use him on most of Phase 2, Mirmiron is very hard aswell and require severe pet managment

    - Are the 30mins Cooldown Doomguard taking in consideration when balancing Affliction damage?

    - Why does casting Infernal still despawns our previous pet and not getting it back after Infernal is dead or timed over.

    PVP

    - Is warlock balanced on PVP under any of this premises? Both arena and BG/World PVP
    a) Is speced Soulink.
    a) Have 900~ Resilence gear.
    b) Have a Demonic portal out at a conveniente spot.
    c) Have a healtstone out and ready in Inventory
    d) Have Soulstone casted on Himself (doesnt work on arenas Iam aware of that)
    f) Have the right pet for the right class.
    g) have the righ Armor buff casted. Fel armor for casters, Demonic armor for physical


    - Are we balanced under the condition that we have Fear spell and it can go off most of the time?

    - Are we balanced under the condiction that we will have pet alive and well 90% of the time?

    - Why is so hard to recast a pet still, 10sec untalented, and 0.5sec cast when using a 15mins Cooldown.

    - Are we balanced under the condiction we are melee pvp tanks still like in TBC?

    - Why warlock is the class that has the most 0.5 and 1.5 abilities? The so called "false" insta cast abilitis since they cost the same or under the GBC but requires stationary casts. examples(some untalented), Howl of Fear, Unstable affliction, Demonic Portal place, Summon under Fel Domination, Fear, Immolate(talented)

    - Is any work being made to shift this ideology that warlock have to be a setup class, we have to have the Right pet to battle the right class, have stuff conjured, Portal at a right position, in Arena this is possible but WOW isnt arena only and most of the time expecilay the Portal it cant be used on Demand and thats the major Probleam with it.

    - Are Demonic portal ever gona be a on Demand escape ability Spell instead of a "setup" spell.

    Do you have any plans on making metamorphosis usable against paladins? Since the spell only lasts 30-36 seconds it feels kinda stupid you make yourself vurnerable to even more CC and there is a single class that can deal huge amounts of damage while we are using a 51 point talent.

    And I'd also like to know if there are any more news on your soul shard revamp?

    * pet bugs in ring of valor, got to make it stay then follow, still this takes about 10 secs +/- and is even easier to gib the pet, and vs shammys if they put all the totems at begin he doesnt attack (not using macro just setting it to attack) intended?

    * Do you find Warlock's general survivability good enough in the arena against the many "cleave" teams or are there any incoming changes?

    * Can we expect to get our stamina / armor boosted in our pvp gear? is unfair for a warlock see a warr /dk running around with 28k hp with offensive gems and we dont even get 25k hp with full stam /resi gems

    * Do you know that in ring of valor warlocks cant place portal ,untill its up making it useless since melee will train you down?

    * Is there any chance of having Demonic Teleport usable while stunned in the near future?

    * Do you find Warlock's Fear balanced in the current PvP despite the many different immunities and breakers across the broad?

    * When talking about Fear, do you have any plans of raising the amount of damage a target can take from dots again?

    * Maybe make non dots do 50% less damage to a Feared target and bring the cap back up to where it once was, so Warlocks' primary defensive spell can be used once again?

    *if you dont buff fear to where it was , do you have any defensive spell to replace it?

    * Do you find Affliciton Warlock dps in PvP where it should be?

    *As a caster if im trained ,lets say rogue+dk, i cant get a cast off, maybe make melee interruptions on a higher CD, or just remove spell pushback?

    *You changed immolate so we cant have UA and immo on same target, so where is the dispell protection for immolate? maybe bring back immolate and SL to aff rotation ?

    *As a debuffer class we have 3 dots UA/corruption/curse like i said above maybe bring back those 2 dots or give us some new spells?

    * Are you happy with affliction in pvp at the moment?

    *You removed magical resistance from locks to give to mages, maybe add the same effect as mage armor to demon armor but to physical? or something like "whenever you suffer from physical dmg you get X % less dmg from physical strikes stacks X times to a total of 10%" do in 3s cleave teams dont tunnel vision a lock and really have to switch like all other teams and in 2s we arent always the target against melee and they actually need to switch like all ranged.

    * Is there any idea to move master demonologyst in the tree and maybe reduce the amount of talents needed? would help a lot

    * is there any chance to get simphon life back ? just 3 dots in pvp is way too low

    * If we dont get simphon life back , maybe buff drain life a little bit, would that be op in pvp?

    * As an affliction lock from burning crusade, i think now we have way too much cast time, do you feel the same way as i do? maybe make UA or Haunt instant?

    * Are you happy with the changes to armors ? maybe merge them or like i said above buff demon armor or at least put them out of global cooldown.

    *this next question is not only a lock problem but mostly a lock problem: is it inteded to be killed in 1 stun with 2 dps on me and my healer spamm healing me? talking about rogue+feral druid/ret pally/warr/dk etc.

    * is it intended that rogue vs warlock is the most unbalanced 1v1 there is allowing a rogue to kill you even before you have time to fake cast ? i mean in bc a lock could win if got a fear off by fake casting, now fake casting is useless ( i know you balance around 3v3 but if a rogue can kill a lock in 7/10 secs in 1v1 just add another melee like feral druid and lock is doomed in 1 stun)

    * You guys said that you wanted us to be more like mages and escape , then changed opinion ( dont get me wrong but i prefer tank it too) and said that we would tank melee classes like in BC, do you honestly think that warlocks can tank anything at all at the moment with all this melee dmg output? If so please say how

    edited this loads of times cause at the moment lock problems in pvp are way too many and i just keep reminding everytime i get out of an arena game

    Personally i find it "cluttered" for lack of a better word, and i notice many talents that feel outdated or obsolete.

    The Infernal: have the development team ever considered this pet becoming a contruct and changing its function to one akin of the ebon gargoyle(obviously lowering its damage and cooldown to tune it)

    Critical strikes: Has there ever been a plan to give locks a bit more benefit from crit(new affliction aside to a degree), haste seems to be the order of the day. Specifically have the design team ever considered a) periodic immolate crits or b) a %DoT on crit effect for destruction?

    I'm also interested to hear the developers plans for the pets, especially the Imp, Succubus and Felhunter. The Felguard feels nice, but some of my hunter friends have been concerned at the DPS output of my felguard and how it stacks up to, and at times betters, the DPS of their exotic pets which cost 10 more talent points and a greater degree of effort to maintain.

    Will we see demons scaling with their masters crit and haste values at any point and how does Blizzard feel the demons are performing, in comparison with 1) the controlling lock (how much % of the dps they do), 2) their hunter and death knight counterparts and 3) each other.

You see deathknight pulling out their third pet, warriors having bladestorm ect, warlock have no cd witch helps the "nuke" in any way, aswell as our pets keep dying, it would be nice if they nuke our pet, that we could take out infernal. That way people would think twice about killing it in the first place.

    If we put up a curse in raid PvE that is mostly one cast per encounter, nothing engaging at all. Paladins are (among other things) a buff class where warlocks are a debuff class. Their system got more quality of play with the "Hand" spells mixed in. These kind of emergency cooldowns would make the warlock curse system something more fun.

    Separating damage and utility curses could easily happen on this basis as well.

    * Demonic Portal/Teleport was an amazing spell added to the Warlock's survivability spells. However without it already being set down and in a proper position, it's entirely useless and a Warlock is a sitting duck. Are there any plans on making more "on the go" defensive spells for Warlocks? I'm thinking along the lines of Frost Nova, Blink and such which don't require to be setup.

    * It seems that the melee mobility is being scaled with Frost mages' ability to kite them in mind, do you feel that there might be an issue considering Warlocks haven't been gaining additional tools to kite melee beside Demonic Teleport which is countered by Death Grip and Charge?

    * Is there any chance of having Demonic Teleport usable while stunned in the near future?

    * Do you find Warlock's Fear balanced in the current PvP despite the many different immunities and breakers across the broad?

    * When talking about Fear, do you have any plans of raising the amount of damage a target can take from dots again?

    * Have you considered making non dots do 50% less damage to a Feared target and bring the cap back up to where it once was, so Warlocks' primary defensive spell can be used once again?

    * Do you find Affliciton Warlock dps in PvP where it should be?

    * Are there any plans of giving Affliction tree a bit of burst to help finishing off people with the low Fear damage cap? The tree seems to have issues with finishing off people in a world where almost every healer got shields and hots.

    * Have you considered making Searing Pain more attractive for Affliction, somehow scaling the damage with the amount of DoTs currently on the target to give Affliction Warlocks a direct damaging spell beside 3 sec Shadow Bolt casts?

    * Are there any plans on reintroducing Immolate stacking with Unstable Affliction and Siphon Life being castable again? Affliction's PvE rotation isn't very complicated, and Affliction is not being used in a serious PvE due to inferior DPS and no unique debuffs?

    * What exactly is the point of the new cool looking Shadowflame spell?

    * Are there any plans of adding some kind of baseline utility to Shadowflame, possibly giving it an inbuildt snare intead of requiring an already very demanding Major Glyph spot?

    * WIth the current Pet survivability, are there any changes incoming regarding the Feldom talent? 15 min. CD seems very outdated when you look at the other pet classes, especially the way Death Knights summon their ghoul.

    * When talking about TBC, having superior health compared to anyone else and being able to tank melee, are there any plans on increasing the health gained via Haunt, Siphon Life talent and Drain Life? Do you agree that one of the reasons why Warlocks tanked so well was because they had a fair amount of constant selfhealing ontop of decent armor reduction, SL and talents alike?
