Would you consider any of the following changes?

- Evocation should either make the mage immune to damage for its duration or work as an innervate-type effect. For a talent so vital for maintaining our mana bars it is shamefully flimsy and too easy to break, both in PvE and PvP.

- Consider removing the hypothermia debuff: this is an outdated mechanic, and in the current state of PvP can cause serious problems.

- If invisibility is to retain its "blindfold" effect then the time taken for it to take effect should be removed, not just when specced arcane.

- Mana gem should either produce a larger stack or be scratched, being replaced by a spell with the same cooldown as mana gems which return a quick burst of mana.

- In all honesty some of the changes which glyphs make for mage spells feel like they should be standard even without the glyph, such as with mage armor.

- AoE uses far too much mana.

- A dampen magic or amplify magic that effects the whole raid please!

- It would be nice if mirror images design were changed to throw people off more effectively in PvP.

- Spellsteal really needs looking at: it costs far too much mana to spam in PvP in order to take just one buff off an enemy player (Hand of Freedom is a big one against Paladins).

- Considering shatter combos lye at the heart of damage in PvP as frost, why are frost novas so ridiculously easy to break out of?

- Cone of Cold needs to do much more damage.

- I try to avoid using mana shield whenever I can: I can't afford to let a significant chunk of my mana pool disappear to save me a few thousand health.

- The stats given by PvP mage gear need to be looked at: why is it not loaded with haste? Most arena mages are using T7.5 pants and shoulders purely to try and stack up the haste that they need to get frostbolts off which for some reason isn't provided by the PvP set pieces.

- WHY in gods name do healthstones and mana gems share a cooldown??

Mages are a kite pvp class that favors low scale burst instant damage, or "High" cast damage.

The current mechancis of PvP are not offensive caster friendly, since things die out very fast,even with 1K resilience and 20K hp.
Infact,things are so unfriendly for casters,that most rely completly upon instants to survive and to dps, unless they have some immunity mechanics ( think holy paladins).

In addition, currently mage gear pvp wise is out-dated.

The -0.15 seconds on polymorph as well as the 50% pushback reduction are outdated,and need to be replaced with something that reflects the current and ever changing nature of the game.

So, for the questions :

What are the plans to buff up the mage surviveability as a kiter caster class vs. the ever increasing anti snare mechanics of melee ?

What are the plans to buff up the mage damage as frost, to offer on par damage like destruction warlocks, arcane mages,and ofcourse _every_ melee dps ?

What are the plans to buff up the mage mana regeneration that we seem to be lacking of in compared to other classes ?

What are the plans to buff up a mage chance vs. a healer ? As we are currently the only class that has so many problems killing a healer due to the fact we rely on LoS almost completly and our healer CC mechanic fall short.

Having arena frames turned on allows us to see our enemies in Arena except for when they are stealthed. Which is right!

When we pop mirror images we should have similar greyed out effect on arena frames like stealths get so the mirrors can do they job of confusing the enemy.

Why give us a mirrors then give the enemy the abililty to target us directly from there standard blizzard tools on their UI ?

PvP questions from a frost mage point of view

-Why can’t we have some pieces of silk raiment with haste instead of crit on them?

-Why do we get so little hit on the pvp gear? Gemming hit really sucks

-Why isn’t there more variety on the caster pvp rings?

-Why are 2 of our most important frost talents RNG based? (fingers of frost and brainfreeze)

-Why does sheep still heal the affected target?

-Is spellsteal getting looked at? Mana, efficiency, resist rates, number of buffs stolen, what buffs it steals?

-Why is shatter 50% and not 100% when we get completely screwed in arena if our most important burst setup fails?

-Why are the glove bonus and 4 set Silk raiment bonuses so bad compared to other classes?

-Any changes to mirror image? Right now the spell is pretty much useless

- Why can’t we see other players when invisible?

-Why is icy veins the only frost talent that protects casts against interrupts?

-Why does mage armor affect all magic effects by 50% and not just harmful effects? It really is too weird not being able to magically cc a mage. That counts for mage v mage as well

2. Do Blizzard plan to expand Arcane Stability talent to other Arcane spells (Evocation, Polymorph)? Mainly most of AOE magical damage is more or less resistable, still this does a full pushback. Is it in plans of Blizzard to implement a dependency from pushback/magic resistance?
3. Considering most of Ulduar mechanics, lot of movement, how Blizzard considers Arcane tree? Do Blizzard thinks damage output of an Arcane Mage stays in line with other DPS classes?

Are there plans to implement a mage-only mount? I'm referring to the much-discussed "Pony". More to the point: Are there plans to implement changes in mage class mechanics? It's been a while since the Arcane-tree got its much-needed rewamp (good job! now make its damage scale as well as fire!).

After playing a bit with alts (lock+priest) I notice I have much more choice in what abilities to use; the toolbox seems more 'complete'/'complex'. When returning to my mage, I feel I have few viable specs - each with few viable abilities to use. Outside the choice of armor, there is next to no 'situational' spells. Is this because I, as a 4-year old mage, am too used to min/max'ing? Or is this a viable concern shared by the developers? (I don't even know if this concern shared by other altoholic mages.)

I've skimmed through most posts and they contain alot of what I'd ask but will reiterate the once I feel is important for me and also add a few I didn't find.

1. Caster base stats dps increase vs melee base stats dps increase.
Why is melee base stats such as STR and AGI more benefitial to their dps increase then what base stats such as INT and SPI is to casters? (Yeah I know, it's not only a mage issue but still).

2. When is Arcane Intellect/Arcane Brilliance get a buff to actually make it worth anything at all?
Comparing Arcane Brilliance (+60 INT) to Improved Fortitude (+216 STA talented), the first is negliable in raids while the 2nd is great and has the added bonus of actually boosting all classes where as INT only boosts casters.

3. Have your raid encounter designers thought about the reduction in damage overall for caster classes with long cast times, most notable mages?
Seeing as almost all encounters in Ulduar requires movement and we're needing to be lucky with hot streak to be able to keep DPS while moving. Thought, maybe boost Fire Blast since it's use in raiding is limited due to long CD as well as wasting GCD.

4. Caster vs Melee damage scaling.
This is poor in PvP and has been for a very long time. We are also starting to see it in end game raiding due to several related issues.

5. Melee vs Caster threat issues.
Our melee dpsers can normally squeeze out a ton more damage than me without having threat issues where as I am limited fairly much by threat and still can't keep up with their damage output. Is the game supposed to be melee dominated?

6. Mage mana pool vs Healer Mana pool.
Why is it that our mana pool is so small compared to healer mana pools?

7. Caster damage scaling from spellpower compared to healing scaling from spellpower.
Why is it that we can spend thousands of mana to deal damage to a target and the same amount of damage can be healed with a fast and cheap spell to totally waste our mana pool?

8. Mage mana regen.
No, we're not meant to have infinite mana but can we atleast be able to nuke with the mana we have AND not have evocation be interrupted by a random AoE effect leading to us being dead weight?

9. Raid survivability.
With all the raid AoE in Ulduar I'm curious to know how our survivability can be improved seeing that our stamina is very low.

10. Why does Mages still need to stack the most stats/attributes of all classes in the game, leading to us essentially being gimped compared to any other class?
Mages basically need items with STA, INT, SPI, spellpower, spellcrit, spellhaste and spellhit. That is 7 different attributes. No other class even come close.

11. Is Blink ever going to be fixed?

12. Why can't Mages, masters of the arcane powers, not dispel magic? This has eluded me for as long as the game has existed.

Last I'd like to quote a few things from other posts:

"After starting in Ulduar I feel like mage DPS is starting to fall behind, other pure classes and even hybrids. What are your thoughts on the current state of mage DPS?"

"Where did the concept of "glass canons" go?"

"Fix aoe (glass cannon or aoe kings - we've been neither since vanilla)"

At the moment Mages are pretty much made of glass but the cannon part is fading fast.

Please make frost pve viable. Give deep freeze some kind of use. Some kind of rotation would be nice too. Inflate the numbers a little so I can be a water-elemental-watching damage dealer. Thanks.

Why is that that warriors/pallys/dk'z = tanking classes get passive faster run speed then casters who generally are built 2 get away not just stand there and take it like a "man". I realize this is done so Tankz can pickup the mobs quicker after each pull but it's ruining kiteing in pvp.

When are u going 2 fix this class it's utterly incomphriensible that we're still using so old mechanicz and many issues have been ignored since the game launched. Why are mages always the last class 2 get seriously looked @? Are we so broken that none will touch us?

Bloddy Hell Finally Someone understood.

Im Mainly a PVE mage, Wish used Frost Build on TBC, but im free to use Frostfirespec/Arcane spec to do PVE mainly raids.

I'm atm using arcane Spec mainly, and during fights where i need to be healed and the heals are not enough it's a bit irritating to make the choise Mana gem/ healthstone Cd. its either not having mana for the fight or just Die. either ways its Completly Wrong.

Also i Do admit That Mages/locks in general were the best AOEr's in TBC. Why Suddently a Class like mage wish is suposed to be 1 of the best AOE classes Is Doing lol Aoe dmg compared to Rogues and DK(huge lol for these ones) and Druids Feral DPS?? It's like ok 1 single target these Classes shoudl all be the same but on aoe?? how can i beeing a mage let's say Blizzard Compared to seed of corroption why i see their critcs beeing 3x higher then mine? don't get me wrong its not about my gear, i tought that as well till i got full valorous and still checking the same.

Also I think its a Bit unfair to see Classes like DK/druids/paladins/shadow priests that are classes that can Tank/dps/heal Doing more Dmg then Pure DPS Specs?? is this for real? When i want to respec and have a diferent perspective of the game i need to be always DPS so im suposed to have some advantage on it i recon.

About Frost Builds. I think its more then enough time to Stop making this spec a "PVP only spec" like i said before i can only be DPS, so i would really like to know If i am alowed to have the same advantage with all my 3 possible Specs in PVE (RAIDS)??


Should for example having an improved Blizzard Dmg on Frost build be a possible solutions for AOE mages??

maybe 1 single tick should be enough to have full Winter chill + some extra critic?


Im just Tired of seeing the mages to be the last one beeing changed.

I admit On the original World of warcraft mages where the best classes to do PVP, but pls, several years have pass and i still think That all the changed that were done were simply to Screw the mages on PVP, And those changed are now Making us to go low on the DMG meter Tables on the PVE.

Why are you so worried about frostmages having damage? No other spec in wow is forced to be crap in pve to be balanced in pvp. I thought you were trying to make all specs viable everywhere?
Rogues can be mutilates in both, Dks can be unholy in both, warlocks can be destro in both, etc etc

Why are we punished? Frost damage really is shocking, basically the person has to be in a nova to do damage compared to other classes. Frostbolt hits for max 6k where as melee calsses can hit that instantly why? >.<

Just give us some damage outside nova, with frost mages insane 13% crit actually doing damage without a target frozen is pitiful. 2.5k damage for a 2.5 second cast brah!
