Fixed it for you. And also gave you the reason it is low population (yes.. I played there)

And try testing next time.. There is practically no delay on the chat only on the 3d world

on the other side, wg been 00:00 at start since last night, we finally have 50/50 win/loss ratio..

FINALLY, BALANCED PVP

This is the point where i laugh at theorycraftists.

50/50 win ratio in WG actually means the PvP is the most imbalanced its ever been.

(Think about it for a second.................................1, time up)

Because it means the attackers are winning every time ;)

There ! Did i what ? See you did !

We have the exact same problem on Stormscale, at peak times when WG everyone in Northrend is lagging and often the whole Northrend server goes down :<

It's a mess this weekend again, everytime WG is up, the northrend worldserver is on the edge of crashing, 5 secs of lag allover the place. Let alone that WG itself isn't playable at all.

Bumped for the greater good of Kazzak, better than making tickets ingame, don't you agree GM's?
Better to answer or make a post on General again regarding these issues than to having to answer all those individual tickets tbh :P

the people most affected by this are those in wg itself, in the past few weeks when i've been online almost 24/7 ( except the past 2 days) i didnt see wg dc the whole server or really make an impact of those outside wg

Yes its very unplayable for us in wg, and its not fun ( except at 3 am) but the solution is not to close the place or make it an instance. I wouldnt go if it was an isntance would be boring

Q u o t e:
I love how you have all diagnosed Blizzards issue for them. The server is full, the patch is to blame, the lag is due to too many connections, bla bla bla. I find it so amusing that people who arent anything to do with the company at all think they know exactly what the issues are and cant understand why they arent being fixed right away. You people amaze me at your lack of knowledge for business.

are you thick mate? every night several hundred people pile into that frakking horrible zone and it turns the entire northrend world server to crud.

please don't tell me its imagination BECAUSE IT AINT.

Q u o t e:
It always lags, it also lags for those playing all over northrend.
Today was epic , we got about 200 alliance players into WG in attack mode, we managed to get the first maingate to 95% HP! simply because none was able to launch a shot with siege vehicles, due the massive lag, about 30 secs spelldelay. I was suprised the world server didn't crash even.

Anyhow blizzard, this has been like this since the start, at least on Kazzak.
You addressed these issues, but still you fail to fix em.

The solution is simple: instance WG, buy new servers for it.
Or simple close it down, the lottery bosses in VOA are no loss either!

Regarding those new servers, Ulduar could use some more hardware resources too on Kazzak, it's been lagging inside since the release almost every evening during peak hours.

Last night we had 5 world server crashes 20-25 minutes into the fight so WG reseted every time.
We had to defend WG for 2 hours. Then there was like 500 people near the fortress walls, i didnt notice how i died but ressing took me about 15 minutes and i ended up ressurecting on different GY when we already lost.

On Twisting Nether at every WG battle it lags, even lags the whole of Northrend most of the time.
It's completely unplayable, we lose every defensive game (goes like that for both factions) cause of the lag.

So please please shut WG off until it's fixed :(

Q u o t e:
We have seen a spike in the amount of players participating in Lake Wintergrasp battles since patch 3.1 was released. We have tried implementing measures to increase the amount of fighting going on around the southern towers to spread people in the zone out, but that's not going to help if the zone as a whole is packed full of participants.

There's been a great deal of discussion here at Blizzard about ways to potentially decrease the server strain caused by such large numbers of players in Wintergrasp. It almost makes me nostalgic over all of the posts I had read before the expansion came out where players theorized this place was to be a ghost town within a month of its release. :)

Some things to consider for those that would claim to know the solution to this:

1) The entire selling point of Lake Wintergrasp is that it is not an instanced battleground. A lot of the cool features of Wintergrasp and the Vault wouldn't be so neatly realized if this place were a 40 vs. 40 instance.

2) Putting in very restrictive thresholds to keep out excessive numbers of players defeats the purpose of having an open PvP zone. There might be a reasonable solution to this end, but it will take very careful consideration.

3) Buying new hardware is not such a simple answer as many would claim. For one, the hardware of our realms is quite top-of-the-line. If upgrades were possible here and there, the acquisition and implementation of new hardware would take months. It's not an entirely unrealistic solution, but it certainly would not alleviate any of the lag we're seeing in the short term.

We have noticed an increase in the amount of players doing Wintergrasp since the launch of patch 3.1. We have implemented changes to the zone in order to spread players out more in the zone as a whole, for example increasing the amount of fighting that takes place around the southern towers. These changes however, do not have a large impact if the zone as a whole is packed full of players.

We have been discussing to great lengths about ways to potentially lower the server load caused by large amounts of players in Wintergrasp. The problem is not as easy to fix as some players who claim to know the "solution" might think.

The whole point of Wintergrasp is that it is a world PvP zone, and not an instanced battlefield. A lot of the zone's design and features would not play out as well if the zone was, for example, a 40v40 instanced battlefield.

Simply "buying more servers" or "upgrading our hardware" is not such a simple solution as people might think. We do see players suggesting this, and wanted to point a few things out in that regard:

a) The hardware our realms are running on is already quite top-of-the-line.
b) If upgrades where possible here and there, acquisition and implementation of new hardware would take months. It is not entirely unrealistic to upgrade hardware as part of the solution, however, it most certainly would not help alleviate any of the lag issues we are seeing in the short term.

For now, all we can say is that we are actively looking into solutions for the lag issues in Wintergrasp, and will continue to implement measures while looking into other possible solutions that might help alleviate the issue.
