post trace routes as detailed in the stickies.

Also be aware VM do use traffic shaping to cap customers who go over a certaim amount of bandwidth and taht will certainly cause lag

My Connection is fine for everything else, apart from world of warcraft, and it doesn't lag at all until it disconnects

Vigin Media are straight up awful. In fact, there was a point last year where I was unable to connect to Warcraft at all from 9pm til 7am or so. Also your bandwidth consumption does play a massive part in the kind of service you'll get from them. I can't imagine their service being any much better now than it was a year ago (I have since switched ISPs, it was that bad. Never as bad as Orange, though.)

To cut a long story short, I am with Virgin media and since patch 3.1 this game has been almost unplayable for me due to latency/fps. I have been speaking to virgin media almost every day since the patch to determine where the problem lies and it got to the stage where I was about to cancel their service as my contract was up for renewal, I stated my reason for canceling was due to the problems I’m having with WoW so the customer service made an appointment with a “broadband specialist” for me.

The specialist gave me a call back 2 days later and explained that Virgin have been having problems with Telia for over 12 months now due to Telia de-prioritizing Virgin Media customers which results in us (VM customers) getting huge latency and spikes which can in some cases result in DC’s, he also explained that the problem starts once the routing crosses the channel and hits Telia's & that this was the problem not shortly after 3.1 when customers could not access WoW at all via logging in. When I asked him to raise it as a fault with Telia, he stated that unless Virgin have a few hundred customers in the same position, Telia only brush it aside as a problem not worth dealing with.

I have the “specialists” direct line number (which is very unusual for virgin) and check with him daily to see if there is any update but so far not enough people have complained to raise it as a fault, in fact he has gone as far to say that its only me in my area that has complained so all I can say is that you guys really need to get on the phone and kick up a storm (no matter which ISP you are) as the more complaints they get, the more likely they (Telia) are to act on the complaints from other ISP’s.

Before anyone asks, yes I have taken all the usual steps of updating drivers, removing add-ons etc I even went as far as formatting and doing a “bare bones” install just to prove a point that it wasn’t the machine causing the insane spikes that go as high as 21k.

Thanks, that is the best response to date. Where do I go to complain about Telia?

Why do we, as the customers of both Virgin and WoW have to chase up this CRAP! I am paying a monthly subscription to both companies and I only ask for a normal service.

Im using Virgin media aswell - living in hertfordshire which is south east and I have been recieving connection problems aswell, wouldnt surprise me if virgin was somewhat to blame there just rubish in most aspects.

Virgin media is also in favour of that net nuetrality thing which makes it possible for them to redirect us from a site we wished to go too, onto another that offers the same thing (IE if you went too the coca cola website you may get redirected to pepsi) based on companies paying them cash to do so on there behalf. - thats a really bad thing but ofcourse virgin would love the extra cash.

I also here that Virgin media is facist, and believes in the slaughter of innocent children, but cant find evidence to back me up on that, so dont quote me for it!

I pay 9 pounds a month just like everyone else! I should get a challenge out of end game content too!

same problem with me, since patch 3.1 latency and lag spikes are killing raiding and bgs.

If I reset my router and wifi my latency comes down to 50ms which is what it averaged prepatch. Over the next 30 mins is steadily gets worse until it is unplayable. Bah!!!!

Time to get on the dog and bone and complain. For reference also south east based (London).
