Is this "how many melee can you fit into raid" boss? I thought healers have it bad, but Warlocks are OOM in 1 minute. No life tap, no clouds = raid kick and get melee instead. Retarded.

Is it normal that casters are useless here? Even with them doing nothing until the add spawns and then trying to zerg it down with a Bloodlust they were oom at 30%. Maybe nerf the adds hp a little, or give it some sort of mana regeneration ability. Stopping Vezax casting while add is up would be another good plan, as running after him to do a kick makes it near impossible to safely dps the add, so you effectively lose 2 dps'ers.

Seemed to be tuned for players with Ulduar gear, which well might be the point(we had shirts) but the first kills will be complete melee zergs and i don't think you want that :)



As post above says, could go live the way it is but dont expect much(if any) kills in the first few weeks.

First of all, as Ret it felt great. JotW works perfectly fine, no mana problems at all.
But my prayers are with my sad sad panda-mages and panda-wls.

Best Try was something about 50% but there was some progress to see...

Due to not enough people for 25 man, and some connection issues we startet relatively late, so only got some 5-6 Trys.
Seemed fun indeed, but i imagine lots of finetuning regarding manaregeneration of caster classes is needed here, even though exessive usage of Shadow Crash is obligatory.

This fight goes against every statement you have made during beta/wotlk.

You have said time and time again, that you wan to avoid raid stackin in any form, that you want to bring the player instead of the class and now you make an encounter that will be compeltly melee zerged the first 10 kills for every guild.

As a warlock you can respecc to dark pact and do quite good dps, as a mage you are pretty much ***************. We can repsecc to some obstruse Frostspec and still do no dmg at all. It is frustrating as hell.

It remembers me of Brutallus, get 5 Shamans or gtfo, only here it is get 10+ melee dps or gtfo.

PS: tested the 10er version. All T7.5+ equipped, atleast half the party had black/plagued protodrake.

Look, if you combine boobs like mine with the WoW Soundtrack, the Awesomeness Quotient spikes so high that the universe implodes. I exercise tremendous restraint to ensure that this does not happen.

Tested in 10man. Lineup: (all endgame geared, so 213/226 items, additional Shirt of Uber)

Tank Druid (on Vezax)
Tank DK (on the void mob)
Resto Druid
Disc Priest (first Holy)
Holy Paladin
Retribution Paladin
Elemental Shaman
Rogue
Warlock
Shadow Priest

After a try where we tested if there are more then 8 spawns of the Saronite thing, we found at that there are exactly 8 (maybe make them immun to aoe damage or decrease the aoe damage taken, it sucks when they fly through the melees, especially with a retribution paladin. But not really necessary, because you can kite him away) so we changed the tactic.

We get to phase 2 in nearly every try with >50%+ mana on our healers but lost players to Shadow Crash's initial damage but after we figured out, that it is most of the time announced (he targets the player) we had a few very good tries, unfortunately our best try was ended when the Vezax tank botched the Surge of Darkness.

The melee damage of Vezax seems to be decreased, and this was really necessary. I think with an functional boss mod, which announces the Shadow Crashs, they should be no real problem.

I think the boss is ok in his current state, but maybe the mana limitations should be thought over. I first started as Holy Priest, but my mana was a lot of faster going down than the mana of our paladin/druid, so I switched to Disc. Because Rapture returns the normal amount of mana when PW:S is consumed, it was a lot easier to be able to keep up with the other healers.

Please reconsider this way of putting hardmode, sure we had raidstacking before but not in this scale, try different mechanic than this because it won't work well. Maybe try doing what you did at mimiron (the red button)

in one try where we got him to 40 and the add to about 80% i was first on dmg meter, with 5999dps and 1about 1.3mill dmg done.
its really about speccing right ;)

Most "clever game mechanics" eventually get removed. I wouldn't count on this one to be any different.

Unless it was changed, it's -20% attack speed (I didn't actually look at the debuff tonight).

But yeah, I think they need to adjust the hardmode settings for this boss one way or another.

This, better mechanic would be to increase cost of all mana abilities by 200% and by standing inside clouds you would be able to regenerate 1000 mana for 1000 damage. (because of the changes, around 2-3x more than that)

It would surely make it easier for casters.

edit: But yeah for the cost of still being able to regenerate mana the boss would need to be slightly harder (talking around 5% harder)

bad idea because you can't use them as a healer and go oom just as fast :(
