Straight question...
Due to doing the Battle of Undercity quest at the end of wrathgate in Northrend.. Varimathras has been removed from the game as far as my Deathknight is concerned.
Well now i'm going for Loremaster and what i need to know is:
Is loremaster of the eastern kingdoms possible still without varimathras to complete quests such as 'battle for hillsbrad' final quest, and indeed any quests in which he was the starter NPC for them?
So there you go.. a straight question, anyone got any encouraging answer?

Aside from the hand in at the end of battle for hillsbrad. which needed to go to varimathras..
There is also these which wowwiki says he was the quest 'starter' for:
The Power to Destroy
An Unholy Alliance
Into the Scarlet Monastery
The Crimson Courier
So this is really just the tip of the iceberg i guess..
Well, unfortunately this whole battle for undercity removes varimathras from the game if you complete it, so i really hope that Loremaster is still possible 'without' these quests. Otherwise, i for one am not gonna be a happy gamer for much longer

Should be doable. My Death Knight has Loremaster, and she hasn't done any Start/Scholo quests. So, assuming those count for it (which they should), they'll take the place of those now undoable.
Kalimdor was far harder as Horde, as requires pretty much everything available., including instances. My Death Knight finished Kalimdor on Dire Maul quests.

EK is easaly done without him. I didnt hand in 1 q to him and didnt have the q:s from silverpine (they counted as Kalimdor before) and still have a bunch of q:s left in EK.
So don´t worry about EK, Kalimdor is much harder to complete.

This matter is one we're certainly aware of and plans for Varimathras' quests (hand in and collections) are being looked into so they can be collected/completed after having completed the event that alters his presence in Undercity.

I completed mine yesterday (EK and kalimdor), and i only started to work on it after the wrathgate. It's definately a lot harder to do it without his quests, but i think it would be fair to say it's doable, i still have some few undone quests i could go do that i know off, but you probably have to look hard for them, they are not in obvious places. (this is the case with the last 20 or so) I did most of my onyxia chain quest, found a lot of quests that starts from items, did pretty much all the quests i could find in dungeons, and i finally did it! i'm off to complete outlands and the final zone in northrend soon!
I could be a little worried about The Seeker without varimathras, but this is not a valid problem for me yet, and perhaps blizzard comes up with a solution to it, as they seem to be aware of the problem now :)

I achieved Loremaster without touching half of Searing Gorge or Stranglethorn Vale, so I'd certainly say that Varimathras being available doesnt matter.
And as for the Seeker title, I actually got this one even before completing Loremaster so thats even simpler.

Thats quite the relief. Saw all kinds of warning posts about the battle for undercity 'after' i had done the event, so was really hoping that loremaster would not pretty much cover nearly every quest in the continent :)

i think its about 90% till 95% of all quest in zone(on Outland&Northrend) so ya can skip about half a zone in clasic and still get it

Just an update:
I have now done Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and also Loremaster of Kalimdor with no worries about running out of quests at all. The eastern kingdoms is really easy compared to kalimdor.
The missing varimathras quests and hand-ins did not impact my overall goal, so for anyone else working on loremaster, it is possible.. very much so.

Finished Loremaster acheivement saturday just gone.
Kalimdor i think was the only main grind for it, but thanks to wowhead and the 'easy to miss' quests post on this forum was able to complete it in the end.
need about 61 or so more quests now to get 'the seeker', so i guess thats next.

I was also wondering about this since I reached the end of Battle of Hillsbrad yesterday, good to know it can still be done without Varimathras in phase.

Any word or update? I have 5 quests that I need to turn into Varimathras. Even a tombstone where he should be would be good.
