As many of you know the next major content patch will include some very exciting things, such as Ulduar, a new epic raid dungeon, a wealth of new items, and much more. We thought players would especially enjoy reading just a few of the class changes we're currently planning. Please keep in mind, that this list is not at all comprehensive, and more importantly subject to change.
  • Hunger for Blood – instead of a self-buff, this ability can only be used when there is a bleed effect on the target. However, it has no stacks and grants a 15% damage bonus.
  • Adrenaline Rush – the cooldown on this ability has been lowered.
  • Lightning Reflexes – reduced to 3 ranks. In addition to 2/4/6% dodge, this talent now also grants 4/7/10% passive melee haste.
  • Killing Spree – while this ability is active, the rogue does 20% additional damage.
  • Savage Combat – now causes 2/4% physical damage done.
  • Mace Specialization – this talent now grants haste in addition to armor penetration.

new buffs new problems, how the hell we suposed to combine fist/sword specc with lightning reflexes, any sugestions are welcome

he he...combat finally buffed...I'll just repeat what I said before, I feel so good sticking with Combat through some hard times...:)

Figure out which one is highest DPS, and spec that :)

Couple of obvious questions:
- Whats the timer & Enrgycost on HfB?
- If it's still nagging-girlfriend-30-seconds (WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH!), did you at least get rid of the sound?
- What's the new CD on AR?
- Does Savage Combat keep its +AP bonus?
- Will haste & armor penetration stop sucking as DPS stats?

- Any chance we'll see stacking rupture, or full rupture refreshes with low CP?
- Any chance the anti-synergy between Mutilate and FA+Poisons concerning Weaponspeeds will be fixed?
- Any chance we'll see longer bossfights in which mana-management actually becomes an issue?
- Any chance we'll see the return of the old find weakness?
- Any chance we'll see RS reduced to 3 points?

- Since you will be buffing other classes too: do you think the above changes will suffice to put us in a position where we can realistically reach for a top-DD position again?

changes look VERY boring, in particular that haste part for combat *yawn*. at least you changed a useless talent into a boring one, a small success.

also no HAT love - give HAT rogues some self sustainability, raise crit chance of hemo by talents somehow (puncturing wounds for pvp eventually). hemo needs some love and increasing its crit chance wouldnt effect HAT pve at all until party members in a raid die which is the case where HAT needs some ideas anyway. and it would certainly help hemo in pvp.

Rogues are good in pve, with good gear and muti spec...

A bad little kid moved into my neighborhood. He won't do nothing right just sitting down and looks so good. He don't want to go to school and learn to read and write.

can someone clarify this for me:

Killing Spree - Will it do what it does now +20% damage increase

OR

Will it cancel the effect it has now (stepping in the shadows 5 assaults both weapon attack) and just add 20% damage increase

should make combat > mutilate again (which i dont like... rogue=dagger)


overall all this tells me is that:

1. we will suck atleasat till 3.1 . gratz blizz for making rogue pve crap³ for a whole tier. sure tweak hunters,mages,warriors 2nd and 3rd trees before tweaking even ONE rogue tree. fu

2. if they dont do ALOT more we will still suck compared to other pures and some/most hybrids.

3. HAT will remain the best dps spec.which sucks.




yes those are buffs. but not in the right direction.. (except making lolreflexes a decent talent and finally reducing AR cd).
overall im very disappointed. i expected a nice overhaul that would bring us onpar with mages etc and maybe even bring hfb to its former beta glory (hi mobility) and a shadowdance remake(+shs,hemo,cd unnerfs) to have an alternate pvp specc.

instead we now know that we will keep sucking for more months and that we better start getting big wpns isntead of daggers again like in BC where we dissed most daggers...

Hat will not remain best dps spec, mutilate IS the best dps spec ATM. And after patch combat will be better than HAT too. I dont say it will overdamage mutilate or hunters or smthing, but actually it will be better than it is now.

Am not sure about that, though. 10% haste and savage combat "buff" isnt enough tbh. We'll see...

A bad little kid moved into my neighborhood. He won't do nothing right just sitting down and looks so good. He don't want to go to school and learn to read and write.

No I am not. I am raiding with muti spec and my friend rogue is raiding with HaT spec, I am equal dps to him. And look at my gear and friends gear. He has full t7.5 full 213lvl items. If I would have same gear and better daggers, I would own him in dps every fight.

I lol'd. We suck in PvE atm no matter what the gear or spec.

I speak from experience. No hope in competing with the equal geared fury warriors / mages / huntters / elemental shamans.

Check my armory if you doubt me.
(Wearing the wrong dagars atm. I have murder + WD for raiding.)

On-topic: The changes to combat look pretty nice... Luckily Calamitys Grasp dropped for me last naxx so I can try it out in 3.1.0 :)

with that specc i could do massive aoe dmg on trash and decent dmg on bosses, on trash i just auto-attacked a random mob so i could generate energy via OH procs (with extra sword procs) i could almost spam FoK, that ofc requires imba tank or you to use TotT (wich i dont ;p ), but i was happy with the dmg output in general, now with the new Lightning reflexes i have to choose fist/dagger or sword specc.
