Hi guys!

I just wanted to hear, whether or not you are having an equal amount of trouble with vanish breaking as I am? Or maybe I'm just bad at vanishing at the right times, idk.. Seems to me like ppl can see you like a second after you hit the vanish or something.. It's quite annoying really..

Also I've noticed that vanish/stealth breaks from the application of some debuffs, particularly Consecration.. Not the actual damage, but the initial application of it.. Is this a bug or intended? Either way it's annoying >.<

Also Cloak of Shadows seems to be broken as hell.. Instant casts getting in if cast when you pop it doesn't get removed.. Also there seems to be some kind of lag issue with popping it before someone nukes you, so that the spells will go in clean anyway..

Anyone know what I'm talking about? :(

Its a friggin' Damaging AoE, what did you expect?

When you step in to an "splatter on ground"-aoe, it takes a second or two before the actual damage ticks in.. However stealth breaks from getting the "Consecration" debuff, but no damage.. you follow ?

As far as i know Consecration, Death and Decay etc are doing dmg as soon as they land or are used.

Give the guy a break. Plus, he is right. What he means is if Consecration is used it doesn't dmg every fracking minisecond so if you walk in it, there might still be a second before it hurts you. But when you walk in it you will see the consecration message right away.

I don't think that this is true. Only lag would make you break stealth as soon as you step into Consecration/DnD -- I think. At least it used to be 100% that way before, haven't paid much attention lately.

have same problem with both of those AOEs. If i step into it for a pikosec and move out it just breaks stealth without dmg...

So: what are you guys doing differently than us?

And what got changed in the patch (erm.. 1.6? 1.8? the one were Hunter FD -> detargetting got introduced) that made vanish start failing unpredictably?

You should just follow me around while I play BGs then ;)

The problem is easily solved by adding a 0.5 sec immunity after vanish is used, however easy as this solution is, its not going to happen anyway :)

Try testing it with a mage casting ice lance at 30+ yard range at the same time as you vanish. That or a paladin using holy shock or judgement. These are the spells I notice vanish bugging out most of the time with. (In duels, I've never seen vanish work vs a frost mage that uses IL at the same time as you vanish).

It's just so frustrating to see mages invis and night elf shadowmeld work 100% (or very very close to it) of the time, but vanish breaking reliably on several spells, and completely randomly other times.

Really nice to hear that you still haven't given up on this bug, keep up the good work. :)

i've also noticed it failing on paladin a lot
once during a fight with a paladin i got out of his melee range and pressed CloS to remove his debuffs he had on me and waited carefully for 1 second before pressing vanish just so it wouldn't bug
but it did
during CloS there were no misses or hits done to me
(and my connection was 130ms)

i don't think it's connected just to damage

Try dueling a target dummy in IF, vanish fails there.

Vanish seems to break easily if you vanish and at the same time a hunter or a paladin tries an instant range attack on you, even if you vanish before they actually cast it. This is just one of many different bug scenarios.


Edit: All that's required is play a lot of PvP(that is where the "bugs" are mostt easily recreated). 2v2 or more. Also try using vanish near AoE, but still not in range of getting damage.

In IF, I've regularly vanished next to dummies, without having one targeted and without melee actions being performed before vanishing.
Only to do the arms-in-the-air-dance.
