the caster needs line of sight to start with to create a connection to the target. after that the predator and the pray are connected though said beams of death. If the pray trys to run out of LoS it doesnt matter as said predator senses where said pray is through the beam of death due to a magical bong being formed. Therefor sight is no longer needed.

Yeah if locks start drains and you move out of los then u will hit by ONE drain life and then the lock will have to chase you back into LOS etc etc etc

As I stated in another post.

Drain life/mana and other channeled spells are fine. And there is no LOS issue with them.
If a mage casts a pyroblast on a far away target in line of sight and target runs behinds a wall (out of LOS) before the pyroblasts hits, what does the pyroblast do? You guessed it right, it goes out of line of sight, behind the wall and hits the target.
Drain life is cast on a target In LOS just like the mage casts his pyroblast on a target in LOS and BOTH will follow the target out of the LOS. No difference. Try casting a drain life on a target who is already out of LOS before u cast it. It won't work.
Principle is simple: When you cast a spell (any spell, direct or channeled) on a target in LOS it will hit the target , regardless of the target running OUT OF LOS AFTER SPELL IS CAST.
The only fix drain life should need is to make drain life bend around the wall instead of giving the optilcal illusion of going through it. Channeled spells are working as intended.


Btw your other comment where you said that channeled spells dont break when you run out of range; They do break when you run out of range oviously. That said: When a mage casts a pyroblast on a target in range on a mount 35 yards away and target starts to run on his mount, then pyroblast will probably hit the target at 40-45 yards distance eventhough he's out of range at the time of the hit.

We are aware of the issue with channeled ray-type spells continuing to channel and be ray-like when the target is technically out of line of sight.

At this time this is considered be a working feature and there are currently no plans to change it.

However, we will raise this point again as it appears to have been some time since it was evaluated and there may be more viable options for its adjustment.

Please note though that we are not promising that any change will be made, just that we will ask if it can be re-evaluated at this time.

You think the play-testers and game designers are all level-headed, non-biased, 100% professionals? lol

There is a reason that locks are so dominant, there's a reason people keep calling for nerfs, there's a reason why the upcoming DoT+resilience nerf is going to be ridiculously small......and it sure isn't because locks need help!!

Hell, even their kids play lock (http://www.wowinsider.com/2007/06/13/rob-pardo-learns-from-his-daughter/).........could you nerf yours or your childs character?

Team with high roll wins.
Team with low roll posts thread on forums about how /roll could be nerfed

Or maybe I understand that people are human beings and not infallible un-biased robots who always do the right thing?

Combined with the understanding that the blizzard "suits" are all way too greedy and as such leave important decisions to 1or 2 people to make (why hire more people who will just muddy the water and cause decisions to be dragged out through procrastination?)

Put the 2 together, mix in a liberal dose of game development and VOILA : a completely unbalanced game based on developer bias.

Besides that, the amount of times a hunters arrow hitted me when I was standing behind a pillar is countless, but I'm not whinin about that cause it's working as intended, just like drainlife, changing its mechanic would change the warlock class to hard.

I translate for non-warlocks: Without this mechanic we could actually lose a fight. Imagine how imbalanced would that be!
