With the release of patch 3.0.8 we have implemented a new matchmaking system for arenas that will improve the overall system and help ensure that players will be matched against others of equal skill. The new matchmaking system uses a rating that you cannot see, and is separate for each of the arena brackets.
The rating changes at the end of each match are affected by this new system, and as it just came out, there may initially be some odd behavior in rating changes, but these will straighten out fairly quickly.
We will monitor this new system and update it as needed to help provide the best experience possible in arena matches.

The US servers are currently experiencing huge issues with this system. Some players have even said a rollback is needed due to rating gained being somewhat bugged. Is there any Blizzard decision on this?

People that's around 1500ish rating usually is laying around 2.3k.. And some experrience winning 5 games in a row.. Gaining a total of 9 arena rating.

How come we gaining 1p from teams whit the same ranking as us?
That we get 1p from newly started teams or lower i get but not the other way around, we met some low ranked team 3-4 times in a row and was taking 10-15p from them thats not really fair either!

Hello this is 2,2k+ mage/rogue s4 player here.
If this is really true and intended, I have to quit this game due no competition anymore. And I know many other people will quit too, as seen on US forums, arenajunkies, whatnot (any way only the 1,4k players will stay).
It wasn't enough to have ret palas/dk's/hunters an enormous amount of burst compared to any other class, no. You had to destroy the whole arena entirely. Appreciate it.
Thanks blizzard for ruining the last part of the non-casual and skillwise area of the whole game.

According to some people on the US-forums it seems gear also has something to say when you win/lose arena matches and personal rating, team rating,your partner's rating and how much points you get are all calculated by comparing your gear against the opposing team's gear and their team/personal rating as well (Worst sentence ever).
Others claim this is not true at all.
This could be interesting for my green/blue/epic geared rogue? :o

Wow waiting to see all dk/ret teams with blue questgears facerolling former glads/top players with 25man gear for 30 points per win!

Finally the arena system has been fixed! No more full s4 scrubs (as it was at s4) making new teams daily to face roll greengeareds at 1.5k rating just to sell teams :D
Everybody will finally have a FAIR chance to get nice gear from arena, even if they haven't played like full previous season :)
