Community: We don’t like the pre-req for Lightwell, and it doesn’t turn into a “cancel” symbol (normal placed spell out-o-range red circle crossed out) when trying to place out of range.
Blizzard: We’ll look into it.

Community: The Shadowfiend damage is being affected by target armor, was this changed and was it a bug before not being affected or was the change intentional? Also we see some amount of intelligence in the Shadowfiend that it’s acting more like a sentient pet than a dumb ‘attack closest target forever’ pet. Is there some AI involved in the targets it chooses, if and when it breaks off attacks, and what some of that criteria may be?
Blizzard: Damage from the Shadowfiend is supposed to be 100% Shadow damage. If it's being mitigated by armor, it's a bug. Shadowfiend damage will also be scaling a little with your +Shadow damage gear, just to kick it up a notch.

As far as how the Shadowfiend handles itself, it's like a regular guardian that always goes after the target you cast it on first. If that target dies, it will go after the next available target (or follow the caster).

Community: Omg, you changed the Holy Fire graphic!
Blizzard: We recently changed it back to what it was. The removal of the giant column of holy fire was unintentional.

Community: Binding Heal threat is high.
Blizzard: Binding Heal causes threat for the heal on you and the target, so it's definitely high. The community brings up a good point – we are considering reducing the threat on this spell so that only the primary portion of the heal causes threat.

Thanks for the update.. ermh. :)

One concern I've seen mentioned a lot, and one I share.

The spirit stat seems highly under-represented in the currently shown drops from TBC. Most of the gear is sta/int/mp5.

Is this something that we can expect or will it be fixed for when the game goes live?

Community: lots of chatter about spell coefficients changing in TBC, but no blue post qualifying whether the numbers are workning as intended (81% +dmg to mindflay for example)

GJ, what great news. NOOOOT.
Is this some other way off saying u are gonna ignore the priest class even more. Do u even read the posts and threads about what the priest community thinks needs to be fixed?? Doesnt seem so.
In stead u throw out some lame issues u think will keep us setteled for now!

Im getting the feeling priests coudl reroll shaman/druid or paladin in x-pac, cause they can heal equaly as well as priests, even better. So what has become off the supposedly superior healing class?? What will u do to fix that? Who would like to play the buff bot tag along in the x-pac, "Spirit and fortitude on its way" yay. Ofc there is always room for a shadow priest, so maybe there is still some hope.

Seriously, stop giving out lame so called fixes and buffs! Go read the threads about what's realy our issues! And for ONCE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM!

Perhaps good news, but look what they also have for us in TBC:

Q u o t e:
In the Burning Crusade, we’ve decided to make a fundamental change to the way spells calculate the bonus they receive from +healing and +spell damage effects and items. This is because we have seen a growing trend in using “downranking” and large amounts of +healing items, which we feel negatively impacts game balance. Downranking involves high-level players using lower level spell ranks and +healing gear to conserve mana, but maintain a high rate of healing done. Through this method, it has become possible in the live game for healing characters to heal large amounts of damage indefinitely without running out of mana. To maintain progression of use through spell ranks, we are changing how lower ranked spells relate to characters of higher level.

Spells will now receive a smaller bonus from +healing and +spell damage based on a comparison of the level at which the spell was learned and the caster’s current level. Take the Priest spell Heal 2 as an example:

The spell is learned at level 22, and the base points for healing on the spell keep increasing until level 27. So, level 27 is considered the spell’s max level in our calculation.

This system gives an additional 6 levels of slack before applying any penalty to casting Heal 2; so, players up to level 33 can cast it with no penalty.

In this example, we will use level 34 (one level past the cast level of the spell) as a starting point.

The bonus from +healing is multiplied by this ratio:
((spell level)+6)/(player level)

That means the level 34 player only gets 97% of the normal bonus from +healing items when casting Heal 2. A level 60 player would only get 55% of the bonus, while a level 70 would get 47%.

The exact same system will also apply to damage spells. However, as healing classes tend to use downranking more often than others, healers are likely to see more effect from this change than other classes. As a general rule, players will be able to use the top 2 or 3 ranks of each spell before receiving any penalty. All of the existing ratios for the +healing and +spell damage bonuses on spells are also still in effect; so spells with a short casting time will continue to receive a smaller bonus than spells with a longer casting time. Spells learned below level 20 will still receive substantially smaller bonuses.

Thanks blizz, makes my live as a healer so much easier! I only have to buy <xxx> pots and all to keep my mana up! GJ.

what about all the talent concerns? The complete lack of juice up in disc, and the dissapointing 41 pt holy? what about the crit chance giving a chance on an instant smite instead of just a spell?

Q u o t e:

Just remove it [Binding Heal]. It's useless.
It's marginalized by it's situationality and it's high mana cost mostly. While I can appreciate having the option at times to have a heal that heals both myself and someone else, it's base mana efficiency when both targets are healed for full amounts is less good than Flash Heal is.

Binding Heal (rank 1) HPM: 2.3
Flash Heal (rank 9) HPM: 2.53

Both are base values before talents/gear. Binding Heal could really do with having it's base HPM improved a bit, as it stands it's not only situational, it's HPM isn't even that good to encourage it's usage. The threat problem is being addressed, but that's really not the only thing that marginalizes it. Having it's mana cost reduced to something like 800 would make it a more reasonable HPM (About 0.5 over what the highest rank of Flash Heal provides).

Basically, my thought is that if you make a spell situational, it's better off being rewarding in such a situation. Having a spell that's situational but doesn't really offer a reward for using it in the situation just means it'll rarely to never get used.

Talents like Empowered Healing also skew the advantage a bit more in Flash Heals favour; another reason to make it so Binding Heal is a bit more attractive to use.

I'd comment on the values with gear, but alas very little information in that regard has come to my ears.

How can anyone not like the pre-req for lightwell ?. Ignoring the whole 'Improved Death' thing, it's 1 talent point for 5% spirit, which is amazing, and imo a better choice of talent than lolwell.

I can think of a whole bunch of questions for feedback, but since I'd never get any answers back I think I'll go back to what I'm getting paid to do ;)
