I see you're trying to stop the spam of certain frequent topics here, good going. :)

Windows XP service pack 3. Will that cause problems on 64 bit XP since they follow the service packs for windows server 2003?

Oh well, my non-upgradable laptop graphics card has fallen behind the recommended level to run the game.

I noticed the game was running very *!!!ty on BETA for me, low frame rates and such.

Unfortunately I have a *!!!y Geforce 8400M GS on my laptop - its a pretty crap card (64mb VRAM)....

Looks like Im going to have to shift to low settings. The game already gives me rare bluescreens and whatnot due to my GPU overheating in TBC, let alone what WOTLK is going to be like :'(

Still good. Big smile.

And to some people: get better machines, it's not like they cost anything nowadays :P

uhm for some people getting a new PC isnt their top priority, and they do infact cost quite a bit....

If you want decent stuff atleast.

Im no computer smartass, but here is waht i got myself:
- Processor: intel pentium 4 CPU 2.60GHZ
- Graphic card: 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800pro
- RAM: 1gb

Since i dont know @#%# (pretty much sums it up), would that be good enough? :P
going to uppgrade my ram soon to 2-4gb

(probably something else aswell i bet..... my PC is getting old :O)

A joke about American and Russian space programs. While the Americans spent billions of dollars inventing a pen that could write in 0 gravity, upside down and under water, the Russians used a pencil.

Why is Service Pack 3 necessary? Wouldn't SP1 or 2 be fine, too?

That isn't a bad card for WoW - with your overheating problems, you should check if your processor is automatically downclocking itself in order to help out (something like CPU-Z will show you this) - something similar happened to me a couple of times and there was a noticable drop in framerate (not unexpected since instead of 2Ghz it was running at 0,8Ghz). That is, of course, after getting the newest drivers etc. There really shouldn't be a problem to play WoW with that graphics card. For stability, you should consider actually downclocking your GPU to help out (less heat).

Q u o t e:
Service packs mostly don't matter because the requirements are there for service support for Blizzard. It makes finding problems easier when it comes down to hardware/software problems.

Same thing happened with WoW => TBC

Yep same here, I got my own reasons for not wanting SP3. Hope it wont be necessary. In theory it could mean directx latest version or something like that which also comes with SP3.

Improve graphics, those minimum requirements are disgustingly low for 2008. You can do better!

It is not what you do, it is how you do it
