We had hoped that the introduction of some new Honor rewards in the upcoming patch would give players a great opportunity to spend any of their remaining Honor. However, many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past. As such, we've decided to not reset Honor or tokens upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Players who save their Honor will be able to spend it on level 80 rewards, although those rewards will be significantly more expensive than their level 70 counterparts.

Please remember that you can still farm honor from level 71 to 79, so you could never really prevent people from purchasing PvP armor “instantaneously” the moment they hit level 80. The only true effect would be another time sink, a frustrating one if you will.
The honor point reset was but a poor excuse for not creating a new currency for honor as well. Just as you would earn more gold, deal more damage and have more health as you leveled up, as should honor points scale in similarity. Rather increase the honor cap, the amount of points you receive and the costs of items as you level.
It is not the same with the arena because it's a rating of your skills at level 70 PvP, a limited ladder bracket than a scaling system.
Players that spend time preparing will have the advantage of preparation. Just as you - the well-geared level 70 player - will have an advantage over newer or casual players that have yet to even reach the level cap. This is the nature of a MMORPG.

On a sidenote: If you want to reset honor/tokens for your 3rd expansion (I'm guessing there will be one according to what I've heard), a good time to report it would be as you start the last arena season in Wrath of the Lich King. This way players will just have used most of their honor points and won't be offended by a reset.
Edit: Reset should be announced at the beginning of the season and carried out like maybe 1-2 months into the season.

Just shows how OP rogues are really and also how broken the PvP mechanics are.

Wonder if we whine for plastic surgery in game we would get it.Or pink fluffy bunnies as mounts?Seriously the decission was a rather radical one but if you make a decission you Stick with it , don't back up like cowards, makes u look like wussies,.

Kind of offtopic, but shouldn't pvp and pve players have the same starting platform for lich king?
PvP's marks and honor is pretty equal to PvE's Badges of Justice, in my opinion atleast..
Why not either:
A) Reset honor/marks and create new badges for LK gear as planned
B) Allow players to keep honor/marks aswell as BoJ to let both "sides" of the game to stockpile in anticipation for LK

Woot! I guess this means that the level 80 epic pve gear will be changed to cost badges of justice. Can't wait to be decked out as soon as I hit 80, just like the pvp players!

I hope it'll be a significant increase, like a piece of lvl 80 armor costing 40.000 at least. Don't let the advantage that some people are getting become too large.

Guess you have the playebase cut in half here anyway and do not have any hope of gettng out with your heads high. The only reason I see this as a possible sollution is for you to start making BG's at 80 give you 1k honor each run if you lose.
One question though, will the new lvl 80 gear that cost honor allso cost Arena points, AND require arena ratings?
