Today I dropped engineering to pick leatherworking on my rogue, and powerleveling it all the way to Primalstrike set. a shame since I took my time to level it to 300 pre-TBC (hadnt bothered post TBC) and had a couple of nice schematics

Oh I understand frustration: I live in France and don't speak French. I also drive a Scottish car here (yes Scottish, not British :))

I don't mind you venting your frustrations, we all need our outlets. Just try to keep them in line with the forum rules, kk? And pretty please don't call me names directly; it hurts my feelings :(

In fact one might make reference to Schrödinger's cat in this case: all of my posts can cause one of a number of reactions (living cat or dead cat); but I can never know what the reaction will be until I make the post (open the box).

do not worry, we like you, you seem to be the only CM trough the whole set of wow forum to have enough guts to speak to the engineer... by they way could you try to get us some information if there are some development on engineering going on? I'm speaking of real developpment, not the kind of little (and useless) fix they've done on our parachute cloak to tow us a bones while they add even more jewlcraft receipe...

So I'm not supposed to ignore you, but I'm not allowed to post to tell you that your concerns have been forwarded but we have no information?

All I said was: your concerns have been passed on, but at this time we have no concrete details or time-scales to offer you.

ofcause you are - but couldn't you say that instead of what you did in the first post?
Because what you said in the first post was the same that was told in the very first days/months of wow, about the "hero classes/levels" "Coming soon - you just have to wait." -
So in other words your first post was:

"Yeahh st.fu and wait for 2years and then we will give you an idea of what we are planing to do - in the "near" further."

Cuz I for one do remember when "hero levels" was being talked about in the same matter as BWL was. so GG to that.

You can't spell "Slaughter" without "Laughter".

Nah... you'd probably get one of 2 results, trying that:
- "Pen does not work after level 60"
- "Pen misfires and covers you in ink. You take 1500 point in (toxic) venon damage"

:(

Throw us a bone:

- biznicks scope( +Hit) to rep vendor
- make parachute cloak attachable to back armor ( no equip cd )

Got these ideas from US forums.

But as usual these suggestions will fail/fizzle/explode before getting anywhere near blizzard dev team.

K thx bai engineering dies away

OooO great!

Got a PVP kill with the cloak yesterday. I usually fly with it on. A near-dead rogue tried to fly away from a fight. I dismounted mid-air, fired while flying (arcane, multi), dead rogue, cloak on 2sec before hiting ground... :)

Here's a nice addition to engineering:

Gnomish time machine
Use: Travels forward in time to see if engineers ever gets decent

Goblin time machine
Use: Travels backwards in time so you can stop yourself from taking up this (borderline) useless profession.

I have to say that bliz developers dont know what to do. they just got in some nothealthy race - to launch new games to launch new expansions, that they totally forgot about the game now. Bliz u have to know that ppl do play that game becuse it is good. But they just dont care about what u are gonna do, they care about things that are happening now. So if u dont start making the neccesary things at the moment u are most likely to loose a lot of ur customers that u are rying to seduce with promises any more. So start fixing the god damn profession it been almost 6-9 months since we are waiting for all of u to start making serious upgrade on it. So if u are acting by the phrase: no one cant give u the things that i can promise u - u are just wrong ppl are allready too tired off all of ur "stupid" - promises.

It's funny how people say that in pretty much all the posts I make :)

I'd love to sit here with a big book of everything that has happened and everything is being worked and give full disclosure about everything you want to know; it would make me feel empowered.

However, a side effect of the creative process is that it's, well, creative and free-form. This means that when people ask "What is going on with X?" the answer could be "Nothing yet." but 3 minutes later there are 20 people working on 'something' related to X. Of course, most people (and even I am guilty of this) hate to stop what they are doing in order to record what they are doing so that people can say "Hey, what did you do today?" so they often don't.

This means that when the thing that is being worked eventually gets finished someone says "So.. what exactly did you do?" and then another someone has to go through and create a document which has to be proof read and verified and authorised and polarised and quantified... well maybe not those last two, but you get the gist.

Or course, this then leads to the scenario that by the time anyone says "Here, you can post this information about X.", the changes are already live and everyone who cared about them 6 months ago goes "Lol, wut?".

Ok, that's a pretty extreme example but I'm trying to say: it's frustrating for everyone, because everyone has different needs and wants. I hope you can understand that and I hope you don't lose faith in us.

We really do want to give you what you want as much as is possible.

P.S. Sorry for the slightly weird rant, but I'm in a funny mood today :)

Yea, well.... :-P

I hope Blizzard understands that their paying customers feel they could put a few of all those hojillion euros and dollars and whatnot people pay them every month to slightly better use than they have and make engineering a bit more attractive and viable.

It's not just the lack of New Stuff<TM> to build in TBC, it's the fact so much of the Old Stuff simply becomes redundant or non-working, without any replacement versions.

And on top of that the stuff that never really worked to begin with. [Gnomish Battle Chicken] anyone?Whose brilliant idea was it with a creature that does a whopping >>>1<<< damage per hit until it rages - and it might well wait to rage until the very last few seconds of its lifespan...

Not that I really mind all that much, I have used engineering on hunters almost purely for the gnomish death ray, guns and ammo - anything else has been pure gravy. And I like the small funny things you can make with it. The moon festival fireworks and other "stupid nonsense". WoW is a pastime activity after all, so it's good there are some nonsensical aspects to it as well - like the [Heavy Leather Ball] for example in leatherworking.

That said though, there really should be more useful engi stuff past skill 300. And I don't mean recipes that drop purely in high-level raid instances that less than 0.5% of the playerbase get to see the insides of.

The arrow that triggers Kill Command will be the one that downs the mob...

Yet here we are, not 3 minutes, but 8 months (that's around 357000 minutes) later, and the only real difference between then and now, is that now we have a fancy hat.
