According to blue posts on EU and US forums, patch 3.0.2 will soon be on the ptr. Obviously the ptr might be up for a while, and I'm assuming it will be up for a while considering it is going to be implementing a lot of the WotLK changes and introductions.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned by blues is the position on Naxxramas in 3.0.2. If it is to implement WotLK content, then presumably Naxxramas will no longer exist in EPL and will be moved to Northrend. However, since WotLK hasn't officially been released, it should also stay in EPL.

I know this isn't of significance to many, but our server is currently running Naxx pugs on a weekly basis, with one player currently owning 31 Splinters of Atiesh.

If the patch moves Naxxramas, it will surely mean he is incapable of collecting the rest of the splinters. Will C'thun still drop the base if you are on that part of the quest, when Kel'thuzad will no longer be reachable for the head?

This is not a question of what do Blizzard have planned for Atiesh in WotLK, cuz quite frankly, I don't care. We have been doing Naxxramas pugs on our server for three goals in mind really :

1. To experience the lvl 60 version as many didn't get the chance.
2. To obtain Tier 3 and Sapphiron shoulder enchants etc before they are no longer possible to gain.
3. For one of the raid leaders to finish his goal of acquiring Atiesh.

This post is simply to ask if it will still exist in patch 3.0.2 and whatnot. We have our own reasons for doing the pugs, so please do not spam this thread with "lol naxx is so 2006" and other useless flames, we don't care. And yes, the Splinter holder is a lore nerd ;p.

I suppose it's just easier for them. S'pose they just want to get any WotLK data that they possibly can onto live servers, so that the actual expansion launch is easier, and that they don't have to release another patch when WotLK comes out, which would put even more strain on the servers.

I am also interested in this. I currently have 37 splinters -.- and every time I try to arrange a raid I worry that I do not have time left to finish it, due to lack of interest people have in participating the raids. Please tell me that naxx wont move yet, it would surely suck to not be able to finish Atiesh. Could we possibly get a blue one to answer this? Would be great to know if it's still going to be there, to do our best to finish our Atiesh staffs if it's the last chance we'll get for it.

Yes, one thing we are interested in knowing is if the quest will still exist after the Naxxramas move. If you were to gather 40 splinters, start the quest and kill kelthuzad for the head before wotlk / 3.0.2, would the quest still exist so you could kill cthun in your own time?

I have a related question:
Will Kel'Thuzad and Sapphiron be considered dead and defeated in WotLK? Since, according to 'canon lore' from wow itself, they are defeatable bosses - is there any chance of seeing them in Wotlk? Of course I know that there are ways to raise frost wyrms again, and of Kel'Thuzad's phylactery 'disappearing' at the hands of the players themselves.

Didnt you state Naxx will be a 10 man raid instance?

It is in Wrath of the Lich King, but also 25 man too. However, if you read the original post, it is asking about the pre-Wrath content patch which we announced yesterday. And for Naxx's location in that, I have no news to report right now.

TBH its kinda bs ofcourse, that u cannot reveal this. People only needing 10 or less splinters and need the head of the staff. You could just be fair and give an answer.

Thank you for the response. We'll keep going naxx every week, we seem to have enough people with experience of 4H, thaddius, sapph and kel now to keep killing them. Can only hope we get 9 splinters in time for our final Kel kill. Hope the other people who still need those last few splinters get their raids going and can get the last ones, be a shame to miss out.

One thing that still puzzles us though - If my friend were to get his last splinters and start the quest for the head and the base, and if he were to obtain the head form Kel, would he still need to kill C'thun for the base before Naxx is moved? What I am trying to ask is, will the quest still exist for those that are on it, or are you planning on removing the quest completely since Naxx won't be there to gather the splinters in order to start the quest.

If they have a Kruul like event at major cities and areas prior to the release of WotLK (which I hope they do, last one was awesome), I think this would be the most fitting event! Nice suggestion :)

I really would have no idea what would happen here -- it's a very specific question. It might be that it could be completed in Naxx 80, or it might be that the quest just couldn't be completed or might even be removed. However, this is purely guesswork as I unfortunately don't have anything at hand that'd answer such a specific question.

I have a wish... and I think it is from the whole wow player community who give a rats arse wether Naxx the 40man will remain in EPL til wotlk or not... and it is that you would keep it there:)

On our server these Naxxramas runs have been going on for several months now, we have forums up where people sign up etc. (just recently got it more organised, would be shame if it was to go waste so soon). Running those old school Naxxramas raids has been just awesome way to get to know new people and every week I make new friends. Compared to AQ40 or BWL the interest towards Naxxramas has been huge all spring+summer.

Considering how the shadow of wotlk looming around will most likely affect the pve scene and many guilds will cut down their progress raids/farm raids, running old world place is one way to keep people's interest up, and something to do while waiting for expansion. Not to mention running 40man Naxx is a great way to prepare for the feeling of wotlk :)

So please, we beg you - keep it there til Wotlk hits the stores. It won't hurt anymore:)

The one thing about Atiesh is the small amount of them floating around. Even after TBC, I'm sure there must be more warglaives running around Ironforge than Atiesh's.

This in my eyes gives it an even greater legendary position and unique feeling than other legendaries. I think you should give people a chance to obtain it (given how close some are) before it is no longer possible to achieve (unless you have plans for it in WotLK - afterall, it is not only Medivh's staff, but the staff held by the guardians of tirisfal, or something like that).

I understand you don't have any information, and that Blizzard has purposefully not announced it in the information provided so far, for whatever reason, be it they forgot to mention it, they don't know what to do yet, etc. But it would be nice if you could please keep it in the game, at least until a week or two before WotLK, and then send it off. And make it an event, I wanna watch it go!


Similarly, but less significant, will Dalaran still be there or will that have moved?

As far as I know blues said that there might be something happening with atiesh in naxx2, but they don't know yet.

Also remember, that the patch in only arriving on the ptrs. It has a long way to go till it is ready for live...

Keal'thas didn't get removed from Tempest Keep now did he?

Another example is the Nesingwary quests in STV, they didn't get removed when the guy giving them was moved. They'll make a way to let it stay. easier for everyone to let it stay and more fun for the people who want to do it.

Very interesting to know if the Naxxramas related quests will remain: For instance; will people with a T3 token still be able to complete it for their T3 part? WIll the Atiesh quest still exxist? If we have the Phylatracy, can we still hand it in?
