I have seen nothing on Beta forums so far about Priest racials to date, despite this being one of the Priests main areas of concern in the Class Feedback thread that Blizzard initiated.

Is this something that will be addressed going forward? Feedback seemed to get a lot of anger as especially weak, but I think the system should be changed along the line of Faiths where people can pick and choose from a small sub-set of spells to suit their spec and type of gaming (Healer vs DPS, PVE vs PVP)

Basically three faiths:
Elune/Mu'sha - Moon worship - outposts in Temple of Elune (Darnassus) & Spirit Rise (Thunder Bluff)
- Elune's (change to Moonlit) Grace, Starshards, Consume Magic
Holy Light - outposts in Catherdral of Light (Stormwind) & Spirit Valley (Orgimmar)
- Chastise, Desperate Prayer, Symbol of Hope
Cult of Forgotten Shadow - outposts in the Forlorn Cavern (Ironforge) & the Magic Quarter (Undercity)
- Devouring Plague, Touch of Weakness; Hex of Weakness, Feedback, Shadowguard

By being in these areas they remain in Azeroth and thus available to those without WOTLK/TBC (if anyone?)

For each faith they will have a range of 5-6 spells (obviously a few more (minor - not OP) spells would need to be created) some PVP/PVE focused from which you can choose 2-3. You cna change these by visiting the Faith trainer or change faiths like changing specs.

The Lore/quests for Priests is quite bland imo and is an area that can be improved significantly. Give Priests some RP type loving like Shamans get with Earthen Ring and Druids with Cenarion Circle/Moonglade. A quest here and there as you progress that opens up a new type of spell

I've read about the concept of Faiths and I must say that this is the only logical step to solve the problem of Priests' racials. And a nice improvement to the RP as well.

I Lol'd.

We killed Illidari Council last night and my shadow fiend died before reaching the target!!

I like this idea :-) ... simple as that.
It's not overpowering in any way and it add to character customization beyond races and it's presented in a way that will make sence ingame.

I remember something like this being suggested in the tbc beta, i'm still a fan of the suggestion to let priests select 2 of any "priest racial" spell.

Nice idea! Would you be able to change faiths though? Some people in real life have converted from Christianity to Muslim, etc., although I guess there'd need to be a limit or number on how many times you can change faith.

I'm guessing that would be worked into a respec... whenever you respec you have to pick a faith again. That would be pretty easy.

The way I would envisage it would be that you can change faiths like respeccing.

Each faith would have abilities for PVE and PVP for healing and Shadow. If you respec to do some PVP Shadow you would need (if you want to use spells in Shadowform) to convert from Holy Light or Moon Worship back into Cult of Shadow or vice versa - for a cost ofc. If you can change spec, profession, sub-profession (Primal Mooncloth to Shadowcloth etc) I think changing faith should be allowed.

These spells aren't OP but atm if you are a SP of a race (Draenai) that has limited Priest Shadow spells it is unfair imo and unfun. This is a game and the extra customizability of this suggestion would be fairly easy to implement and would be a great response to Priests' desire for something to change in this area. If Hunters can get trees for their pets, I think it would be a much simpler job to implement than that.

However, I do feel that some work would be needed to add in some more Racial Spells that would fit into the 3 various faiths in both PVP and PVE aspects.

Why not making them trainable at every class trainer? All of them. While you're at it, just remove the "racial" and make them normal spells. Always wanted to see elves and humans running around cannibalizing and spreading the plague, this could really improve the lore and RP experience.
Now really, I might sign that one, but only if alliance has to come to War Quarter and talk to Aelthalyste in order to learn DP.

lol, they are not taking aboute "racial" skills, they taking aboute the Priest racial skills, like "Touch of Weakness", "Symbol of Hope", "Hex of Weakness" and spells that spells tht only 1 or 2 priest classes can have.
