As a perambulator through the strange world that is Warcraft I have come across several insights into personalities and such. it is strange, however, how a collective of individuals under the 'Double Helix' brand (motto: "The best at being 2nd!") could consistently be so insensitive to other guilds.

They have tried it before, pinching players from other guilds rather than put the hard work in themselves to make up for inadequate attendance and/or leadership, and now it's happened to us at Purple Haze. Only this time I witnessed directly what happened, and thus equipping my [keyboard] I'd thought to shine a torch to it.

So, thanks again Double Helix and its consenting members, for totally ignoring the feelings and the hard work put in by another guild just to fill your pride.

I won't shed a tear if at one point the guild disappears up its own considerable bunghole. In fact, if Ahn'Qiraj needed an enema, the tube would be stuck in Double Helix.

(cue excuses/justifications for what was an obvious fact)

I don't know what part of merging up, with the consent and agreement of PH and DH officers, is escaping you? If you weren't involved in the discussion at any point, that's not my problem, however the odd 25 people from one side merging up with the odd 25 from another is hardly what I'd call pinching.

At no point during the discussions was anyone excluded - if you didn't take part in them (which at no point did I see you), shows how much you care yourself.

Beside all that - what the hell you on about? We only did normal recruitment, via the normal channels (application on forum sent by mail). Seriously, check your facts before putting the proverbial pen to paper.

Sounds more like a selective hostile takeover than a merge to me, having joined Purple Haze mere hours before the Double Helix-bound exodus commenced... the leadership of Purple Haze, as I understand it, declined the merge proposal, and then Double Helix proceeded to invite Purple Haze members over anyway. This displays scant respect for other guilds.

The rate at which people left Purple Haze after being invited by Double Helix renders the claim that recruitment occurred through "normal recruitment" processes highly untrustworthy.

Moreover, newly-converted Double Helix members spam-whispered a number of Purple Haze members who were either undecided or had rejected the notion of joining Double Helix with "Gogo, join us!" messages.

One would expect better from a guild with Double Helix's reputation... one that, I fear, may be undeserved.

That's just not cricket...

The merge proposal was accepted and things proceeded as per agreement. I was told that a few people didn't agree and wouldn't join up, fair enough - but frankly, this is a new low for anyone on this server. If you didn't agree with the merge, that is one thing. Coming here spewing all this crap out of vendetta, throwing tantrums because you weren't in agreement with 25-30 people and wanted things your way, is completely another thing.

If you want to clarify things in-game, i'll be more than happy to discuss things. Otherwise could you kindly end this petty show - things were agreed with officers, just as any other merge would go, not some conspiracy theory you're coming up with.

The Double Helix tag was also kept because it's a logistical nightmare moving gbanks around and reworking a site. Everything has been worked out as a merge, including the ex-PH officers being officers within DH as well.

The recruitment process I was referring to is the normal recruitment for day-to-day recruitment, nothing to do with a merge, which is an extraordinary event within any guild.

Seeing as you are quoting the word 'merge' a lot:

Merge, verb - to combine or cause to combine to form a single entity.

I would like to find the planet where the definition of 'merge' means chopping off a slice off one group to increase the size of the another.
So before attempting any weak grammatical interpretations, I'd suggest you read through a dictionary first.

Q u o t e:

There you go assuming again - just shows what a minimal level of information was at your disposal. I was active in the discussions.

That is laughable - as can be seen above, others have witnessed the same thing. I saw it happen while I was in <is fluffy>. I am sure the list goes on.

I write here just to expose Two-faced Helix for what it is.

I bust my ass to help the players in Purple Haze get to where they are only for your guild to show a total lack of respect for the work all of the members put in by spamming the invites after the merge was turned down by the officers. Thanks for keeping the spirit of the game alive by not considering other players and guilds. /sarcasm

That is laughable - Mithrilina is only one of many who have witnessed the same thing happen. I saw it happen while I was in <is fluffy> too.

So after all that, I;m here writing just to expose the guild for what it is - people should know.

What drug are you on? We only recruit people that apply. If anyone from is fluffy had joined us back then it was because that person had applied - meaning the person wanted to leave. Is fluffy was disbanded to join with Guild of Doom not us, again taking a slice of players with them, leaving a number of players stranded. Or are you suffering from selective memory loss?

Q u o t e:

I am not assuming. I am only stating the information put forward from the PH side and what I have experienced in the discussions. I have dealt with 3 officers, never with you. You were never brought up in discussions. The information available to me is simply what I was witness to - that you were never in, mentioned or named in any discussion I was in with PH officers. Hence for me, you were never part of the discussions.

If you didn't agree with the merge (call it whatever you want - that is what it is - no amount of BS can make it anything else) then fine. But just stop making it what it's not just because you wanted things one way, while the majority wanted things another way. That's called democracy - look that up on the dictionary.

Which part of 'The merge was accepted' are you failing to understand? Do you need to look that up as well?

What a source of comedy - democracy requires input from elected representatives, yet you've just written that I wasn't included. I can now see what your level of understanding is, so I'll end this here or it'll be like talking to the intellectual equivalent of a bucket of gravel.

It's a cooperative leadership system made up of several GM's who have to discuss and approve changes. I am one of the GM's.

It already is from my part at least. I'm only doing this because you've decided to come out with a personal vendetta - which doesn't surprise me coming from an ex-is fluffy lackey (and it's no secret that is fluffy hated DH with a passion).

If you want to continue with your personal attack - do so. I'm just not going to entertain this any longer. 25-30 people agreeing with a merge (between, *shock horror* PH officers and DH officers), you don't and you come here with righteous BS just because your will was not done. Come on - go pull the other one.

I was waiting for this post from you.
There you go, insulting every is fluffy member by lumping them in as 'lackeys'. Just shows how you view other players. 'Nuff said.
