We would just like to remind people of this rule:

Q u o t e:
Don't call for nerfs

Calling for a nerf on something is very provocative to those at the other end of the stick. Such threads are by nature unconstructive and in most cases considered trolling.

http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=10701098&sid=1

Threads with titles as "Nerf class X" or "Class Y is overpowered" will get locked, and forum suspensions will be issued If the content of such threads are particularly non-constructive or directly offensive.

If you wish to discuss class balance issues, please feel free to do so, but remember that such discussions can seem very provoking and annoying to the players of a class you believe to be overpowered or imbalanced. Therefore it is a good idea to be careful with your choice of words and to post proper data and evidence/examples to support your reasoning and argumentation. It is important to be considerate, constructive and thorough in your argumentation when creating such threads, because your thread will get locked if it is interpreted as a nerf thread or if it derails into a flamewar.

Most importantly it is a good idea to consider whether or not your thread is more suitable for the suggestions forum, because that forum is the best place to post, if your goal is to inform us (Blizzard) that a class is not balanced and that you have good solutions or ideas for ways to change or improve that class.

Then what exactly are we supposed to discuss here? Most discussion is about what people find overpowered, and sometime suggest fixes.

I think that what they want is a discussion, rather than just idiots making posts such as "Nerf Warlocks" with the subject as "Now". I might be wrong, but that's how I've interpreted it.

thank you for communicating this to the users, but I am yet to see consistent action taken against the "nerf" promoters

the forum is still filled with useless nerf topics with with no supportive arguments

You can discuss class balance just fine, but please refrain from creating pure nerf threads or similar flamebaiting threads.

I will repeat this part from my original post:

If you wish to discuss class balance issues, please feel free to do so, but remember that such discussions can seem very provoking and annoying to the players of a class you believe to be overpowered or imbalanced. Creating constructive threads about advantages is OK

"Nerf [Insert random class here]!!11" Threads by morons in subpar gear is NOT.

Q u o t e:
Too many decent constructives threads have gone ignored for a long time, nerf threads at the very least get replies when they are locked, I am yet, in over 2 years of playing this game, seen any CM on these forums bother to reply to a single constructive post on these forums, and I doubt I ever will.

Just because we do not reply doesn't mean that we do not read. We do give feedback when we have feedback to give however, but that mostly happens in the class forums.

Q u o t e:
It's all good saying stop making unconstructive nerf threads, but when we get 0 feedback whatsoever there is little left to resort too.

Pure non-constructive Nerf threads will not be taken seriously and will get ignored. Such threads will get locked when discovered and bans may be issued depending on the content of such threads.

Nerf threads are beneficial to no-one, least of all the creators of such threads!

This is a quite crude way of saying it, but this is, in essence, what we are trying to get across!

Most "nerf threads" seem to go about the same "subject", on which alot of people agree. Not only on these forums but on alot other like US-wow. People seem to get really frustrated about this and how things can get so out of hand. Getting no real answer from Blizzard is making everybody more angry and frustrated, I think alot of people would like a "blue" post now and then, about the vision of developers on a certain matter and how they intend to fix it(or not).
Ps: Couldn't a high amount of "nerf threads" also indicate that there REALLY is something wrong?(to give an example: warlocks)

Not really... Most nerf warlock thread is non-constructive and useless threads.
Those few constructive all fall down to the unknown (known as page2)

people will make nerf threads wether you like it or not, simply because they feel cheated and want to vent their frustration when they get killed. it has always been like this and closing threads & giving out temp bans will only strenghten the belief that Blizzard doesnt care about class balance.. personally i know you mean well but if you really want to stop nerf threads this is not the way, you want to reassure people not shut them up with a thread lock or ban.. participate in the discussions and make more blue posts in the PVP forums because atm it seems the only blue posts here are "dont make nerf threads". the fact that nerf threads keep coming back and are mostly about the same topic simply means people want a blue response

Then I fail to see the point of this particular forum at all, this is the PvP forum, so I fail to see why PvP issues are not discussed here, if they aren't to be discussed here, I fail to see the point. PvP is a very competitive thing, I for one have posted many many times in this place, and had alot of temp bans because of things I've said when I was annoyed, and I am far from the only one, it just makes it more annoying when you say you read them, but don't reply, again I fail to see the point in that at all.

First... Read what he writes ?
Your still allowed to discuss the OPness of warlock/mage/warrior/etc. (if that whats your feel) But you have to do it constructive. That might be hard for you, i know...

But try

I guess it's the difference between "nerf walocks they are overpowered!!!" and "DoTs not being effected by resilience produces a significant scaling issue with PvP damage", or "Nerf MS!!!" and "the MS healing debuff makes warriors fairly mandatory for 5v5 Arena PvP".

One is just pointless whining, the other is pointing out an issue that may (or may not) have "nerf" results, but that's not really the issue.

There's two reasons for pointless nerf threads with no constructive arguments.

1) Blizzard actually listens to them

2) Constructive polite threads with useful information don't get as many replies as the simple flamebating posts.

If you want an example of this check out some of the threads with most replies. They flamebate to get people to respond.

I'm very pleased about your locking these as to be honest they're just annoying.

@poster who was asking what this forums for... For me it's not about whining on everytime you get owned by someone. It should be about advice, ideas, pvp vids, tutorials, stories ect... Any balance issues should be made with FACTS to back up your point and not on a forum alt.

Tbh I think Blizz should make a new forum topic called 'I got owned' made especially for whine topics. You could call it something else like 'class concerns' but basically it would mean that decent informative posts don't get lost by stupif retarded posts going 'omg im quiting coz xxxx is OP'.

Right, because a conversation about how overpowered x class is, will never turn unconstructive flame wars "hi your rating sucks lolz"
