I have been wondering how the creation of Death Knights will work and if we will get an extra character slot for them or maybe a special slot for them as you can only have 1 per account per realm. I know you have to have a level 55 character to do it but that's about it. At the moment all my character slots are full and I would like to know if when you create a Death Knight if it will just add onto your character list or you will have to have a free slot. It will be a shame if I have to delete an alt that I enjoy playing in order to play this new class with my friends on Aszune. Would love to hear from a blue on this issue.

10 is the max for along time, so you must make room or don't roll one on that server.

It's a shame as I think after this long a lot of people I know have almost filled all 10 slots with max level characters and would like to create more.

Different realm maybe? If you can enjoy playing 50 alts you have a problem...

I hope they do allow you to open a new character slot with the Death Knight.

i currently have a toon of each class that I am levelling on Alliance side, and I also have a toon on horde side to experience the content there, which means all my 10 slots are taken.

Blizzard have already stated the rules on creating a Death Knight clearly.

You may create a Death Knight IF you have a character of level 55 or above.

Death Knights will start in a new zone "floating" above Eastern Plaguelands, rather like Naxxramas.

You may only have ONE Death Knight per realm, per account.

You will not get another class slot. You must use an existing empty slot or delete one of your character slots to make space for it.

I think I heard something about this, afaik it will be a bit like Naxxramas and work only as a hub for the DK-content in EPL.
Could be fake though, never saw the proper source.

I have also used all my slots up and would hate to have to delete any of them.

I cannot see why blizzard would rather us create a character on a new realm that on the existing one. Firstly for them it saves nothing, the same amount of data is being held, it's just plain lazyness.

For players it's a pain, all my resources money etc are on my server, I have chars with all gathering professions etc and not being able to call on their uses sucks!

Adding a new slot just for your death knight would not be difficult and would make the player base happy.

Blizzard would rather do something else pointless like the other millions of changes they keep doing that no one wants or asked for and ignore the million of suggests which people would love to have and would not be to hard to implement.

IIRC this was stated in one of the interviews the 8th/9th of May to specific fansites/guilds, but I do not recall which. (I seem to recall it was curse-gaming or wow insider, but I may be wrong - there were so many sites boasting interviews at the same time)

Considering the lack of tanks in WoW right now, it will help with that.

There is one other option: buy a new account, which will give you 10 more slots.

The whole point of rerolling is to do it on a different server. Not just to run less risk of having your server being down for 24 hours, also to find a different atmosphere, get away from a server where the population is low or where raiding is bad.
If your idea of rerolling is 'mail yourself 100g and 4x16 slot bags' and can't do it without it, then maybe the DK isn't for you.

I mailed my new char 4 runecloth bags and 10g, its hardly game breaking and very easy to do without it.

The point is I like doing it that way, I have put alot of work into leveling my main and now I get to enjoy helping out my alts, taking friends through instances in return for them taking mine through.

My family play on this server too.
