Promissing the Mortal strike effect on flame tungue .. but we did never get it..

Hoped for a anti cc class .. didnt happen. Really, what does enhance shamans have? Dmg. Only dmg.
after all i relize how poor we are. i kno i made a topic for 1on1 assist. and it works. but ..

why removing such thing as Mortal strike effect on Flame tungue? its perfect to vailable us to the 2v2 and 3v3 arena teams.

Blizzard ... why beaing mean? ive been a loyal player for 3 years ..
Shaman is MY class and i love it. but i have this feeling going arena. and ... its not quite possible for us..
i asked for one thing: Mortal strike effected flametungue ..

now. do i have to lvl 10 more lvls to achieve a whole new way to learn to fight the shaman with?
The way it is now.. are fine exept the flametungue..

Tell me. anyone. What was the negative, since blizzard didnt give us the MS flame tungue?.

I was wondering where did Blizz get that idiotic idea and it was you all the time *gasp*

They didn't promise, they put it on PTR, saw that most shamans don't want it and took it out before it went live.

They removed it because they thought it was OP. Not that we ever got to actually test it.

FTMS might have been a bit shoehorned as a solution, but it would've done the job to make Enhancement possibly decent in 2v2. It should only have been removed if a qualified replacement had been ready to take its place.

Really. its the best way for us to fit for 2v2 and 3v3 mate ... the MS Flametungue would beat a perfect final balance .. we cant mana burn healers. or reduce healing done..

Oh well... lets see what we have here ...

Having MS on the totem might have been too much and hard to balance. That should never have been considered, since, for all we know, it might've tipped the whole thing over the edge whereas if only MSFT Weapon was ever implemented, it might've gone live.

We didnt say that we dont want it or need it, we just said "Give us some anti-CC instead of MS effect" and guess what nothing happend.....

i got the impression that adding a MS effect to FT was very unpopular, i saw it as a idea that showed no creative thinking to quickly solve a problem for shaman pvp.

my first thought to this was how this wouldnt help enhancement anymore in arena, and that ultimately a resto shaman that can keep a mortal strike totem up whilst healing and getting to grips with twisting in WF totem would be far more valuable than an enhance prolly dwing WF and a fast offhand with FT.
my main issue i see with enhancement shamans is that, like almost all hybrid classes they are no longer very hybrid.
can anyone honestyl say enh shamans can back up heal effectively in either pvp or pve environments. i guess thats the price of the sheer amount of buffing and dps that one offers and increasing surivability would surely require a nerf in either grp buffs or dps. this brings the cycle back round to pve'rs getting sick of arena.

is it just me or now the initial learning curb of the changes obrought by BC, hybrid classes are starting to merge back to pre BC - if u can heal, u should or be happy with the niche market ur spec offers.
im no more happy with the situation that most enh shamans in terms of pvp but ultimately every action has a reaction, be it to the detriment of shaman pve, other shaman specs or other classes.
i would like to see thought put into shamans and if time is wat it takes then fair enough.

I reckon they figured that a 6/5s cooldown interrupt and the abilty to purge HoTs was enough was enough counter-healer ability...

It does seem to me that the main reason arms warriors have always been the no.1 choice for arena is that their counter-healing ability is so essential, heck i reckon if you took it away warriors would be the gimp class of pvp. Take their counter-heal debuff, add a ranged interrupt on 6s cooldown (focus macro and focus the healer kthxbye), the ability to dispel HoTs (severely gimps the non-interruptable healing of a druid if you use it right). Gratz, you've created something massively better than an MS warrior, I hope you're proud of yourself. OK, so intercept is missing, but 2.4 made enhancement shammys significantly less kitable. You've got less HP and armor, but you've got at least 15 seconds of taking less damage which noone's going to take away from you, and the possibility of self-healing.

I like the idea of spreading around the MS debuff, it's the only way they're ever going to succeed in getting the warrior class balanced. Shammies are the wrong place to put it though, the class already has a lot to counter healers, MS would be too much.

Shaman buffs in general are welcome, but as everyone pointed out at the time, this one was inappropriate.

What internal test version did you have access to where MSFT actually worked, rather than doubling the healing recieved?

I didn't do any actual tests. all the tests I've done was inside my head. I thought: "Restoration that can Heal, do avarage burst damage and Healing Reduction effects...? cheating"

Haha, I can't stop laughing at all the shamans asking for some anti CC or whatever you guys want... The MS change was the best thing they could've given you. It wasn't a very original idea but it would've made enhancement very viable in arena.

PS: petitions won't help, as far as I know they're not even allowed on these forums.

No melee can be successful in arena without MS. Remember, the reason why healing is so incredibly powerful is because of your MS, which it's forced to deal with. So anyone that doesn't have MS is sorely out of luck.

Guess where the MS classes (rogue, warrior) stand compared to Enhancement, Retribution and Feral?

Enhancement needed either major CC or a drain ability (MS vs healers), without either it cannot compete in 2v2.
