"Am I ready for Karazhan?"

The question keeps popping so yet another gear guide, maybe it'll help someone. I stuck to stuff that's easily quested or crafted, without entering heroics and through minimal instancing.

This is a guide, I'm not providing a dozen options for every slot but tried to stick to best-in-slot blues. There may be better options for some slots but follow this and your gear will be fine to start Karazhan.

Head: Stalker's Helmet of Second Sight http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31106 from a quest chain that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10642. Ignore the socket bonus and fill up with agility gems, enchant with the Glyph of Ferocity (requires Revered with Cenarion Expedition)

Neck: Natasha's Choker http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31695 from a quest chain in Blade's Edge Mountains that starts here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10810

Shoulders: No good quest option here so Beast Lord Mantle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27801 from Warlord Kalithresh, the end boss in The Steamvault. Gem with agility/hit in the yellow slot and agility in the red slot if you want the stamina bonus. Pretty much the best blue shoulders from PvE, if you like PvP go for the Gladiator Spaulders http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28333. Make sure you put an Inscription on them from your Aldor or Scryer rep.

Back: Delicate Green Poncho http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28032 from the Bring Me The Egg! quest in Nagrand http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10111 for a nice item for little effort. The hit rating will be invaluable when raiding. Enchant with +12 agility (Greater Agility, materials are 1 Greater Planar Essence, 4 Arcane Dust and 1 Primal Air)

Chest: The easiest is probably Felstalker Breastplate
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25696 practically any leatherworker can make it, just need to grind those 8 Primal Air, gem up with all agility unless you care about the bonus. New option is the drop from Kael'thas in Magister's Terrace, Hauberk of the Warbringer http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34799 which is easily better. Enchant with +6 to all stats (Exceptional Stats, mats are fairly hefty at 4 Large Prismatic Shards, 4 Greater Planar Essence and 4 Arcane Dust).

Wrists: Get a pair of Felstalker Bracers
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25697 for quick and easy, however the PvP option Vindicator's Chain Bracers http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33876 is significantly better. Enchant with +24 attack power (Assault, materials are 6 Arcane Dust).

Hands: Beast Lord Handguards http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27474 from the end boss in Shattered Halls. As ever, there's the PvP option though the gloves are lackluster. Enchant with +26 attack power (Assault, materials are 8 Arcane dust) for now, that'll do until you get something better.

Waist: Felstalker Belt http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25695 is pretty decent. For those who enjoy PvP, Vindicator's Chain Girdle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33877 is excellent, also for PvE.

Legs: Scaled Greaves of Patience http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27430 from the second boss in Old Hillsbrad, gem with agility in all slots and stick a Cobrahide Leg Armor http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29533 on for PvE.

Feet: Duro Footgear http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30273 from the quest Rightful Repossession in Netherstorm http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10267 are surprisingly good and dps-wise pretty much on par with the level 70 blue drops, so might as well use them until a raid or heroic drop. Stick a +10 stamina armor kit on since these boots are placeholders.

Fingers: Slayer's Mark of the Redemption http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31077 from a SMV group-quest chain that starts with the solo-able http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10750
If you're Aldor you can get Kaylaan's Signet http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30860 with the same stats from a short group-quest chain that starts with http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10407. A non-faction option for the second ring slot is Band of Anguish http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30973 from the SMV quest News of Victory, the last in a short chain. Same hit and AP, 2 agi less though.

Trinkets: Bladefist's Breadth http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28041 from the Hellfire Peninsula quest Overlord http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10400 for Alliance and Cruel's Intentions http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10136 for Horde, end of a short chain that starts from a guaranteed drop http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29589.
Hourglass of the Unraveller http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28034 drops from the second boss in Black Morass, it's a pain because an instance drop but worth it. And the same boss drops a nice chest too so maybe you'll get lucky.
For those who enjoy PvP, there's the underappreciated Mark of Conquest A: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27921 H: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27920 from Hellfire/Zangarmarsh PvP marks.

Melee: Crystalforged War Axe http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31291 is your friend because you can buy it on the AH for 45G or less even though what you really want is Sonic Spear http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27903 from the last boss in Shadow Labyrinth -- good luck. Slap on Savagery http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27971 because it's cheap or Major Agility http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27977 if you're flush with cash/shards, it's slightly better.

Ranged: Valanos' Longbow http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31303 should be easy to find on the AH for 35G or less and it's actually very good. Stick on an Adamantite Scope http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23764 and save more expensive scopes for your epic upgrade.

*edit* fixed link, thanks Urmand.
*edit2* added trinkets, melee, ranged
*edit3* added 2nd ring option for non-Aldor

Yeah I know the list. I thought it might be useful to tell people what to get instead of providing a list of options that includes inferior items. I tried for a combination of easy to get and best blue in slot. Even if what I suggest might not the best in certain cases (feet), it's good enough to clear Karazhan with on your first raid (in theory) without setting foot in heroics or do tons of PvP in advance.

Thats cool.

Trying to get dropped items is a pain in the arse.

These boots are also from a quest which is fairly easy to get.

Starting with this quest: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10177 (3 part quest chain)

There's plenty of stuff missing

Engi Goggs, Steamvault quest headpiece, Shadow Labs first boss drop headpiece.

To only name the headpieces.

Not really. Offering half a dozen options for every slot doesn't actually help most people. My aim was to offer the 1 best-in-slot easy-to-get blue option. Sure, I may have missed something. The engineering goggles obviously are superior but they're engineer only, that excludes more than 90% of hunters. The other two head pieces are simply not as good as the SMV quest reward.

Sure but they're all options and I think such a list should include all items that are viable to enter Karazhan with.

Well it's your thread of course I just wanted to raise that concern ;)

Enchanting any of the above polearms will make them pretty usable for PvE. However, still doesn't beat

Sonic Spear.

I have found that Vindicator boots are a must and dont really get replaced till post Kara, the next best drops somewhere in the last 3-4 bosses in kara but still arent that good.

I found this very useful, thanks for taking your time, I would however appreciate if you completed the list :)

A couple of options wouldn't hurt either, just like 3 items per slot or something, even two would be nice. It would also be sweet if you could add an entry for when we can expect to replace an item you've listed. IE, Im getting my surestrike goggles v2.0 pretty soon, with what can i expect to replace them, and when?

This is a great list for someone starting out and for someone in a 'new' Kara team. If someone is alting or joining a well established Kara group you can get away with more PvP gear. Especially the epic gear. Also the hunter arena axe is very desirable and achievable. Don't forget the new PvP blues that you can get for faction rep from all over outland. By the time you run Kara a few times you should be going for heroics and saving up badges for the Sunwell Isle gear. Whie PvP may lack punch a new Kara team is likely to have a less well geared tank so the lack of punch means aggro control is easier. Just make sure you aren't going to be there all day trying to kill the boss :P

I suggest Savagery enchant (+70 AP/RAP on 2h; 4 Large Prismatic Shard, 40 Arcane dust). It's far more cheaper and easier to get than Major Agility (+35 agil on 2H weapon; 8 Large Prismatic, 6 Greater Planar Essence, 20 Arcane Dust)
Also you can try to get 1H 'monkey' or 'bandit' weapons and enchant with Agility (+15 agil)

Ranged Weapon:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27987 from Black Morass
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31303 from AH

Ranged weapons cant be enchanted, but you can put scope on it (I suggest Khorium Scope - 12dmg or Stabilized Eternium Scope - 28 crit rating)

Trinkets:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28288 TK:Mechanar (you need flying mount to get inside)

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28034 Black Morras

There should be information that felstalker set requires Leatherworking (350) , too bad for me not being leatherworker :(

Edit: Great post though, good job done.

Edit II: only the set bonus needs 350 leatherworking
