If you're interested in HAEP - Hunter Agility Equivalence Points - then you might like to know I've turned my battered old spreadsheet into a shiny new web application:

http://haep.kiss-of-ysera.net/

If you don't know what HAEP is, check out http://forums.tkasomething.com/viewforum.php?f=1 . In summary it's a way to arbitrarily weight stats, and thus rate gear. Bear in mind that you should always try and get a balanced set of gear, not just focus on one particular stat.

Finally, this is still a work in progress, there's lots of things I'd like to improve, but I figured I might as well share it. Hope it's of some use to you all.

Reported for sticky.
The Beast Lord Cuirass had its spelling corrected.
Cloak of the Inciter is missing in the list but I presume it's because it's work in progress.

Great tool.
Would it be possible to have preset build weighting? The results in some cases would be similar I presume, but a SV would give more rating to agi/crit and BM/MM to AP.

Fetch!

Excellent!

Really useful for me as I am 69 and need to start working on my gear before I join Karazhan.

Thanks for the positive feedback :)

I've added some more items for Back, Ring, Trinkets and Weapons, and posted a 'to do' list on the homepage.

I've purposely stayed away from pre-determined build weightings thus far. This is prolly completely subjective, and sure to be a point for lots of discussion. For myself, as a 'just entered Kara' Survival hunter, I use the following:
4 Sta, 13 Agi, 6 AP, 10 Crit, 8 Hit, 20 Mp5, 5 Int, 90 per socket, 140 per meta socket.

Finally I'd encourage ppl to make sure they've read the tkasomething posts a few times, until they start making sense. Otherwise these ratings will be meaningless.

Not bad Kirrina, not bad at all =)

One thing ive that came to my attention testing it out:
As a survival hunter i aim to stack as much agility as possible, without gimping myself too much in other areas. A few testruns of your application on headpieces will always show f.ex. rift stalker helm below demon stalker helm. First i thought that the item weighting was off, untill i noticed the stats of the rift stalker: They are wrong. I thought they were the old stats at first, but a quick search revealed that they are not, they are just not the right ones =)

A system like this already exists btw (the idea is excellent always making it hard to be the first hehe). Take a look at lootzor.com. Here's one of the search options i regularly use:

http://www.lootzor.com/index.php?c=2&l=70&b=0&s=-1&r=7&g=3&i=10&z=5&p=bfu15hcau5hcbu5hccu1hecu5hedu10heeu5hefu5habeu5

However, as you have your own system you also have full control over it. Who knows, it might evolve to become the best ;)

@Ondskaben - yeh the rift stalker gear was just plain wrong. Ahem, sorry. Thanks for sharing the www.lootzor.com url - nice to see what else is out there, and this certainly looks interesting. I've yet to decide how much more complicated this app is gonna get - things like data mining are not on my agenda atm, but obviously I need good data in the tool, so I may need to look into this.

Anyways, if you there's anything you really want in this app, I will ofc consider it.

Missing some items. I wanted to see the differences between Rift Stalker Mantle and Mantle of the Tireless Tracker http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30085, and noticed the latter one wasn't listed.

Right then - message heard and understood. Obviously without correct data this tool ain't gonna be much use, so I've written a little app to update all the stats with data provided by Allakhazam. So, everything should now be 100% correct. However this has only gone through the items I already was displaying, so the next step is to go through the entire list of items from Allakhazam, filter them to discard the ones I'm not going to display, and then upload those to the site. This will add a whole bunch of items, so should be pretty much up to date. I'll see if I can get that done today, so you can play around with it over the weekend.

p.s. to tell whether your version is cached, if the item names are purple/blue/green you're looking at the new version.

Apart from data integrity, what else would you like to see this thing do?

A reset (to standard values) button to the weigthings would be nice.
A suggested BM/MM/SV weigthing set as proposed earlier.
And TK, BT gear ofc :D

Is it possible to include haste rating? I know not too many items have this yet, but I believe some form BT do, at least.

Also, I suppose it's hard to work out a system for "use" or "chance on hit" items...that mainly affects trinkets I imagine.

gah, just wrote a nice lengthy reply covering a variety of updates and explanations and then I got logged out, so the text got wiped. Blizz, sometimes I really hate your forums....

In summary:

1. Items from SSC, BT, TK and Hyjal added
2. Reset button added
3. Haste/chance on hit are spells, which means they're not real stats, which means they are not easily available (or available at all) from my data sources. I would have to add these manually.
4. Basic spec weighting is next on the to do list. I will pick the most common spec from each tree, play around with some numbers and hopefully come up with something not too disagreeable.
