This whole argument is all blizzards fault for not going out with information earlier.

Blizzard should take full responsability and fix this as smooth as possible, so a thousand of players havent wasted more than 3 months on nothing!

Think arena should be all about the skills!

With the recent addition of Arenas, we thought we’d share some information to try and answer some player questions as well as address concerns:

There should be no downtime between Arena Season 1 and Arena Season 2. Arena Season 2 is planned to start the week right after Arena Season 1 ends.
There are plans to update all Arena items with each new Arena season. The items for Arena Season 2 are already done and ready to go.
Players will be able to save up to 5.000 Arena points at any one time, and currently we do not plan to reset these points with the start of a new Arena Season.
The top 0.5% of the teams of each bracket will receive the Netherdrake epic flying mount, as well as the top Arena title. This means that the top 0.5% of the teams in the 2v2 bracket, the top 0.5% of the teams in the 3v3 bracket, and the top 0.5% of the teams in the 5v5 bracket will all receive the Netherdrake and the title.
Every player on these top teams who has played at least 20% of the total games of the team for the Arena Season will receive these rewards.
There will be 4 titles total for players to earn. The highest ranked title is for the top 0.5% of the teams. The specific % needed for the remaining 3 ranks will be revealed as they become finalised.
This in-game Arena Season is completely separate from the Arena Tournament. Tournament qualifiers will not receive a Netherdrake mount by default.

We don't have an end-date for the first season for you yet.

I will update the first post with this information as well.

We just received another update regarding the next arena season:

The second arena season will start some time after patch 2.1 goes live, but will not go live with patch 2.1.

We will let you know about two weeks in advance before the start of the second season.

Ok, could please clarify that it is the top 0.5% of the bracket and that includes the ones that are not shown in the armory(as explained earlier due to the limit of 5000 teams avaible for showing at the armory)?

However you didn't tell us anything more about how the forumla goes for which teams that are considered the "top teams" during an entire season. For example in a 4 week span is it more valuble having been ranked #1 twice and then ranked #1000 twice then it is to have been ranked say #100 for four weeks in a row?

Since you earlier said that it was based on the entire season I think alot of teams wonder this since not all teams were created at the start of the season, some teams have been reformed etc, we dont know now how their situation is, or even if they have a chance of going for the top 0.5% if they missed out on some weeeks.

And will come the new patch, i think is too long this season 4 or 5 mounths puff... is this a joke? some teams are 3 teams inside on 0´5% and we will have to wait another mounth !!!

Will the previous gladiator gear still be availebel so we can complete the set when arena season 2 starts?

I why do they nerf warriors if they see that warlocks and mages dominate the top rankings of the arena, would it not be logical if you want ballanced game play to nerf the casters and gives the warriors some buffs or just leave them as they are? But ofcourse mages have always been prefered by blizzard, they even can kill when mounted, i'm not able to scratch my noice mounted.
But blabla... they will never change it and they will stay twice as strong and unballanced.

But what about the old gear; will i still be able to buy it to complete the set?

Still need an answer. Ommra we are damn eager to know that. And it's a really serious question. Will it be that Top teams decided through calculation of their standings throughout whole season or just by the last week as it was with the tournament. Many teams (as mine for example) gave up playing the arena just because:
a: we have everything from arena
b: we are tired of wasting our nerves for keeping high rank every week for nothing
I's a great information that u gave us - especially that u will tell us 2 weeks before the season ends. But we still need to know do we need to play untill that time and keep the high standing every week or could we rest sometime and resume playing last week? Ommra tells us plz :P I'm quite sure that this bit of information will make hundreds of players happy beyond the imagination.

It is the top 0.5% of the bracket, including teams that might not be shown in the Armoury.

What I meant was that since it's a ladder tournament, it is easier to be amongst the highest ranked teams at the end of the season if you have been successful throughout the season (as teams move up the ladder if they win and down if they lose). But to clarify, it is the top teams at the end of the season that will receive the Netherdrake.

Oh, and the Netherdrake requires riding skill 375 to use and not 300 as I previously wrote >.< Sorry about that. It's been changed in the original post.

Thanks a lot for this very informative and impossible to misunderstand post, Ommra.

These awnsers sound like music to my ears, but about the armory issue: is there any possible way to find out how many teams there are exactly in a bracket? So much uncertainty for teams that have a rating > 25.

If your team qualifies as the top 0.5% for the final week of the season but you don't play the 10 games required to get points what happens? Do you lose out on your mount?

I seriously doubt you need to play 10 games, it is your rating that counts not the 10 games played. You will ofcourse not receive the honor of that week but you should get your Netherdrake. So basically no. 1 in my battlegroup with 2600 rating (2vs2) can chill for 4 weeks before the rest of the top 10 have caught up with them :)

Dear Ommra , I want to thank you for your help about these arena questions.

I think there is an unfair sitiuation here.I just want to give an example about this.

My 2vs2 team setup is heal shaman and demon warlock. And we played nearly 2 month in our bracket. We always managed to enter first top 10 team.At the moment we have 2201 team raiting after 2 month later.

There is another team in our 2vs2 bracket. A good paladin and a good tank player.They are really good :)They fast made 2230 team raiting in 2 weeks.So they are in top 0.5% in our ladder. But they just made a new team and entered the arena and they farmed high raiting teams.Because they dont have something to lose.They have 1500 default team raiting and a lot of 1900 and 2k team on their way.:)And important thing is they just played 2 week .

If I understood true your message , they will be inside of 0.5% team end of the in game season and they will take netherdrake.

So this is not fair but also life is not fair too :)

If you say that " yes this is arena system what blizzard planned" than we just learn to live with it.

Its warlock class ability learn to live with ne..... uh ı mean little changes :)

But as ı said again, its not fair :)

Between decreasing %30 season attendance to %20 is really a nice help. Thanks to Blizzard for it.
