Engineering
* A recipe for "Frost Grenades" and the "Icy Blasting Primers" needed to make them are now on engineering trainers.
* Engineering recipes can now be placed in engineering bags, as can engineer made fireworks.
* Many engineering recipes will now give skillups for longer than the previously did.
* "Seaforium" now opens locked chests as well as locked doors
* The Poultryizer and Nigh Invulnerability Belt now cause mishaps less often.
* The Goblin Rocket Launcher cooldown has been reduced significantly.
* 11 new epic goggles have been introduced at 350 engineering skill and are available from the trainer. They range from cloth to plate, and have a variety of stats to appeal to most talent specs.



So here is some initial feedback for blizzard

* A recipe for "Frost Grenades" and the "Icy Blasting Primers" needed to make them are now on engineering trainers.
How useful this is depends entirely on the material costs. Check up how much the materials cost in our Auction Houses. If they cost 1-2g for a 5second effect it is just not going to get used.

* Engineering recipes can now be placed in engineering bags, as can engineer made fireworks.
I'm 375 Engineer so I'll just learn recipes, and I don't use an Eng bag, but a nice little bug fix I suppose.

* Many engineering recipes will now give skillups for longer than the previously did.
An important fix for those that were smart enough to wait. (P.S: can i have my 1500g back?)

* "Seaforium" now opens locked chests as well as locked doors
Cool, thank you. I presume new Seaforium recipe will be added as our current highest one is 275 skill, and costs a fortune in materials. Thorium is very expensive these days.

* The Poultryizer and Nigh Invulnerability Belt now cause mishaps less often.
Nice, wonder how big an improvment this is. I don't have them so not really qualified to comment.

* The Goblin Rocket Launcher cooldown has been reduced significantly.
Hmm, did you mean Casttime? It has a cooldown of 5min, which is fine tbh because I never fire it. It has a 5 second Casttime which is what needs to be reduced. You can give it zero cooldown and I still won't use it. Reduce the Casttime and increase the stun instead, I miss my Goblin Rocket Helment stun.

* 11 new epic goggles have been introduced at 350 engineering skill and are available from the trainer. They range from cloth to plate, and have a variety of stats to appeal to most talent specs
Thanks I suppose, I'm quite happy with the Mail Goblin one atm, but its good to give options to everyone. Will these be upgradeable?


Final Remarks:
(1) Where is the upgradeable epic gun !!!

(2) What are you doing about the material costs of Ammo, Sapper Charges (old and new), etc.

(3) Did ye read ANY of the player posts in the last 3 months?

IF the above changes are the majority of what we are getting then I'll be dropping engineer, which is a pity as I just got the 28 Crit Scope recipe last week :( I want an upgradeable, slow hitting, epic gun!
If there is alot more changes that what is listed above, they ye made a very poor choice is choosing which info to give out.

Oh, while we are talking of goggles. The two Goblin epic helmets, require 375 skill to make. 350 skill to use. But are BoP .....

And in my excitement I forgot, didn't we use to have lots of Trinkets ?
And can we get a Practical way to change specialisation!

I think the more important part of the post you quoted was "over time", this patch doesn't encompass all of the changes coming for engineering. These changes aren't going to alleviate a lot of the concerns and complaints with engineering in a single patch, we fully understand that and are already planning or implementing more changes for future patches. So I've some questions for blizz that I'd like to see answered:

(1) Do you intend to give engineers an Upgradable Epic Gun ? Ever ?
(2) Will we get replacements for any of the old trinkets, Goblin Rocket Helm, Mind Control, Reflectors, etc.
(3) Will the costs of Grenades, Ammo, Bombs, Sapper Charges, be reduced to reasonable prices?
(4) Will we get a practical way to change Specialisation?
(5) How long a time frame might the above changes take, are we seriously looking at 9 - 15 Months ?

Some new googles. Nice!
But still no way of getting money. All items require engineering. Almost no boe recepies.

Epic upgradable gun like the weapons for BS would be an ide.

Are we supposed to use the repair bot and the seaforium charge with mats from "old" wow?
Do you have any clue on the prices for them and how long it would take farm for them since you have to go to the old world.

I did see talk about a portable mailbox. Dont know where but it is a nice ide.

No items from engineering can be used in arenas. Why can tailors use their items?

I agree that the announced engineering changes were dissapointing.

Many ppl said not to get your hopes up about the review, but i guess I kinda did. Was hoping at least some of the suggestions over the last few months would of reached the developers but it appears not.

For the life of me I can't understand why it takes them so long to come up with so little.

And not to mention the responsible person lacks all understanding of the profession or in other words he is most likely rather incompetent.

Wtf? I was patient on the revamp thinking they'd need to spend a lot of time reworking some of the fundamentals of engineering yet all they've done is some pathetically minor fixes + a new set of goggles?

Seriously that's a friggin joke Blizzard and makes engineering no more appealing.

Did you even read any of the feedback on it?

Are these new goggles even going to be craftable or have a stupid bug like our existing decent cloth ones that means we can't make them - a bug that's been there since TBC went live and would take a part-trained monkey 5 minutes to fix.

There seems to be a fundamental disconnection between the devs and the community facing part of Blizzard. On the one hand you recognise there's alot of problems with engineering and ask for suggestions and on the other hand you completely ignore this feedback and hardly improve it.

I don't care if there's more changes planned in future patches, you're telling me if took 2 months to do this supposed major engineering revamp? What new stuff to we have to look forward to in a future patch, finally the appearance of the legendary pink flare?

I'd like to shove some fused wiring where the sun don't shine in your devs.

And that means that we will get patterns that are already outdated for most of us.
Everyone else gets things they can use during leveling and beyond. We get flares and such crap.
You can't expect us to accept that we will get one small "update" in 2 years in one content patch and then you will focus on the other professions again. We need a complete overhaul.
Not a few added schematics of things noone will use becouse it is worse than common drops.

Also if you are to make a preview it should realy be things that are interesting. More grenades that most likely cost a arm and two legs combined with your virility or something to make isn't what we want to see.
We want to see that you are acctually making a complete rehaul and rethinking.
Nothing of this is shown. Only things noone is that interested in.
Poor way to make a preview.
