First post was general overview and explanation how this gonna work. This post informs us that this week there will be live maintenance according to new schedule and consists of details about this weeks maintenance. While first post will remain as sticky thread for some time, this will last only till tomorrow and then will be removed.

Heh thats very nice, and I am glad its being cut down so much: But a downtime of 1.5 hours is NOT 'live' maintenence.

Neither is it 'Hot maintenence'. Both of those terms are used in server administration to denote NO DOWNTIME.

Any person in business who described that as such would be laughed at by the other techs.

If you actually read the post you would see they said that every other week there is a 1 hour downtime, and the week after there is NO downtime. For instance, this week we will have a 1-1.5 hour downtime, next week there will be 'live' maintenance, where there will be no downtime whatsoever. Then the week after will be a 1 hour downtime, and so on.

You should just keep maintenance as it is. Its one day of the week kids have to go to sleep!

Actually the sentence in the OP post "This means that we will only be doing rolling restarts of all realms." is more likely to lead some confusion. 'Live maintenance' previously has not taken the form of 1 or 2 hour server downtime.

Yes, I'm confused. The previous "Live Maintenance" was a rolling restart, which was like a normal rolling restart and was maybe ten mins?

I assumed from the data given on the login screen that this would be similar, but now I see not. I'm confused. EIther it's a live maintenance.. or it isn't.

did you first of all read the 2 posts about the mantinace mate !!

well b4 the 1.5 hr shut down blizzard runns their live mantinace as we play and when it comes to the rest of the mantinace they shut down the servers fora SHORT period of time !! and that time is for about 1.5 HR so the 1.5 hr is not LIVE MANINACE !! =)))
