We're currently gathering class feedback from players for Wrath of the Lich King concerning thoughts on the areas of each class that is perceived to be most in need of improvement. This thread is not intended for discussion purposes and we ask that you please review the below format before presenting your feedback. It's very important for us to be able to review all provided feedback and as a result, not following the required format will very likely result in your post being removed.
  • List your primary talent tree(s), i.e. Holy/Disc.

  • List the content you're primarily pursuing or most enjoy, i.e. Raiding, PvP, Solo, etc...

  • Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement (you may list a maximum of three issues and each issue should be described in one or two sentences).

  • List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

Please remember to be constructive when providing feedback, and avoid discussions with others so that this thread can remain a promising and reliable source for feedback. It's also important to note that we're not looking for suggestions on how aspects of your class can be improved, but rather which areas are in need of improvement by your own assessment. im playing arms/fury 35/23/3
Im doing pvp mostly so i can only give feedback on that side of the game.
What i feel is most needed is to give warriors more surivability. were too vulnerable to magical damage, and if we socket our gear with stamine/resilience gems our dps gets gimped. I would also like to see pummel removed off gcd, but i guess thats too much to hope for.

Talent distribution: 36/22/3 Arms/Fury/Protection

Favourite content: Varies, I enjoy all aspects of the game. However I enjoy group activities the most since cooperating to beat challenges are way more fun than only doing it yourself. I would probably rate the sense of achievment something in the lines of: Raiding > PVP > 5man > Solo, with pvp being very close to the raiding bit.

I think there should be an option for more challenging 10man raids. a long fight is np, as long as it's active and interesting.
I also think that we have way too many tank/dps hybrids.
Otherwise I feel devs have good plans for the future.

Skillwise I feel I haven't tested everything for every class yet, but rend is definately something I'd look over again :)

Rampage, does not scale unlike the lesser talent improved berserker stance. raid buffedi have close to 3000 attack power, and 250 just isnt that much, and it can be a mission to keep it up.

Shouts. Battle shout and commanding shout need a longer duration and the spirit healer buff doesnt affect them, yet preperation does?

Rend... totally useless, make it stack or something.

Deep wounds, Critical strikes shouldnt reset it. As fury deep wounds doesnt tick that much as im critting alot which means i could be losing 150 damage every 2 seconds.

Off hand specialization, Rogues get 50% we got 25% why? Offhands dont do much damage, but wouldnt mind it being better

-Defences against magical burst damage, to lower the number of healers you need for arena pvp and to increase the numbers of viable setups a warrior can play in.
-More Reactive spells bound to (bigger) cooldowns, warriors simply need more buttons to press since we currently are an easy class to master.
-More diffrence in Hit Points between warriors and casters.


* List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)
-Endless rage , not a bad talent. But it definatly hold a spot in the talent tree where a more FUN talent should be located.
-Improved Mortal Strike, Currently holding a higher tier than 2-handed weapon specialization and still it provide less benefit.
-Rend do really low damage, should increase its damage against high armored targets.
-Blood craze and Deep wound"s" do not stack in any way.
-Iron Will provide charm resistance, a benefit that almost never ticks in.

i am usually 17/44 fury build

i mostly enjoy raiding

fury at the moment is a pure raid spec,it should be made more 5-man/pvp friendly

1)unchain enrage and flurry,enrage is useless for PvE raiding and a rading spec shouldn't be forced to have it
2)make rampage scale with gear,+250 ap for 30 rage and global cd isnt huge for bt/hyjal equipped warriors
3)fix deep wounds,let it do its damage,crits renewing its duration is making it lose ticks
4)buff/change rend,it's a useless skill after you hit lvl 20's
5)change the place of piercing howl

    In terms of Protection:


    • PvP and Soloing. As Protection it's possible to solo grind and to Pvp. But it's quite painful to do this.

      Outgearing instances. When Protection warriors get better gear it become more difficult to do normal instances as you take less damage and end up rage-starved.

    Deathwish make it stack with enrage, making it useful again.

    Put the old imp Hamstring back so you could get 70% slowing total from talents to compensate for 10s duration.

    Improved MS should be 0.5s reduction for each talent and making endless rage useful also

    Make Bloodthirst healing scale from damage done like vampiric embrace

    Restore old imp cleave to hit more targets making this talent useful.

    Main talent tree: arms
    Primary pursuit: erm... none tbh, that's quite realm circumstancial though.
    Areas to change:
    1) Lack of utility. In an age where every other class is getting diversified, warriors still spec arms for PvP, prot or fury for PvE with little-to-no variation internally.
    2)Fight control in PvP. Basically a warrior constantly has to react to what his opponent is doing and is never in charge of how a fight goes - especially vs a mage or druid. This mostly goes for 1v1 and blah blah blizzard don't care about 1v1 but i think we should at least have a fighting chance.
    3) We have an anti-crit stat now, we've always had an anti melee damage stat... i'd like to see armor do something against magic. Warriors are supposed to be durable but without a healer following us round we get destroyed by mages who have 3k less hp and a quarter of our armor.

    Spells:
    1) Fury and arms 51 point talents are next to useless, especially arms - fury less so but it badly needs to scale. Also imp MS is not worth 5 points (hope this counts as 1)
    2) Improved rend should be removed or buffed considerably.
    3) I don't like the way half our half are so blatantly easy to avoid. Who's going to cast a big damage spell when you have a big shield floating over your head? Reflect was a nice addition in BC but it's far too obvious and usually gets wasted by an icelance or similar.
    4) Flurry, Enrage, Dwish stacking again please.
    5) OP maybe, but i'd like to see recklessness use-able in arenas. If this requires a small nerf so be it, but it's barely worse than AR, coldsnap etc.

    Shouts should last longer [at least double, like paladin`s blessings]
    Higher survivability against magic attacks. Wearing plate isn`t much of an advantage to counter that.




    Tactical mastery doesn`t belong in Protection Tree.
    Remove rend or make it scale with AP or something which makes it useful.

    Talents: Protection (52), Increase Dodge
    Content: Mostly solo, and some instances. I just don't have the time it takes for raiding, and pvp with a tank is not so fun.

    Improvement: I think we needs some magic resistance. Put a talent early into the Protection tree for resisting a bit. And lower the cost of Shield Reflection, 25 rage is too high.

    -Helpless againist CC in any from if trinket is on CD
    -Hitting shield pisses me off by miles more than my char!

    -Rend does tiny damage, should scale or stack somehow.
    -Blood craze and Deep wound"s" do not stack in any way, Blood Craze is just so weak, maybe remove it and add somtin totally new, imho buffing it would be a bit OP
    -Bigger durations to shouts, they r one of the strongest buffs tho also the shortest

    I love (yeah strangely enough it died) fury pvp, I think it should make a comeback.

    Fury needs a buff in pvp. Arms isn't the only one out there. We cannot leave Fury to be a 'raiding talent'.

    It needs to be more viable for pvp, not just 'The tree of AP' .

    Rage generation against parry, miss,dodge, absorb, and anything else could use some help.

    *Poleaxe need a redesign, with the resilience changes, it isn't much worth it.

    *Demoralizing shout needs a redesign, should decreases the amount of AP by someone with % stackable, and should be able to silence. (On the silence part, maybe a new shout alone intergrated)

    *Berserker Stance is taking way too much damage. 10% is devastating, having Deathwish enabled as well, it might come at a cost and a gain, but it's too beneficial for the enemy.

    *Cleave needs to brought back to the state it was, not just attacking 2 people, but multiple.Maybe something like the attack of Mother Shahraz.

    *Rampage should scale with your AP, not just blindly grant 250 AP. If you have a enormous amount of AP, 250 is quite miniscule, even with Improved Berserker Stance. Maybe it could scale with %.

    *(yes I know, it's the 6th but I couldn't get it off my mind) Improved Intercept should be higher in the talent tree of arms. Fury warriors are having a hard time without it for proper pvp.

    1.CROWD CONTROL!
    Warriors right now are so vulnerble to crowd control, especially combinations of different types. Say Sheep --> Sheep --> Frost Nova --> Cone of Cold. This will make the warrior impossible to deal any damage for straight 20 seconds. A 2 minute trinket that removes all crowd control at that moment is not enough. I spent more time being crowd controlled in arena then dealing damage.

    2.Survivability
    The surviability of warriors is laughable at best. A warrior cannot be a serious competition in the arenas without a healer at his back. When we look at other classes, everyone can make the damage done to him alot lower, iceblock for example. Defensive stance and that 250 icelance reflect every 10 seconds are a flaw. Something like cloak of shadows would be really neat.

    3.Hitpoints
    The difference of HP between warrior and other classes is so low. Espeically warlocks, a caster class, having more hitpoints than a warrior makes me emo. Wasn't it warrior characteristics to be the class with the most HP?

    * Improvement on spells/abilities/talents

    1.Hamstring and Improved Hamstring
    Hamstring can't keep up with all the other snares: Crippling Poison, Wingclip, Cone of Cold, Frostbolt (Talented). The movement decrease of hamstring + improved hamstring should be something like -70% (-60% base and -70% talented for example).

    2.Rend and Improved Rend
    Rend is a total joke, with one of the best DPS weapons in game, you're gonna do a total of 250 damage over 21 seconds. Either make it something comparable to a warlock DoT, around 1500 damage over 21 seconds, or remove it completely.

    3.Berserker Stance
    Berserker Stance is outdated. Where +3% critical strike chance VS 10% more damage taken was fair before the expansion, it now is totally unfair with the coming of resilience. Either change the ability to something like +10% damage and 10% more damage taken, or the other way around: +3% critical strike chance and 3% more chance to get critted. Another thing would be to enhance the movement speed a bit or extra snare resistance while in Berserker Stance.

    4.Iron Will
    Iron Will gives charm resistance, there are hardly any skills that are charm effects. An improvement would either change the charm resistance for fear resistance or snare resistance.

    5.Tactical Mastery
    Tactical Mastery should switch places with Improved Thunder Clap, this would be so much more logical. The only moment where a Protection switches out of Defensive Stance is on encounters where fear comes in, meaning he has to go to Berserker Stance to use Berserker Rage which costs 0 RAGE. Thunder Clap is a Protection Talent, it hardly helps in PvP. Tactical Mastery is a PvP talent, it hardly helps in PvE.

    Areas that need attention:

    -Viability of 2h damage-dealing in PvE. When I go into an instance swinging around an axe that's bigger than some player characters, I'd like to match the damage of someone wielding two butter knives. I think it comes down to rage more than anything else.

    -Survivability against magic-using mobs and players. The physical damage reduction from armour feels a little low as well, but it's nowhere near as much of a problem.

    -Rage income for PvE damage-dealers.

    Abilities/talents that need attention:

    -The lack of worthwhile DPS talents in the first two tiers of arms.
    -Rend needs to scale with attack power or weapon damage much much more, or be removed altogether.
    -Anger management's rage generation effect seems really weak.

    - Would like to see improvments to fury for PvP, fury for PvP isent that good now so i would be nice to see some increase in a fury warriors surviability in the BGs.

    - Would like to see some ability other than spell reflect to be able to absorbe or minmize the dmg from spells, could be like a new ability with perhaps 5 min cd, reduses spell dmg taken by 40% for 5 sec or something.
    - Would like to remove the talent Bloodfrency and make it so that when ever u use rend the target gets that debuff, thereby making rend abit more usefull.

    I'm mostly doing pvp, aka Arenas, but I also enjoy 5 man tanking.

    Issues:
    1) Protection grinding and pvp. When specced prot, grinding is easy but too slow, and as for pvp, you can only perform well in duels and AV (mob tanking or the rare pvp tanking). Arenas are way too hard to succeed even in hybrid prot. For pvp, a talent skill similar to blind could be added at devastate level (even if only usable on pvp targets).

    2)No real gear counter to spell damage (except the overall dmg counter of resilience). Most cloth classes (all spellcasters) have slightly improved armor in every new gear tier, providing an extra 2-3% mitigation.
    That is partially countered with armor penetration.
    But casters also get considerable spell penetration, and the lowly resistance that a warrior can build up (enchants, gems) is easily destroyed.
    Some (3-5) resistance to all magic schools on some arena pieces would be welcome.

    Abilities/Talents:
    1) Rend, and improved rend are useless at lvl 70, and actually become useless during the levelling process, once you get MS or BT as a rage dump(lvl 40).

    2) Spell reflect. It's obviously a great addition, and works wonders in 1v1 or 2v2 situations, but after that the one spell reflected limitation (despite the lucky double reflect) makes it extremely hard to handle, especially with some lag.
    Maybe making it reflect your target's next spell in the next second or two and the rest of the time from any target would make it somewhat easier to use.

    3) Sword/poleaxe spec vs mace spec. The chance for the mace stun to occur has been reduced, but not enough to put it on the same level as the other two in pvp.
    Since mace spec has little use in pve and less in raid pve, the chance could be lowered but some damage increase added, giving it equal overall value with the other two and equal usefulness in pvp as well.
