We're currently gathering class feedback from players for Wrath of the Lich King concerning thoughts on the areas of each class that is perceived to be most in need of improvement. This thread is not intended for discussion purposes and we ask that you please review the below format before presenting your feedback. It's very important for us to be able to review all provided feedback and as a result, not following the required format will very likely result in your post being removed.
  • List your primary talent tree(s), i.e. Holy/Disc.

  • List the content you're primarily pursuing or most enjoy, i.e. Raiding, PvP, Solo, etc...

  • Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement (you may list a maximum of three issues and each issue should be described in one or two sentences).

  • List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

Please remember to be constructive when providing feedback, and avoid discussions with others so that this thread can remain a promising and reliable source for feedback. It's also important to note that we're not looking for suggestions on how aspects of your class can be improved, but rather which areas are in need of improvement by your own assessment. When we have collected enough feedback we will reply back to this thread thanking everyone for their assistance, and the thread will be locked. Thank you very much for your participation!

Hi, I'm a BM hunter and love virtually everything about my class, but there are a couple of changes I'd absolutely love to see:

a) An improvement in Trap Mechanics... it appears to me that the hunter class traps (in PvE only btw) are not the safest form of crowd control and could do with an improvement. It doesn't seem fair that we are the only class that has to 'pull' our CC targets into a trap, only to find it resist or break early. Every other class seems to have a 'Select Target + insta CC ability'. I also play a high level rogue and the CC use with that class is a significantly easier process by a country mile.

b) I'd really love to see customizable armour/armour kits or whatever for hunter pets, made with the leatherworking profession (or BS or something like that) that not only adjusts the pet's stats accordingly but also alters their appearance slightly. The wolves in HFC for example look fantastic with extra armour and stuff, so it'd be nice to have the same kind of thing for hunter pets to customize their looks/stats a bit more.

That is all. Thankyou for listening.

My talents are 5/11/45.

I enjoy mostly PvP and soloing, raiding once in a while, but nothing "hard-core".

As for areas, a lot of mobs are too closely grouped together, making pulls extremely difficult or even impossible without deaths.

As for spells, abilities and talents; During PvP encounters you always get somehow "stuck". A rogue saps you, then a paladin stuns you, then a mage polymorphs you, then a warlock fears you, then you die and start all over. You basically don't get a change to do any damage during battlegrounds unless you gain no "aggro" (No player attacking you). No traps, no potions, no nothing.
When soloing and a rogue attacks you from behind unexpectedly, you're as good as dead. Before you are even able to fight back, you got a poison on you, lost about 15% Health and the rogue has at least 2 "red dots" for superior damage.
Healing pets. When you activate the Mend Pet ability, you'll have to wait a second or two before the ability actually starts to heal your pet, and that is enough time to get your pet killed if it's low on health.

Hi,

I've always been a deep MM Hunter until the BM-love patch (I think it was 2.1). Since then I've been a 41/20/0 BM/MM/SV hunter. I've focused on PvE'ing in a modest guild, right now finishing TK & SSC. In order to improve the hunter class I think some things are really needed:

- As stated before, a way to increase pet's % to hit. Might be via an ingame book drop, beast training, equip (like gems)...
- I think the MM is completely broken from the PvE raiding pov (for PvP I find it great). Right now it's almost impossible to do a high-DPS shot rotation in a boss being full MM. Our mana dissapears so fast... Maybe Efficiency might me moved forward in the MM tree and have it's mana cost reduction increased.
- The talent I think that could be changed is Improved Hunter's Mark. To make it a good talent choice it could either:
* (5/5) Give melee AP but not only base, scale up to the 440 AP cap.
* (5/5) Adds a +25% AP to your current Hunter's Mark ranged AP. It means that with 5/5 you'll have base 137AP - max 550 AP. Of course, that will scale with possible new ranks of Hunter's Mark.

Thanks for all :)

Talents: Survival / Marksman

Content: Raiding and Arenas

Problem Areas:
1) Marksman Tree
- Redesigning the MM tree so that it is no longer essential for all builds to put at least 20 points into this to acquire Mortal Shots.
2) Pet Variation
- Although I can perfectly understand the normalisation of pets, this has detracted from the enjoyment of 'stalking' a rare pet with a slightly different skill set, or stats. I think the taming of rare pets which give a minor bit of variation or even buff compared to other pets of their class should be reconsidered to give hunters more options.

Redesign:
1) Master Tactician
- a good survival build has huge crit rating anyway, greatly reducing any benefit from this talent. Additionally the talent has a very low proc rate combined with short duration for a penultimate tier, 5 point talent.
2) Mortal Shots
- have to reiterate, this +30% critical damage talent is not optional. Quite simply for any beast master or survival build to achieve reasonable DPS this talent is essential. At a 16 - 20 points talent within the MM tree this severely restricts hunters options outside of MM builds.
3) Lightning Reflexes
- Following the reduction by 50% of the AP gain from agility this talent never received 'compensation', it is still capped at +15% agility but now that agility has considerably less benefit than before. Perhaps increase the agility cap to 20% or add additional functionality.
4) Hawk Eye
- This is still seen as a requirement rather than optional talent. Perhaps this should be moved to a trainable skill rather than a talent or have the effect included as part of the functionality of engineer scopes once fitted to a ranged weapon.

* Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement
1. Shot Rotations
Either we are stuck staring at our casting bars all the time or we resort to a buttonmash macro.
I for one use the macro, but Id rather see this problem fixed and play the game it's meant to be played.

2. Pet customization
+Hit, +Crit, +resillience, +dodge all kinds of stats that dont scale at all.
Either allow hunters to add these stats through skills like the armor/health and resistance skills or scale it through gear to some extent.

3. CC
Directed, re-applyable Crowd Control is what makes the world (of warcraft) go 'round.
Traps that can be avoided, resisted, broken, trinketed out-of and not reapplied might be balanced in pvp, but in PvE they are useless.
Traps are to cumbersome in pve, add some sort PvE only CC ability that functions more like a true CC ability. (example: polymorph)

* List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention.
1. Auto Shot
2. Aspect of the Viper (talent to improve it?)
3. Stings (to much mana for to little damage)

Hi not sure if i count as im not 70 but my talent spec is mainly MM, i have like 3 in survival which are hawk eye and a few points in BM but they were accidents and i cant be bothered to resort talents at the moment:D
I have set up my talents for the use of PvP i find that this set up is good for pvp and as i enjoy pvp the most it seems the best idea.

i feel that the hunters mark needs to be adjusted ( i may just be using it wrongly) but i see very little benefit from it especially from the improved hunters mark talent, it doesnt really seem to have that much of a purpose.

I would love to have updates to pets, like the previous post of armor kits. maybe as you level your pet you get the option to buy armor for your pet, this may be through training points or gold, some armor can have stat benefits or others purely visual, i think it would be really cool if you had this though as it would make a change to seeing loads of hunters with one similar pet. it just seems at the moment there is no real benefit from geting a 'rare' pet apart from maybe a different skin, perhaps additional bufs. i spent a while stalking my pet and yes i love it but really i think there should be more of a reward for it

definately agree with the mend pet problem, so many times i notice my pets low health i spam mend pet but its to late as the ability doesnt 'mend' straight away.

flare, i would like to increase the range of it slightly, the problem i have is that even if the flare does its job by revealing a rogue or something as it is such a small radius unles i have reacted extreemley quickly the rogue/druid still can atak as they get in range. if you make the flare range a bit bigger it would have a better purpose of reveling hidden targets with more of an actual chance of the hunter stil escaping.

distracting shot, (again this may be me using it incorrectly) but whenever i use distracting shot it doesnt distract the target, it does it perhaps 10% of the time making it really useles in a situation where you want to quickly get aggro away from the healer or something. think it needs to be improved so it does more a distract

mana, major problem for me, many say its because im a mm hunter but that just still doesnt seem right, i have all the mana talents possible i think yet i still seem to constantly be low on mana, if i dont use my main mana hog atacks then yes i save alot more mana but im doing loads less damage there seems no reason to spec mm then if i am not going to use ranged atacks. i think that there should be some buff or something to get mana back easier, or increase efficiency somehow. many bm hunters have said they were previously mm but changed because they used to much mana, i think this shouldnt have to hapen though, because trying to conserve mana playing as mm hunter is similar to not speccing mm atal as i thought the whole benefit of mm was to use ranged atacks not just auto shot. (i know its a big block but im not good with words:P)

final thing just reviewing what others have said; make arrows dps affect shots (i never knew it didnt and i cant believe it doesnt) we spend so much on arrows that dont affect the shot it seems really pointless. also because as a ranged class we need to take up one bag slot for ammo/arrows i think that these pouches should be made bigger, so instead of like a 14 slot have more like a 20, this removes the constant need to be buying arrows every time you are about to do anything

thanks for asking, good idea:D

I'm a PvP/Soloing hunter (41/20/0) and the problems i see as a beast master hunter are as following:

To much reliability in soloing on your pet using growl to keep aggro (and sometimes intimidation) I had this problem as a raid specc hunter (0/41/20 or something to that effect) that i was without an effective way of keeping aggro and my feign death was kept on cooldown, to solve this i would suggest introducing new talents in certain trees that increase threat generated by pets

Also I beleive that the pet attack speed should never have been normalized and that they should be reset, whats the point of haaving a rare pet if it doesnt have a massive effect on your dps, also it would help hunters with their playstyle. I liked using cats in pre-tbc due to their fast attacks and they were able to maintain aggro. Post-tbc they are generally useless for solo tanking, and to same effect as using bears (except bears offer more armour)

More abilities for pets need to be introduced, using a scorpid i am limited to pretty much growl, claw and their poison. if more abilities were introduced, like more passive ones it would be better.
I suggest an oppisite of the viper aspect (or whatever it's called) that slows the pet speed and increases their damage. This would help customise their pet to their playstyle

Threat reduction, this can be useful to help the pet retain aggro and not relying on feign death

improve spirit bond... the 2% regeneration is pretty much useless so i avoid that talent

A wider range of tameable pets

This can go for all other classes but: Hunter quests! with HUNTER rewards :)

thankyou blizzard for enduring my wall of text, have a nice day :)

Primary Talent Tree: Survival.

Primary Interest in the game: Raiding.

3 Areas in most need of improvement:

1) Pet viability in raids. Currently there are only 4-5 pet families viable in raids, with 1-2 clearly the best for raiding. I'd like to see more variation for pets in raids, so that all can be useful in some way.

2) Pet uniqueness. You can see many hunters running around with the same pet, partially because of problem 1. But not only make more pet families viable in raids, make more ways to customise your pets in terms of looks.

3) Hunter gear from raids. Yes, we may only DPS in raids, but each talent tree requires different gear, especially Survival, and especially in terms of the ranged weapon. Give us more choice, please.

5 Spells/Abilities/Talents in need of change and/or improvement:

1) Readiness: The longest cooldown a hunter has is 5 minutes, 3 if they have Rapid Killing. Thus, this talent is really not worth it as a 41 point talent, especially as we have to go through Master Tactician.

2) Master Tactician: Survivalists have a huge crit chance anyway, making this talent pretty useless. A redesign is needed, I feel.

3) Serpent Sting: Too little damage, too much mana cost.

4) Distracting Shot: The only reason we ever use this is because we "want" aggro, and we want it "now". Therefore, changing it so it works like a ranged taunt instead of just a high-threat shot might be effective.

Will write more when I think of them.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do this! =)

Spec: Survival/Marksmanship
Goal: Raid / PvP Arena

Gear diversity:
In terms of gear for Survival Hunters (Agility / Crit rating) I feel that Hunters are lacking a little. We are mostly wearing off-set gear or even leather items instead of tier gear. Heck even PvP gear is used for PvE for Survival Hunters. Adding a new tier set focussing on Agility / Crit rating might help. Another solution is to add a talent that transfers intellect to agility.

End Survival talent

    Master Tactician
While this buff is cool if you’re a crit-maniac, most Survival Hunters don’t use because they already have around 20-25% (unbuffed) crit pre-25 raids and around 25-40% (unbuffed) crit once nearing Black Temple. Changing this talent to something more like “Mortal Shots” would decrease the need of “Mortal Shots” in MM and boost the need to go deeper in Survival. An example would be “Increases your agility by an amount equal to 5/10/15/20/25% of your total Intellect.” (In par with “Careful Aim”). This would boost the need of Intellect on gear (thus also fix the lack of Agility/Crit on PvE gear) and it is still powerful enough to be a 35-pointer. An example of 250 Intellect would lead to 62,5 extra Agility.

    Readiness
Readiness isn’t all that great for a 41-pointer talent. Even if you could burn your cooldowns with this talent it won’t have much impact. Our three biggest cooldowns are:
    # Rapid Fire: 5 minutes cooldown (un-talented)
    # Misdirection: 2 minutes cooldown
    # Feign Death: 30 seconds cooldown
Everything below that is not worth resetting. Most Hunters rather see something else then the current Readiness.

Pet problems
Just a quick summary:
- Pets don't scale with +hit
- Pets don't scale well with Agility in terms of Agility versus AP
- Pets don't scale with +crit
- Pets still don't get partial XP from quests
- Learning skills can be done in another way so that pet dismissing isn't needed
- Pets don't scale with +resil

Most useless talents in Survival:
- Imp. Feign Death
- Readiness
- Master Tactician

Greetings,
My actual spec is 42/0/19 BM/Surv, is a pvp (Battlegrounds) oriented spec, but i do mainly raiding, anyway i tried Surv and the usual BM 41/20 which are in my opinion great specs for PvE raiding.
My actual spec is great for BGs (lots of HP, Deterrence and TBW, really great survivability) and works fine in PvE raiding (even if i know i could do better with other specs), Doesn't work great in arena (at least at higher ratings) because i miss Aimed Shot and burst damage from crits. Still, i like it.

I like my class, i play it since 2 half years right now and i never felt the urge of having many alts because i almost never get bored of behing an hunter. I tested different specs before and after TBC and i think there are few, but important, aspects of the Hunter class that need to be improved or fixed. In Order

- Mana: We have the worst mana efficiency of every class, and have to waste item points on caster stats (int, Mana per 5 seconds), in order to be able to work in long fights. We have Aspect of the Viper, but we would like to use aspect of the Hawk instead (expecially because of one of the best talents we have, Improved aspect of the Hawk)

- Pets: Pets need more customization, and more love in general. The scaling which seemed exagerate at lvl 60 (heard of a pet tanking a Naxx boss), is not working in high end lvl 70 raid content. Resilience, Armor penetration, Crit rating, Hit Rating, Haste Rating (eventually), are statistics that should scale with our pets. The actual passive skills give too little benefits (In particular for PvP), and the active pure damage skills (claw, bite, gore) do the same damage when you just dinged 70 and when you have Tier 6.

- Equip: Survival Hunters need a totally different equip than Marksmanship and Beastmasters. I dare Comparing them with Affliction and Destruction warlocks. Surv Hunters Need less hit (surefooted), Less int (Thrill of the hunt), but they really depend heavily on one stat: Agility, and sometimes they are forced to use Leather rogue items. Could use Survival Hunters Specific items.

I'm pretty fond of the Beastmastery tree, i think there's nothing much to be changed there, the other two trees could use little improvements. Marksmanship could use some adjustment (For Example Mortal Shots being too deep and with Aimed shot as prerequisite), and the Deep Survival really needs a revamp (master tactician and Readiness give very little benefit compared with other so deep talents). In particular i wanted to make you notice how our talent trees changed before and after TBC. Before TBC, Marksmanship was the raiding spec, Survival a nice pvp Spec with a lot of tricks and BM...well, good for leveling, period. After TBC, BM is great for raiding damage and good for PvP, Marksmanship the most used 3v3 and 5v5 Arena spec but doesn't work in PvE (not as good as other Specs at least) and Survival a great raiding buff spec with a decent damage, while the PvP tricks are often ignored.
That said, the skills i think could use a look at are, in order:

1) Master Tactician: Low Procrate, Low Duration, not the buff expected from a talent so deep in a talent tree. Really this talent could use a lot of love! My suggestion could be to change it with a talent that gives you a 1-5% chance to do another shot while dealing ranged damage (like a sword spec talent)
2) Aspect of the Viper: Like i said above, it could be a passive skill, so we can use aspect of the Hawk and have a decent mana regen (even with aspect of the Viper, our mana regen can't be compared with other casters)
3) Trueshot Aura: Too little buff compared with other talent trees buffs
4) Traps: In particular Freezing trap and Snake trap, the first is not a reliable form of Crowd control (can be resisted very easily, and we can't spam them, just mentioning some of the problems). The second, which could be our ultimate pvp tool, is very easy to counter (1 Area of effect Attack can kill all the snakes)
5) Steady Shot Bonus damage (there are so many things i could think of but this came first to my mind): i almost never get a chance to use the bonus damage, not even in pvp (Concussive shot is the only skill that allows me to Daze an enemy), i think the bonus damage could be lowered to 100 but make it apply when the target is slowed or immobilized, not just Dazed.

I tried to be as brief as possible but as you can see it's not my best quality. I really hope i've been of help in improving my beloved class :)

Beast/Marksman.

List the content you're primarily pursuing or most enjoy, i.e. Raiding, PvP, Solo, etc...

Raiding and PvP enjoy both of them the same amount! (Top PvP team and end game raiding.)

Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement (you may list a maximum of three issues and each issue should be described in one or two sentences).

Melee (PvP): Still near impossible to get away unless you have beastial wrath when people apply slowing effects - possible for us to get something so we can remove slowing effect, possibly with a special aspect? We are still near useless if people go for us and it's so hard for us to get away unless we group up with a Paladin in the arena.

Arrows not affecting other shots then Auto shot! Why spend nearly 2g per stack on something that only affects 50% of your shots?

List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

Mongoose bite: possible to transfer a slowing effect from you to the target? Would be awesome.

Steady shot: Way too latency based when it comes to a raiding enviroment. Possibly shorter our GCD or casting time just by 0,2-0,3 sec? It really is a problem when we are using a few haste items as BM and the people with lower latency can perform so much better.

Aspect of the Beast - Give this one extra pet dmg or something else to improve your pet! Possibly attack speed, new ability perhaps or just something to make the pet better.

Aspect of the Wild: Resist to snare and slow effects to the additional nature resist? (Unless we get the mongoose thing)

1. Pets – Varity, Mechanics and Accessibility. Currently there isn’t any reason to choose most pets over a cat as the differences between them aren’t big enough. I used to have a Cat, Turtle and Ape so I could try to have the correct pet for the job at hand however it just isn’t worth it as the differences aren’t distinct enough and more importantly the correct pet is never at hand like a warlock, you can't choose the correct tool as it is in a stable outside an in somewhere. A summon pet 1, 2 or 3 button would be nice
2. Traps – Generally I’m happy with the mechanics of Traps, the fact that it requires the player to put in more effort than a push of button is justified by flexibility and that you can CC twice if you plan correctly. However it still requires talent points to be spent to make it completely viable for general use CC due to its resist rate. Rogues had Imp Sap changed, any chance of having that -10% trap resist being given as standard
3. Talent Tree Balance – At the moment BM is the best try for Solo, Raid DPS and is still wholly viable for eating casters in PvP, Generally there isn’t enough point choosing either of the other trees unless you just like being different.

• List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)
1 Serpent Sting – Needs more reason to use it. May lower base damage with stack ability so you can’t DOT everything in PvP but can still be used to increase DPS in PvE
2 Mastery Tactician – Not really worth having due to its low proc and effect on DPS. Possibly a base increase to crit rate and a proc to increase crit strike damage
3 Humanoid/Monster Slaying – Please combine and link to whichever Tracking mode you have active
4 Silencing Shot – Needs interrupt effect to make it useful for PvE
5 Steady Shot – Don’t believe this is Currently effected by the DPS of your Ammo but still consumes it

Generally I’m happy with the Hunter, of my DPS/CC classes I have it is by far the most enjoyable and engaging to play due to you actually having to time shots and think ahead about traps rather than just hitting a button when it is needed.

End game raiding , Currently farming BT and Hyjal awaiting Sunwell

3 improvements

1, While i personally don't mind the feign death and drinking "fix" we do have mana issues that need addressing, Aspect of Viper just isn't really an option for a BM hunter, you give us an Improved Aspect of the Hawk talent that requires 5 points which is quite frankly an awsome talent and force us to use another aspect to maintain out mana.

2, Pet survivability, this really wasn't an issue until BT and Hyjal but we now have encounters where the pets take debuffs and dots that tick for 2-3k a time, reducing the damage to pets on these abilities or make pets immune to them. A problem that has occured with the feign death change is the feeding of pets during combat too. Either give us combat feeding or remove the loyalty loss upon death.

3, Ammo's dps being added to all shots, the arrow/bullet is being consumed per shot and we don't get the dps of that projectile added to every shot fired, for the amount of gold spent on the ammo we should at least get the dps of each arrow/bullet added to all shots. Having the dps add to one shot and not the other has never made sence to me.

List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

1, Hawkeye - Made into a single point talent, move it back into MM tree in place of Aimed shot.

2, Aimed shot - no longer being a requirement for mortal shots, simple solution really and makes more sence to me would be to swap them round where you need 5/5 mortal shots to get aimed shot or see number 1 improvement suggestion.

3, Freezing Trap - Would like to see this made a more realiable form of CC in raids and instances, make the duration of trap a set time limit similar to mages sheep or warlocks banish.

4, Distracting shot - Make this a guarenteed aggro shot, something we can use for solid aggro when trapping or kiting.

5, Animal Handler - I feel the +hit for pets could be made much higher on this talent espcially with how deep into the tree it is, maybe 5% and 10%

At the moment, I most *enjoy* 5 & 10 person PvE instance content and the BGs for PvP.

Three areas of improvement

Escape abilities: other classes are notable for having untalented escape abilities that can act to put them beyond the reach of or in the range of several opponents (e.g. fear or blink). A hunter that is attacked by more than one opponent has no ready, untalented means to escape that situation: Frost trap comes closest but because it does not break CC on the hunter or help physically move the hunter, it's often just a useful way to annoy the people who dog pile you.

Talents: our talent trees are functional at the moment but there are too many glaringly weak options and one that is so strong for it's tier, it dominates the vast majority of player talent selections (Mortal Shots). Survival is noteably top heavy on damage talents and has awkward progression.

Pets: there are too many pets that still do not provide a viable alternative to the most commonly used families and there is the stable slot limitation issue. Pet vulnerability in PvP either has to be dealt with via scaling/trainable resilience and/or a general reduction in the mana cost and time of ressing them.

List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

1. Mortal Shots
2. Concussive Barrage
3. Pathfinding
4. Improved Feign Death
5. Immolation Trap

* List your primary talent tree(s), i.e. Holy/Disc.

MM spec, was BM until 2 days ago.

* List the content you're primarily pursuing or most enjoy, i.e. Raiding, PvP, Solo, etc...

Pvp, a few arena games a week, solo play, levelling alts,

* Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement (you may list a maximum of three issues and each issue should be described in one or two sentences).

Unless I spec 41 points into BM it is pretty much impossible to get out of melee range. The trinket is good but a warrior will just hamstring again or a rogue will just stun. We don't need something to make us immune to this like the beast within, but just something that can help us get out of these tight spots, mages have blink, warriors have charge, locks & priests have fear, druids have travel form, rogues have vanish. Hunters need to go 41 points into BM to get away from a hamstring happy warrior.

Would be nice if pets scaled a bit better, getting some resilience and crit would make them a bit better in pvp, wouldn't make them op but let them live a bit longer. This was a problem when i was BM, my pet would die very easily and i'd be next to useless.

Pet aesthetics - Would be very nice to be able to customise our pets to make them a bit like OUR pets rather than just another pet. Making some more varied beasts in outlands would be nice too. To get alot of the special good looking pets you need to go back to azeroth, i'm levelling up a level 20 ghost cat from darkshore because there are no really good looking pets in outlands.

* List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

Readiness - really not worth 41 points, a lowering in cooldown could beef it up a bit.

Flare - not really that useful since the cooldown was increased, would be nice to have it reverted. Very rarely actually unstealths people.

Trueshot aura - would be nice if it scaled with AP eg: 100 AP and a % of AP or something.

MM/SV 42/19.

I prefer pvp both bgs and arenas. But I raid aswell when I can fit it into my busy schedule. Been to kara/ssc/eye and looking forward for some ZA.

Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement
Pet diversity.
There is to few valid pet races to choose from if you don't want to put yourself at a disadvantage, especially in pvp where you'll have to go either with ravager or scorpid. I also thing every pet should have it's own set of abilities - at least bears. :p

Pet problems.
Pets don't really scale well with things like +hit/crit etc, and agi is less worth than atp which is a problem for survival hunters.

Mana problem.
I never really paid attention to it untill I was survival for a while, but running out of mana can be a real pain and it's happening extremely fast on some specs especially bm.

List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement
Stings.
Too high mana cost too little benefit. One example is viper sting, don't get me wrong I like my little scorpid but I'd still like to be able to drain dispellers without it and that's just not possibly with viper sting in it's current form.

Mortal Shots.
It's one of the most important hunter talents, and it's pretty far down in the MM tree making variations of Beast/survival specs fairly unattractive.

Master Tactician.
It's not very useful in pvp and while readiness could have it's uses I'd never go that deep in the survival talent tree aslong as I intend on going to arenas.

Expose Weakness.
I like it, but a raid only "really" benefits from one survival hunter and that's sort of silly.

Q.1 List your primary talent tree(s), i.e. Holy/Disc.

A. Beast Mastery/Marksman 40/21

Q.2 List the content you're primarily pursuing or most enjoy, i.e. Raiding, PvP, Solo, etc...

A. At the moment I mostly enjoy a bit of everything, Casual raiding, Casual PvP BG/Arena
And a bit of city world raiding on the side :]

Q.3 Provide a brief description of the areas you feel are most in need of improvement (you may list a maximum of three issues and each issue should be described in one or two sentences).

A.
(a) Melle Abilities. The lack of these abilites makes close combat a bit hard.
(b) Mana Issues. Is it possible to get a "focus" type system?
(c) Hunter Gear. I personaly think we get the worst looking gear of the lot. Newer models?

Q.4 List up to five specific spells/abilities/talents you feel most need change, redesign or improvement in the order you feel each is most in need of attention. (MOST to LESS)

A.
(a) Mortal shots. It should be made trainable so that we are not dependand upon the Marksman tree.
(b) Freezing Trap. Should be made chain trapable without the need for talents/set bonus. Diffrent CD for it than other traps maybe?
(c)Readiness. Good concept, bad place to put it, also should be made trainable. If not placed somewhere else in tree.
(d) Misdirection. Lower the cooldown, 1 Minute should do to make Hunters more viable in raids.
(e) Silence shot, increase duration and make it more viable in PvE.

I hope this helps.

Survival specced (0/20/41)

Mostly solo, then raiding. Occasional Battleground.

Areas of Improvement
1. Our lack of serious melee capabilities is terrible. Even spellcasters fight us in melee combat and we have no solid attacks here. At the very least, Counterattack please trainable, or a new effect to Mongoose Bite, e.g. disarm or reduces armor or hit rate.
2. Survival tree pulls the class away from ranged fighting, when we should be going the other way. Too much focus on traps and PvE, so not good for people like me who like PvE and PvP.
3. As hunters, we go for agility and crit, and therefore dont collect Intellect. As a result, we always have low mana pools and low mana regen. I would like to see a new type of secondary bar, maybe that regenerates on attacks or out of combat, to allow us to be able to use full dps throughout a fight and without us going overboard with them.

Changes to Abilities
1. Readiness is a waste of a 41-point talent. It is useful for Wyvern Sting and Deterrence, but has no other purpose. Would be nice if another feature was added, eg the next 10 secs or 5 attacks, no individual cooldowns will be set off.
2. Wyvern Sting has no use in raiding. It has been immuned by every enemy in kara that I have used it on (and that is LOTS). Would be nice to add a slow effect for raids, or at least let the DoT carry over if the sleep is unapplied.
3. Counterattack is a vital weapon for hunters, giving us a few seconds to escape melee combat. However, it is too low on the SV tree for most hunters, as they prefer to go for Mortal Shots and TBW. I would like to see This talent become a trained spell and replaced with a ranged CC (Spammable preferred to lure more hunters to SV). Would also be nice if Mortal Shots in MM would be moved to SV, or at least moved lower in its current tree to reduce the no. of hunters with it.
4. Explosive Trap and Volley both do very little damage, even to non-elites of a lower level. I would like to see them do a bit more damage or a new AoE-type ability to do some useful damage.
5. Freezing Trap should turn off the Hunter's auto-attack as well as the pet's if (s)he is targeting the freezing target. Either that, or replace with a new trap that only hinders movement (they can still attack) but allows us to continue damaging them without them moving (like a Bear Trap).

You kill dozens of hunters and you are happy.
ONE hunter kills you and you think we are OP.

Hunters are the only realistic class
Hence the class constantly owned by Wartlocks!
