Dear Blizzard,

By only allowing credit card payments in the blizzard store you are missing out on alot of potential customers whose spending is limited to using a direct debit account and paypal.

At first the store only sold old blizzard titles, those that I already burned trough back when they were released, I didn't bother with the store as it didn't have any interesting items until today, when you introduced the pet shop. I've been collecting pets for quite a while now, and ever since the pandaran monk and lil kt were data mined by fansites i've been dying to get my hands on them.

I'm quite certain that I'm not the only one interested in those pets or any other items offered in the store but without any viable payment option. So could you introduce some additional payment methods so that your fans can purchase some merchandise, can't hurt business.

With love,
Yanthe

Sucks to be a little kid doesnt it?

to own a credit card cost money.
at least where i live.
and it cost A LOT

and top of that, i would only use it for online buying,

reason for me, that i do not own 1

plus my wife does not like it also

however if i could use paypal, i prolly would to buy some online stuff.

to the point, it has nothing to do being a kid or not.

Players who buy Gold are supporting spamming, botting and keylogging. Activities that diminish the gameplay experience for everyone els.

Debit cards work, or at least mine does. Do banks still issue ATM cards that *don't* include a debit feature?

this made me chuckle

In the US credit cards are much more accepted then they are here, maybe that is it aswell. I have one for some random stuff i buy once in a while i've considered cancelling it, my gf who currently resides in the US buys everything with her credit/debit card.

At this time, the Blizzard Store accepts only credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). Select a credit card (or add a new one) to continue with your purchase.

Can't use Direct Debit, which i can use on all WoW features (race change etc)

My Visa Debit worked perfectly, so unless you have a debit card which is not covered by the brands listed, you should be fine.

I can't say I've ever used direct debit for an online purchase though, bills yes, online purchases no.

Credit cards are free, you just need a steady income to be allowed to get one.

Visa Electron works, that a debit card that you can get in most countries at the age of 15 (might be lower these days, this was back when visa electron was new).

Visa Electron is technically a credit card as it belongs to the credit companies. Only instead of paying afterwards you can only pay if you have money on your account. :D

Some, many even, credit cards come with monthly or annual fees in addition to the interest charged on balances. Not all credit cards are free or even cheap to own, whether you use them or not.

I believe mine costs me about 11 Euros per year to maintain. Not saying it's much, but it likely differs quite a bit from country to country.

I do agree with the OP though, even disregarding the fact that this game is meant for people 11/12+ years of age (that can't always access a credit card), I don't see any reason why it couldn't also be set up to include PayPal and possibly even several nationality-bound payment methods like iDeal.

Now I own a credit card and have no issues using mine for online payments, but keep in mind that a large part of the target audience may not have access to one.

Some people are like slinkies. They don't really have a purpose but they still bring a smile to my face when I push them down the stairs

If you live in Ireland, you can use 3V [ www.3v.ie ] - A Prepaid Credit card similar to topping up your phone's credit.

See if there's a similar service in your country.

We are talking about the store here, that only accepts credit cards as a form of payment.
And yes, in the EU credit cards are rare since we have no need for em apart from online purchases in rare occasions.

I totally agree with the OP and i've posted this before.
In my country in particular, several laws prevent people from just 'getting a card'.
Not that they can't handle it, the government try's to protect people who might get into trouble.

Not that i ever apply'd for a credit card (and i will never ever do so).... there's many many more alternative's and blizz really misses the boat here.

I'm not a Kid, i'm 26 years young. I've got my own house with a mortgage, i've got my own car, i can buy beer if i want, and in my country i can even buy drugs.

But i cannot even buy a blizzard authenticator to SECURE my account...

and both (2!!!!) mobiles arent supported for the blizzard mobile authenticator.

... you can bill me on my bank for account fee's, transfers etc... but your shop fails terribly

Heh...10 years ago it would be perfectly acceptable to open a webshop that only accepted credit cards, but come on, people - even my neighbour's 12 year old daughter's fun and hobby webshop offers more payment methods!
