And poster 2 (sorry don't know how to multiquote on these forums), why do we need to pick and choose, it just makes no sense to me why we must lock away certain parts.
So basically you want everything and not to have to use your mind to decide what you actually want to do?
If they allow Tri-Spec it will be a total joke .... i could be a tank, healer or DPS?? OMG why would you do that... it just means that people can be even more lazy than they are now and there will do NO tanks or healers out there as they will all just want to play as a DPS... oh wait we have that already, so it will just get worse!
You should do what myself and a lot of others I know have done and are doing... pick a main spec, then have a try at the others and see which is more beneficial to you, for example:
Selmack (80 Paladin) - Prot Main Spec / Retri Off spec atm.... currently collecting a holy set and will re-spec once I get my Argent Tournament dailies all done, if I don't like it i will go back to Retri, if I do like it.... I will re-spec as and when I need whichever spec
Tacara (80 Druid) - Boomkin Main Spec / Resto off spec atm... currently collecting a tanking set to give this a try ..... then I can chose which i prefer.
If they allowed Tri-Spec people would then want Quad-Spec for a PvP spec, I'm not here to offend, but too many players are lazy now, I'm not a hardcore raider, I'm a casual player who just groups up with friends to do what we can.... I brought Duel Spec for my DK as we were a tank short one night for naxx, and I had been collecting a set of armour so decided to give it a try, even though I didn't really want him to be a tank, it was needed and I gave it a try.. i can say I don't like it, but I still do it if required.

Tank can't PvP
Erm... yes they can... although I haven't done much PvP on Selmack, when I do, I do it in tank spec and gear.... and tanks can be very effective in PvP if you play them right. You just need to take the time to learn your character and their abilities and what work's best in what situations. You don't HAVE to have a PvP spec... just know what your doing!
Unfortunately the other posters are right... L2P before you complain that you want things easier.
