I did initially so that, but for some reason it got moved to off topic. I have no idea why as all the content was completely wow related and not something people on the off topic forum would like to read. My last thread also got moved to raids and dungeons, but seeing as the blog is about different things I couldn't just update that thread. So I guess this is a plea to blizzard: please keep this thread in this forum! That way I will just update one thread and it will help keep the forums clean and tidy.

Thanks for the kind words!

Just in PuGs. General lack of dragon-controlling makes this instance a pain for newer players. Oh, and the lazer boss was a @*%#* to heal as a Paladin when you only had blues...

Asrial - 80 Paladin, Asrialt - 80 Shaman, Holynips - 80 Priest & Rootbear - 80 Druid

The instance is crap in general, playing a character with a grand total of 5 (4? i forget) buttons isn't the reason i pay for WoW, the colour scheme is far too blue and sparkly for my personal taste, and large packs of ranged mobs are a pain in the ass to tank as a druid, regardless of whether they actually need to be tanked or not.

Oh, and as you mentioned, being in a pug with bad players in that place is a nightmare. Seriously surely it should be easier for the tards to control the dragons considering it only has 5 buttons tops?

But no, everyone gotta go pew pew AoE then die then blame everyone everything and of course the evil Blizzard 'cos it's just too hard

/rollseyes

If you try to pug this, there are so few who know what to do, that you're looking at 1-2hrs to complete it, and expect 5-6 wipes at last fight.

ONE THING that would improve occulus ALOT would be to make healing work same way as in eye of eternity (mylagos). Until blizzard fix occulus, I dont think I wanna go there.

Oculus is fine, really.
I never spend more than 30 min in the entire thing with pugs, not even with freshly dinged 80s in blues.

And i love how the green drakes works, they are alot more fun than just popping hots on people and hit healing bubble :/

Sorry, its just a l2p issue.

It was a lot harder when people were still new to vehicle fights, but it still has a reputation of being a pug killer.

Same reason why Malygos is so rarely pugged I guess.

Wrath of the Lich King release notes, addendum:
[Common Sense], [Politeness] and [Situational Awareness] are being discontinued and are no longer available in-game.

Oculus is fubar.

Not only because it's "hard" to pug at times, but first and foremost because i can't stand vehicle fights, since vehicles do not scale with your own strength. So Oculus, as a instance, nullifies character progress, which is what this game is (almost) all about. Which definitely is what instancing is all about imo.

That's a personal preference if course.
That being said, it's not like the last boss is even remotely hard to kill if you've got some grasp of the tactics whatsoever.

You adapt to a new tactic (like many other bosses, dont see you standing still at heigan).
Your combat ability increases with gear (like all the fights in the game)
Proper use of abilities leads to victory whereas random button smashing can and will lead to death.

Im sorry, you were saying?

theres always the one wise ass who thinks he needs to correct other peoples stated opinion and look smart by doing so isn't there.
I'm saying, for those in need of a spoon, that the dragons you use as form of transport and weapon to defeat the last boss of the Oculus scale barely and rather poorly with gear, and that only after patch 3.2.

Q u o t e:

Patch changes

Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): Drakes used by players in The Oculus and The Eye of Eternity will now scale in health and damage according to the rider's average item level.

Originally they didn't scale at all, thus nullifying your own character progress.
