0. What to do.. Shadowmourne or no Shadowmourne? 19/10/2009 06:11:45 PDT
So.. you think on my main I should save my DKP for Shadowmourne or spend some and risk another 2H melee dps overtaking me in dkp?
atm my gear item lvl is 226-245 (245 wep) and 200-226 rings/trinkets.
I know icecrown is a long way away but still not sure what to do =/
edit: ..and yeah.. I know shadowmourne isnt a drop but I mean for start item =)

Q u o t e: How do you know it's a 2hand?
because blizz said it was 2H axe at blizzcon
first they joked it was for DK's and hunters then they announced it was 2H axe with str, so hunters can use but it would be useless.. and that its for warriors, DK's and rets

Ghostcrawler:
Q u o t e: Anyone capable of using a two-handed axe can use Shadowmourne.
It would be a pretty cruel joke if it turned out to be a 1 hander, however, the above quote doesn't say it's definitely a 2 hander! ;)

I'd recommend against you doing so if your goal is to have the best weapon. It's likely that even if you get the initial item with your DKP, it'd be months before you have the finished item. If you want instant gratification, just use your DKP on normal weapon upgrades.

I'm guessing that when Shadow's Edge drops, much like the Fragments in Uld, we'll have all applicable raid members simply roll on it. The winner then gets all related quest items/whatever for free in any subsequent raids.
Fairest way to do it by far.
(Saying that, we'd probably only let long time members roll, just to be sure that they wouldn't get half of the quest done then /gquit. Our GM is a DK though, so no worry of that :D )

We will just make a decision based on loyalty performance attendance etc. We always start new raid zones with new dkp pool anyway so dkp isnt an issue.
We wont let people roll for it in any case. Its not a hc green has to go to someone who deserves it.

Q u o t e: whoever uses dkp still anyway lol ^^
we just roll in my guild.
Meh isnt that simple. Rolls how? For example if you win all you can get 4-5 items before another DK of equal performance attendance and contribution to the guild? Thats not right.
The best is loot council but in order to make it work correctly you have to place way to much effort in it (know the gear of your people keep track of what they have already gotten etc).
Dkp is simple. Does have flaws ofc in terms of rewarding even the slackers sometimes.

With the risk of going offtopic, any loot system in which loot is disenchanted is a loot system that fails. End of story. DKP in itself only works if people play utterly selfish, and promotes hoarding of DKP at the expense of the raidforce strength. It's capitalism gone bad*. Loot council or "sensible rolls" is the way to make a raid succesful.
*Please note, I don't consider capitalism to be bad. I however consider "capitalism done wrong" bad.
