Q u o t e:
You do indeed get a menu, I'm not sure if you have a separate password for each account after that unfortunately. I can't really test it myself as I only have a single account.

Thanks again :)

That would solve my problem ..
But before I start converting, I do need to know whether I still can secure the separate accounts by a password for each account.

If only I could find this information somewhere ..
The FAQ doesn't say anything about this.

Q u o t e:
There's also an interesting "flaw" in the design of this bloody circus :

I'm playing WoW with my two sons, so bought three(3) boxes and use three(3) separate accounts.

In the past (the classic way), I registered those three separate accounts using ONE email address (the one we use for our family - sounds logical, doesn't it).

Interesting fact now is, that I need to create three(!!) Battle.net accounts and the design is such that I now ALSO NEED THREE(!!) email accounts ..

If you put everything under ONE email address, you can play only ONE client at a time ..

Thank you Blizzard :(

PS
I would love to see a "blue" commenting on this ..
It is simply untrue. I have 4 WoW accounts under my single Battle.net account, and I am able to log in to all four at one time should I wish.

Q u o t e:

That would be nice, but I have to log on with an email address and I have only one ..
What happens next then ? A menu where I have the option to choose from the three accounts ?
Precisely that. :)

Many thanks for your reply :)

One question remains, though : a password AFTER the choice of accounts, when passed the battlenet email logon. I wouldn't want to give my kids access to my account, or eachothers account (that's even against Blizzard's rules !)

I will send you a box of quality chocolates if you can confirm this :)

I believe the first time you log in you would enter your email and password, then select an account. Each time after that, you select the account from a drop down then enter the password. If you wish to forbid access to the various accounts, you will need separate battle.net (and e-mail) accounts.

you can have several seperate WOW accounts linked to the same Bnet email, I think you just pick which one when you sign into WOW.

There's a party in my mouth and everyone's playing death knights, ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!

That's well known and also clearly written down in the FAQ.

What the FAQ does NOT mention is, whether it is possible to register different unique accounts under one Battlenet account and then play those accounts AT THE SAME TIME on different computers. A blue post, this afternoon, did answer that question : YES that's possible.

What the FAQ also does NOT mention is that every account you put under one Battlenet account, is being protected by their respective password. A blue post, this afternoon, did answer that question as well : YES every account has its own password, behind the Battlenet logon.

All this makes it possible to use ONE email address to logon to the Battlenet account and then to provide myself and my children separate and individual access to the "old/original" unique WoW accounts.

And that's what I was looking for, because I only want to use our shared family email account and not three separate email accounts to logon to Battlenet ..

This is not true. There is no password beyond the initial battle.net credentials; mine doesn't ask for it anyway, but whether it's because the 1 out of 2 accounts is inactive is the cause of that remains unknown, but I wouldn't count on it.

Sum up: 1 battle.net account, potentially several wow-accounts, 1 set of username/password.

Wrong, I think you should try reading the post again. I have two WoW accounts linked to my B.NET account and there is no seperate password, it is ONE logon and ONE password.

You got that wrong, also Ancilorn didn't explain it quite throughly. You get asked for the separate account passwords only when you merge them. After that, you only need the Bnet account pw. to log in into all 3.

Soooooo.

What about people like me who just don't want to have to change? Theres no reason I SHOULD change, thus why force it? I don't want a battlenet account, I never signed up for one in the first place as I only wanted to play WoW, not the other rubbish Blizzard makes or w/e. Leave my account alone tyvm.

Oh I will do it if I have to, you condescending fool. I just do not see any reasoning for making this change and forcing it upon us. I've never had a Battlenet account and I don't want one.

Because the game is moving on.

Correction: It's not _me_ being wrong, but our blue Blizzard so-called support staff that bull!!%#ted me about this.

Let me quote our blue friend Ancilorn :
-quote

-unquote

CLEARLY he's talking about entering a password AFTER the email/password initial logon.

You're the third already that told me that it can't be true what that guy explained to me, so he should be fired for misleading his customers. :(

Good thing I didn't start the conversion yet !

So I'm still stuck with the fact that I have to use a separate email account for every WoW account we have in our family.

Good Job Blizzard ! - NOT -

PS
Perhaps another blue could comment on this please?
Someone who DOES know how it works, this time.

Careful mate, next month you won't be able to logon anymore, if you don't convert to Battlenet.
Blizzard WILL go ahead with it, and the ones that don't want to convert : tough - that's how they operate with 12+ million accounts.. you could quit, but losing a few thousand accounts doesn't hurt them.
