(There is a question below my rant so check that out :p)

RANT
I am really getting sick of online stores (or anyone) treating a euro as a dollar.... to get the technical side out of the way: 1 Euro = 1.48 Dollars (as of time of writing and has been similar so for ages). They are charging 10 euro in EU and 10 dollars in US. (for the pets)

This means that while we pay 10 euro in Europe, in the US they only pay 6.72 euro. Or in other words the US gets their pets 33% cheaper then we are.

Now I have no clue how much game cards over there (US) but I really hope it ain't 27 dollars/2months as I am paying for mine.... (I'm paying 27 euro/2months)

Either way, these are just small figures, but it adds up, especially if you buy something expensive online and they just think euro's are dollars...
/RANT

Question:
Can I just buy the US versions and use those codes on my european account and thus get the "non discriminating" price ? (it works with loot card codes)

You can actually just purchase them from the US store for $10, they get added to your account without a problem.

$10 is worth as much in America as 10euros is in Europe.

ye but 10$ isn't worth as much as 10 euro's for us and Blizz is american so it also ain't worth the same for them. Free market, globalization , etc... All the things that make your reply not so useful in our modern world. but than again there is always the solution not to buy them at all saving you 10 euros ^^

Yeh, I found the price disgusting when comparing it to the American cost.
I'm from England and it costs me £9, (10.02 Euros).

Currently 10USD = 6.04GBP, so I feel I'm being overcharged £3!
Might not seem much but the fact everything seems cheaper for the Americans even when we're buying digitally infuriates me.

You do realis ethat when you make a transaction on a credit / debit card in a different currency that it is based on, you pay a very high currency conversion rate, and also the card issuer usually charges a fee on top of that.

For example Barclaycard charge 2.75% comission on foreign currency transactions,

Ok in the case of $10 its 28cents, so not a lot in this case, but a heads up incase anyone is considering a major purchase in $ rather than sterling or euro

Ok I must ask where in the hell did you people learn to read?

What he said was $10 is worth as much in America as 10euros is in Europe.

What he meant you absolute retards who jumped down his throat, is that from your pay that you receive every single month, 10 euro is worth as much to you as 10 dollars is to an american. Blizzard like allot of companies looks at what portion of your pay can they charge, enough that it is worth it to buy. That you can enjoy the game and it not take too much of your income if you say don't have allot.

The Exchange rate means nothing, because it changes it goes up and down, but that price stays the same. So if tomorrow the euro was to tank, and drop down to be worth lets say 10euro = 1 dollar americans would then be ##%**ing because to them you pay almost nothing for the game, but to you it still feels like 10 euro.

So learn to read before you jump on someone, or better yet take a world economy course that isn't out to teach you about a world economy as one world with different money, but about business in a world economy where we have different moneys and different countries .

This is called set pricing, and it protects a company from going bankrupt in an economy that is changing out of control.

No, I've had issued a credit card in our national currency, and I was paying for WoW in Euros and buying from steam in dollars, and the charged sum was never significantly higher than my calculation with conversion rate.

$10 is worth something like 6.77 Euro. I think I know what you mean though, you mean that the $10 will buy you as much in America as the 10 euros would in Europe, with not much difference in the amount of goods you can purchase. No idea if that is the case or not though as I cba to check :P

You were actually one of the few that did get what he meant. read my post above, and remove the mean evil part as it was not to you.
