Most things created in our time is just a remake of a copy of a similarity of a mythology, history or past event.
I can see the similarity between the Nox city and Dalaran but I don't think that's where Blizzard got their inspiration.
In further similarity between Stargate and Warcraft I could draw a likeness between the city of Atlantis and Dalaran, first because of the bubble that protected Dalaran from invasion between the events in Warcraft 3 and the release of WotLK (Atlatis Shields) and the fact that both can move anywhere with enough power put into it (In Dalarans case the mages, in Atlantis' case the ZPMs)
Not to mention the Ancients from the Stargate universe reminds me of the Titans from the Warcraft universe.

Nope it's the Nox hidden city.
There are so many references to WoW in Stargate, I'm surprised there aren't more SG references in WoW
Such as the scientist dude who had a level 72 mage with 3 professions before WotLK, that must have driven the pedantic nerds crazy!! actually I think that episode was filmed just before or around the TBC release as he did mention getting a beta for the new expansion.
Just seen the first 2 episodes of Universe earlier, it's looking good! Hopefully we'll get some Begbie moments!!

The scene with that scientist DID upset me! And I love Dr Wiers respons to his question
"What race are you?"
"....Mage"
And the episode where him and Carter go through a portal and the first thing he says is
"Wow.. this looks just like Elwynn forest.."
Also I should add that the new series does look promising, I wonder what's gonna happen next. And is it just me or is Dr Rush completly and utterly awesome?

Dalaran must have been ripped from Gulliver's travels because both have flying cities.
They proved that if you quit smoking it will prolong your life. What they haven't proved is that a prolonged life is a good thing. I haven't seen the stats on that yet.

If you go to The Storm Peaks and seek Brann Bronzebeard at the bottom of that thingie (I can't remember the name now). North east from the Frosthold. At the bottom, under the ice there's something that looks like a stargate. If it is, it's a brilliant reference if you ask me.
