Faction change FAQ part 1 and 2

Faction Change FAQ part 1

Further information on this service can be found in the Faction Change FAQ part 2 and in the Faction Change section of our website.

What is the Faction Change service?
Our Faction Change service is designed to allow existing characters the opportunity to change their designated faction (from Horde to Alliance or Alliance to Horde).

How do I begin the Faction Change process?
To begin the faction change process, please visit your Account Management page, select the "Faction Change" option and carefully follow the instructions provided.

How much does this service cost?
Each faction change costs 25.00 Euros or 20.00 Pounds. This covers a single faction change for a single character.

Can I change multiple character's factions at once?
No. The Faction Change service only allows one change per transaction. If you would like to change multiple character's factions, you will need to pay for each one separately.

At what level can I change my character's faction?
Characters level 10 and above apart from Death Knights which must be level 60 and above are eligible for a faction change.

Will PvP realm restrictions prevent me from changing a character's faction?
No. PvP realms no longer possess any faction-based restrictions. You may now play Horde and Alliance characters on any realm you wish.

Will this service allow me to customize my character and select a different name once its faction has been changed?
Yes. Each faction change purchase will also provide the target character with an included re-customization and optional name change.

When I change factions, can I select any race for my character?
You may select any race of your new faction provided that it is available for your character's class.

Does that mean I can use this service to change my character back to its original faction?
Absolutely; however, this will require purchasing another faction change.

When I change my character back to its original faction, can I select any new race?
Yes. As noted previously, though, you will only be able to select a race that is available to your character's class.

Will I be able to select Cataclysm races and class combinations for my character once they're available in game?
Details are not available at this time. As development continues, though, we hope to provide more information.

How often can I change a character's faction?
You may change your character's faction every 60 days.

What happens after I initiate a Faction Change?
Once your payment has processed and after you have remained logged out of the game for at least 30 minutes, you will see a new button to the left of your character's name upon next login. Clicking on this button will allow you to select your character's new faction and race, as well as customize your character's look and name. These steps will greatly resemble the character creation process.

To complete your faction change, press the "Accept" button and confirm your selections. If you do not wish to change your character's faction immediately, you may do so at a later time.

What will happen to my character's old name?
If you opt to change your character's name, the name will be locked from use on your realm for 90 days. You are not required to change your character's name, though; this is simply an option we provide included within the faction change.

What will happen to my character's equipment when I change its faction?
Equipment which is not considered faction-specific will remain unchanged by this process. Faction-specific equipment, however, will be automatically exchanged for a cross-faction equivalent. You can view a full list of faction-specific equipment and their cross-faction equivalents here.

**Please note that neither enchants nor socketed gems will be affected by an exchange.**

Will the rest of my inventory (materials, alternate currency, etc) be affected in any way?
As with equipment, items which are not considered faction-specific will remain unchanged by this process. Faction-specific items will be exchanged for a cross-faction equivalent. You can view a full list of faction-specific items here.

What will happen to my character's mounts when I change its faction?
Mounts which are not considered faction-specific will remain unchanged by this process. Faction-specific mounts will be exchanged for a cross-faction equivalent. You can view a full list of faction-specific mounts and their equivalents here.

What will happen to my character's non-combat pets when I change its faction?
Non-combat pets will not be affected by this process and will be available once the character's faction change completes. This even includes faction-specific non-combat pets.

What will happen to my character's achievements when I change its faction?
Achievements which are not considered faction-specific will remain unchanged by this process. Faction-specific achievements will be exchanged for a cross-faction equivalent. You can view a full list of faction-specific achievements and their equivalents here.

What will happen to my character's titles when I change its faction?
Titles which are not considered faction-specific will remain unchanged by this process. Faction-specific titles will be exchanged for a cross-faction equivalent. You can view a full list of faction-specific titles and their equivalents here.

What will happen to my character's reputation levels when I change its faction?
Upon changing factions, the reputation level associated with your character's previous race will become the reputation level of your new race. All other racial reputations will be converted according to the following chart:

Orc (Ogrimmar) ↔ Human (Stormwind)
Tauren (Thunder Bluff) ↔ Gnome (Gnomeregan Exiles)
Undead (The Undercity) ↔ Night Elf (Darnassus)
Troll (Sen'jin) ↔ Dwarf (Ironforge)
Blood Elf (Silvermoon) ↔ Draenei (The Exodar)

Additional faction-specific reputations will be converted into their cross-faction equivalents (if a cross-faction equivalent exists). You can view a full list of qualifying faction-specific reputations and their equivalents here.

Faction neutral reputations will not be affected by this process, and faction-specific reputations which do not possess an equivalent will be lost.

Will I keep my Argent Tournament achievements and quest lines?

No. Please note that all achievements and quest lines relating to the Argent Tournament are reset when a character uses the Faction Change service. This means that returning to your original faction by making the reverse faction change will not grant the Argent tournament reputation back.

Further information on this service can be found in the Faction Change FAQ part 2 and in the Faction Change section of our website.

Faction Change FAQ part 2

Additional information on this service can be found in theFaction Change FAQ part 1and in theFaction Change section of our website.

What will happen to my character's quests when I change its faction?
Quests which are active in your character's log at the time of your faction change will be cleared and all quest items associated with these quests will be destroyed.

With this, completed quests that are considered faction-specific will be removed from your list of completed quests and no longer count towards any running "quests completed" totals. Should you ever elect to change back to your original faction, your original list of completed quests will be restored. Completed quests that are considered faction-neutral or possess a cross-faction equivalent will be unaffected or automatically exchanged without any detriment to your quest completed totals.

What will happen to my character's flight paths when I change its faction?
All flight points associated with your character will be reset and you will receive a new list of flight points which are appropriate for your level and new faction.

What will happen to my character's Friends and Ignore lists when I change its faction?
Your character's Friends and Ignore lists will be reset following a faction change.

What will happen to my character's Guild and Arena team(s)?
You character will not be affiliated with any Guild or Arena team following a faction change. Guild and Arena team tabards will be removed and Arena team ratings will be reset as a result. If the character is a Guild Master, you will not be able to perform a Faction Change.

What will happen to my character's honor and Arena points?
Your honor points, Marks of Honor, and lifetime honorable kills will not be affected by this process. Earned Arena points will carry over, as well; however, any pending Arena points accrued after the last maintenance period, but before your faction change is initiated may be lost.

What will happen to my character's mail and auctions?
Active mail and auction items will prevent a character from faction changing, so please be sure to pull all mail from your mailbox and take down any auction items prior to initiating the faction change process. These items will be handled as normal inventory.

Is there a gold limit for faction changes?
Yes. Characters possessing too much gold for their designated level bracket will not be eligible for a faction change. Please use the following table as reference.

Level 10 to 30: 300 gold
Level 31 to 50: 1000 gold
Level 51 to 69: 5000 gold
Level 70 to 80: 20000 gold

Where will my character be located after the faction change is complete?
Once the faction change is complete, the character will be moved to the capital city of its new race.

What will happen to my character's Armory profile?
Once you have completed the faction change process, the character's Armory profile will be updated to reflect any faction, racial, gender, or name changes. Please note that our Armory system is still in beta at this time, so your

Character name change FAQ

Character Name Change F.A.Q.
How much does this service cost?
Each Character Name Change costs 250 RUB / 8 EUR / 6 GBP depending on your account type. This covers a single name change for a single character.
How often can I change my character's name?
You can change a character's name as many times as you like, but you will need to wait 30 days after the last name change became effective before you can change the name again.

What if the name I want is already in use?
Character names are unique on a per-realm basis. You cannot change to a character name that is already in use by another player on your realm.

What happens to my character's old name?
Once the name change is complete, your character's old name will be locked from use on the realm for 90 days. After that time, the old name can be claimed by anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to retain the use of that name you will have to reclaim it before anyone else does.

What about my guild and my friends?
Your character will remain in your guild, and you will remain on all friends lists for people who had added you. The only difference is that you will have a new name, so you should let your friends and guildmates know it's you.

Can people use this feature to get off my Ignore list?
No. Characters whose names are changed will remain on your ignore list, but their names will be updated automatically.

Will this affect mail or auctions for my character?
Your existing mail and auctions will not be interrupted or cancelled, but you should let your friends know before you make the change, so they don't send new mail to the old name.

Can I change multiple character names at once?
The Character Name Change service only allows one change per transaction. If you would like to change multiple character names, you will need to pay for each one separately.

What will happen to my Armory Profile?
Once you have completed the Character Name Change process, your Armory profile will be updated to reflect your character's new name.

I am attempting a transfer. Why does it say that my character is still logged into the game?
Please allow at least 20 minutes after logging out of the character before beginning the Character Name Change process.

When will I be charged for the name change?
For the Character Name Change process, you will be charged immediately upon pressing the confirmation button indicating your willingness to purchase the name change.

Is there any way to cancel the name change while the process is pending?
Because you are charged immediately upon confirmation, you cannot cancel the name change once you have pressed the confirmation button and the name change process is underway.

What happens if my payment is refused or fails temporarily after choosing a name?
If your payment fails for whatever reason, the name of your character will not be changed. The name will, however, be reserved for 90 minutes to allow you time to reattempt the process. To access your reserved name, you must simply repeat the name change steps from the first page of the Character Name Change application as normal, selecting the same name.

Character transfer

Paid Character Transfer FAQ

What is the Paid Character Transfer feature?

The Paid Character Transfer feature allows you to move characters to other realms as well as between two accounts where you are the owner, subject to certain restrictions. The cost of each paid character transfer is 20€ / £15.

Does this mean I can now transfer my characters to any realm I want?

You will be able to transfer to any realm providing your Paid Character Transfer meets the following restrictions:

Standard Restrictions:
• A character's mailbox and auctions must be completely empty before that character can be transferred.
• A character that is the leader of a guild may not be transferred as long as he/she remains the leader. If you wish to transfer a character that is currently a guild leader you must transfer leadership to another member or disband your guild.

Character restrictions:
· Every character to be transferred has to be at least level 10.
· Deathknights cannot be transferred before level 60
· Characters carrying too much gold are not eligible for transfer, as follows:
- Level 10-30: 300 gold limit
- Level 31-50: 1000 gold limit
- Level 51-69: 5000 gold limit
- Level 70+: 20000 gold limit

· An individual character may only be transferred once every 3 days.

Realm restrictions:
· You may only transfer characters to a realm as long as you will not exceed the maximum of ten characters per realm at your destination once the transfer is complete.
· Realms that frequently have queues and/or regularly show a high concurrency may be taken off the list of eligible destination realms to prevent overpopulating realms through character transfers.
· You may not transfer to a realm that is not at least 90 days old.

How do I transfer one of my characters to another realm?

Simply log on to the account-management section, click the Paid Character Transfer button, and follow the on-screen instructions. During the process you will be asked for your credit card information. Please note that this is for verification purposes only. Your credit card will not be billed until you have completed the paid character transfer process.

Once you have entered the necessary information and confirmed the transfers you will receive a confirmation email. Also, the characters you signed up for transfers will be unavailable until the process finishes, which should take no more than five days. When the transfer has finished, you will receive another email with instructions on how to complete the process. Follow these instructions, and your characters will be available and ready to play on the new realm.

Can I transfer my Deathknight to another realm?

Yes, but currently it is only possible to move Deathknight characters to another realm once it has been levelled to at least level 60. We may remove this restriction at a later date, but have no plans to do so now.

I signed a character up for a realm transfer, but it's still on the old realm and I can't play with this character anymore. What's going on?

Character transfers may take up to five days to process. You won't be able to play the characters you signed up for a transfer during that time. Once you've completed the transfer process as described above, your characters will appear on the destination realm, ready to continue your adventure.

I get an error message saying that my character still has items in his mailbox and therefore cannot be transferred, but my mailbox is empty.

If you see this error message even after you've cleared out your mailbox, then this probably means that you still have inbound mail that hasn't arrived yet. Some quests generate mail to your character, or perhaps someone sent you a package that just hasn't arrived yet. Simply wait until the mail arrives, clear your mailbox, and try again. Contact the in-game support if the problem persists.

Why can't I transfer a character immediately after logging out of the game?

After logging out of World of Warcraft, no character(s) will be available for transfer for up to 20 minutes. After being offline for 20 minutes, players can begin the Paid Character Transfer process.

What if my character's name is already taken on the destination realm?

In case of a naming conflict, you will be prompted to rename your character after the transfer is complete when you log into the new realm. Please be aware that any new name created for your character must comply with Blizzard's naming policy, found here: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/policy/namingp1.html

Can I transfer characters from one account to another?

Yes, you can transfer characters not just between realms but also between accounts where you are the original owner. To initiate a transfer between two accounts where you are the original owner, you will need to specify the account name associated with the account you wish to transfer a character to, and answer the 'secret question' for the source account. Without this information an account to account transfer will not be possible.

Please note that any attempt to transfer a character to or from an account where you are not the original owner could be considered a violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use and could lead to Blizzard taking disciplinary action against your subscription account(s), including but not limited to warnings, temporary account suspension, or permanent account suspension, as determined by Blizzard.

Who is eligible for account-to-account transfers?

Transfers between accounts are only allowed between accounts where you are the original owner. To initiate an "account to account" transfer, you will have to answer the 'secret question' for the source account, and the last name of each account holder must match.

Why is it set up that way?

Blizzard takes the integrity of its game and its account ownership very seriously. For this reason, the sale of characters and accounts is expressly against the World of Warcraft Terms of Use, and the transfer of characters from one account owner to another is prohibited.

Can I give one of my characters to a friend or guild mate?

No. You are only allowed to transfer a character to an account where you are the original account owner.

Can I transfer characters from one region to another (i.e. moving North American characters to European realms or accounts)?

No. Characters can only be transferred between realms and accounts within the same region.

Can I transfer characters from an account that is upgraded to The Burning Crusade or The Wrath of the Lich King to an account that is not upgraded?

No. Customers with expansion accounts cannot transfer characters to a non-expansion account. The reverse is accepted.

Is there any way to check the status of my character transfers?

Yes. Log on to the account-management section and click "access this service" in the Paid Character Transfer section. Select the realm you are transferring from in the drop down list and click 'Check Status" to the right of the name of the character you are transferring, and you will then be able to access a page that lists the details of all your pending, completed, and ineligible transfers. You can also use this overview to cancel pending character transfers before they are completed.

How do I cancel a pending character transfer?

You can cancel pending character transfers on the character transfer status page. Check the section containing your pending transfers and follow the on-screen instructions if you wish to cancel a pending character transfer.

If I don't like the new realm or change my mind, can I transfer back?

Once you have chosen to complete your transfer, you cannot reverse it. We strongly recommend you research your destination realm ahead of time to ensure it is a desirable long-term environment for you, before you initiate the transfer. The only way to move the character off the realm again would be to wait 3 days for that character to become eligible for another transfer.

Will I still have my Arena points?

Your arena points transfer with your character however your character will not have any arena team affiliation upon arrival at the destination realm or account.

Will all my stuff be transferred along with my character?

Your character will arrive on the destination realm with all the gold, equipment, pets, and all items in your characters' inventory and the bank. You will also keep all your bank slots, lifetime honor rank and ranking points. Quests will also be transferred, but please be aware that the progress for quests that require you to kill a certain number of monsters will be lost.

Will my guild status be transferred?

Your guild affiliation and tabard design will not be transferred. You will have to join or create a new guild on your destination realm.

Is there any discount if I am transferring more than one character?

We do not have a discount plan available at this time for multiple transfers. Should we offer any additional promotions or pricing options, they would be announced on our website.

Whom should I contact if I have questions about this service?

Please contact our billing department by phone or through our web form. Billing representatives are on hand to take your call Monday through Thursday between 10:30am and 08:00pm Central European Time, and Friday between 10:30am and 07:00pm Central European Time. Phone numbers for the Billing Department can be found on this page. Alternatively, you may contact the Billing Department through the web form with any transfer related questions.

Character re-customization FAQ

Character Re-Customization FAQ

What is Character Re-Customization?
Character Re-Customization is a paid service that lets you change an existing character's gender, face, skin colour, and other cosmetic features determined by his or her race and gender combination. When you perform a Character Re-Customization, you may also change the character's hair colour and hair style (similar to the in-game barbershop) and select a new name, if desired.

Can I change my character's race or class?
No, you cannot alter a character's race or class. You may only change cosmetic features of a character through Character Re-Customization.

How much does this service cost?
Each Paid Character Re-Customization costs 15€/£12. This fee covers all available customization options for a single character customization

How will my guildmates and friends know I customized my character?
The re-customized character will remain in the same guild and will stay on the friends lists of anyone who had added it. If you changed the character's name, the new name will appear on friends lists in place of the old one, so we recommend you tell your friends and guildmates about the re-customization as soon as possible.

Can other players use this feature to get off my ignore list?
No. Characters whose names have been changed will remain on your ignore list, and their names will be updated automatically.

Will this affect a character's mail or auctions?
Existing in-game mail and auctions will not be interrupted or cancelled. However, after you change a character's name, other players will need to send new mail to the new character name.

Can I customize multiple characters at once?
The Character Re-Customization service only allows one character to be customized per transaction. If you would like to customize multiple characters, you will need to process and pay for each one separately.

What will happen to the character's Armory profile?
Once you have completed the Character Re-Customization process, the Armory profile will be updated to reflect the character's new look and name.

When will I be charged for the customization?
You will be charged immediately upon pressing the confirmation button on the Character Re-Customization page.

Is there any way to cancel the re-customization while the process is pending?
Because the credit card is charged immediately upon confirmation, you cannot cancel the process once you have pressed the confirmation button and the character customization process is underway.

After I've paid, how do I go about selecting the new gender, face, name, and so on for the character?
After your payment has been processed, you will see a new button when you log in to World of Warcraft that lets you re-customize the character's features (and name, if desired) at your convenience. You do not have to re-customize the character immediately.

Are there any brand-new faces, horn styles, or other cosmetic options available only through Character Re-Customization?
No. The face, skin colour, and other cosmetic options available through Character Re-Customization are the same as those already available to players at character creation.

What if the name I want is already in use?
Character names are unique on a per-realm basis. You cannot choose a character name that is already in use by another player on the realm.

If I change the character's name, what happens to the old name?
Once the name change is complete, the character's old name will be locked from use on the realm for 90 days. After that time, the old name can be claimed by any player on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to use the name again, you will have to reclaim it before anyone else does after the 90 days have passed and the name is made available again.

Can I change my character's appearance and name again if I want to?
Yes, but after completing a Character Re-Customization, that specific character cannot have his or her appearance or name changed again for 30 days. After 30 days have passed, you would need to purchase another Character Re-Customization or Paid Character Name Change if you would like to choose a new appearance or name. For more information on Paid Character Name Changes, please refer to our FAQ.

Is there any way to revert to the character's original name after Character Re-Customization is completed?
Once you have selected the confirmation button to complete your name change, there is no way to immediately revert back to the old name. The old name is locked from use on the realm for 90 days, and you will have to perform another Character Re-Customization or Paid Character Name Change after the name is made available again. For these reasons, and because the Character Re-Customization charge is immediate and non-refundable, please be certain of your selection before you complete the process.
