To access the test realms:

1. Delete the WoWTest Folder from any previous PTRs.

2. Insure that you have a fully-installed version of the latest World of Warcraft Retail client. The installer executable will be using your registry files and game data to create the PTR Client.

2. Browse to http://www.wow-europe.com/ptr/ to obtain the PTR installer downloader or click the Public Test Realm button on your WoW Launcher. Copying your character can also be initiated from this URL.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to obtain the PTR Installer downloader. (1 MB download)

4. Run the downloader to obtain the Installer executable file. (107 MB download)

5. Run the executable file you downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions to install the PTR Client. Note: you must install OUTSIDE your World of Warcraft Retail folder. Any location with sufficient space will do.

6. After installation, you can access the PTR client by clicking the Public Test Realm button on your retail WoW's Launcher. Optionally, there is also a new item in your Start Menu called World of Warcraft Public Test that you can run.

The PTRs are using a new system wherein a permanent copy of the game client can be kept on your hard drive. As you connect to the Public Test Realm, the latest build of the PTR will be automatically downloaded to your computer. There's no more need to delete your WoWTest folder between PTRs or download new builds! It will all be handled from this one installation from now on.
