Sorry folks, but all this Tauren paladin/priest, Orc and Dwarf mage and Troll druid thing is like a sushi roll filled with Bratwurst, ingested and "returned to the sender". The whole feeling of the Warcraft universe will take a gigantic shot to the head with this change.

This comes from a player who sticked with the Warcraft games since Warcraft 1. An epic cascade of never before seen fail will descend upon WoW, and drown all of it's feel in laughability.

Let me get this straight. If Blizzard says it works, it does. It may sound silly, none the less it's their story and they can do whatever they want with it. If they have any reason at all to implement for example Tauren Paladins then you'll just have to bite the sour apple and swallow. It does make as much sense as a Tauren Warrior or Druid if Blizzard says so.

Or you can quit.

Seriously people, troll priests?
Do you know how hard Blizzard is killing lore right now by adding that?

OH WAIT!

To avoid innuendo the Wii should´ve been called the Perfect Nintendo Entertainment System, or pnes for short.

Not nearly as much of a lorelol as Tauren Druids. And I hear they're not limiting Night Elf classes based on character gender! What's up with that?

Forgot about those.
Seriously, Blizzard is gonna lose a lot of subscribers if they put through these ridiculous changes.

most people who say they will quit will continue to play anyway. I highly doubt people will quit playing because a certain race can become a certain class in Cataclysm.

I got a little carried away, and thus became an easy target to troll. Anyway, to me at least, the feel of the game was what kept me going. Got bored of the gameplay itself long ago. Sure it's Blizzard's game, sure, they can even implement Doomguard rogues if they want. It's their choice to change the game in any way they see fit.

Seems though people like me aren't just Blizzard's target group any more with WoW. But you know? Ultimately it's about the experience. Many factors are counted in with that: gameplay, replayability, complexity, the feel of the game among them. Me? Bored of the gameplay, exhausted the replayability, turned to other games for complexity. Don't get me wrong though, WoW was and is a fantastic game.

The Feel is what's got me going for this game way back over three years ago, and now that it's gonna be altered a tad bit too far to my taste... well... It's not the experience I want to have. Plain and simple.

When you put it like that I have to say I understand what you were going for. I don't agree though but that's a matter of personal taste ;-)

Aye, personal taste it is. I guess it's also a matter of liking the previous games too much, was a kid back when they came out, the impressions they left were pretty strong. You know, the "Those were the days..." type of thing. These new class changes just don't fit into the picture for me, got the feeling it was all, well, vandalised, for lack of a better term.

I agree with the OP.
I however will not come back :)
Lost the taste for the game, nothing to do with classes but the simplification of everything.
Just not many choices left to make.
That was what was fun for me in the beginning. Choices now are nearly non existant

Warrior 80,Priest 80, Deathknight 80, Paladin 80, Hunter 80, Rogue 71, Shaman 38, Druid 80
Main?? what the hell is that

Thanks (again) for making me grin. ;-)

We appreciate some people seemingly have a very rigid view of Warcraft lore, but we feel it is something that is fluidic and ever evolving, much like the very best storylines are. We do not feel trapped and restrained by the past, we feel much like in the real world the past is something that we can both draw upon, and build on. And this is what we are doing. You can see already from the breadcrumb style quests we have already in game for holier Tauren and a return-to-the-arcane Night Elf, there are ways of introducing (or indeed re-introducing) these elements into both the game and the lore.

You, blue mister, deserve a cookie and a promotion, because you're good at what you do. The introducing of new elements into the lore with the use of small steps is indeed a good way of putting them in, without the use of deus ex machina devices, that generally leave a lot of people stunned and in disbelief.

However, as I previously said, many of the things that are being introduced, in the broader spectrum of the feel of the game, are damaging it. Connections are made in places that are baffling. Of course, there are ways to explain these changes that can fit the lore, however, and this is a feeling that's been with me since the release of The Burning Crusade, the changes applied are not fluid. They are too strong, too striking, and when examined from a wider point of view, they look awkward. This leads to an impression of, well, clownishness.

As a player who remembers paladins being an exclusively human thing, and the general impression back then was that this would never change, and now seeing Tauren paladins, regardless of the explanation, it boggles the mind. I swear if someone said to me this was going to happen six years ago, I'd call that person a loony at best.

Not before WoW. Only Night Elf males were druids.

Heck, in WC2, the Orcs were warlocks and then they were shamanistic in WC3.

That's the point the one you quoted was trying to make, that this outcry is silly when the Warcraft lore was always progressive and not stale. There are always things happening on Azeroth that forces to changes, just like in our world.

If priests can get the same powers from several different beliefs/religions, then why cannot paladins?

Hello, these blue posts tend to have some kind of cryptic code. I am here to translte it for you free of charge so you actually knows what he is saying.

We dont have a long term plan. We only have short term plan to maximize profit. This is one example.
I know we defended our class options to death in the past 5 years. But we are obliged to keep making profit and we are slowly getting out of ideas. So tauren druids, gnome priests, who the %@%@ cares anyways? BUY THE GAME you shrimps.

You are all welcome for this free of charge translation.

so why are there still no plans for troll warlocks even though trolls are the voodoo kings and loads of people have asked for them?
