After all these changes made to old world on the new expansion, one question remains bothering me more than others. What will be the fate of plaguelands after the Scourge falls and Cataclysm hits Azeroth? Who will claim those lands? I hope it would include rebuilding of Stratholme and other towns, resulting in a big conflict between humans and the Forsaken. That would suit the new expansion so well!

I really hope they have plans for this.

Some of the new "level progress" charts indicate the plaguelands being changed to a 45-50 zone at least. It could be it'll get the same kind of treatment as Desolace, with a beautiful green, grassy landscape again etc.

Your idea sounds pretty good actually, especially given how badly those zones suck for levelling at the moment.

Or indeed the Desolace treatment, that would be nice.

sounds good. This area seems to have good potential to cause more controversy between Alliance and Horde. Hopefully we get to see that soon enough!

Hmm I think it should look like Thirisfall/ Silverpine cos thats how a area where the undead have been mostly suppressed is supposed to look like. And Forsaken vs the Humans is a good idea. One more spark to light the HordevsAlie war.

Maybe western plaguelands could be sort of "Forsaken majority" and look like Tirisfal / Silverpine. Eastern Plaguelands would be mostly controlled by Alliance and restored to look like Elwynn. And PvP would play a major role there!

Unfortunately Forsaken are told to march against the Kingdom of Gilneas, but if humans will take over the plaguelands, the Blood Elves are just behind the corner. Since Amani trolls were dealt with, they aren´t in a huge confict with anyone (Draenei in EotS maybe, but that ain´t huge and surely ain´t threatening their homelands), there´d be a good chance to add something to bring up Blood Elfs as warriors they were ment to be (instead of swimsuitmodels with steroids/anorexia >.>).

In the side note, I love plague lands as they are, and I´d be sorry to see something so unique to be turned in to another "beautiful, grassy land with butterflies and happy people."

Well unless there is another lorelol incomeing its impossible. Blood elf starter area and the dead scar. Blood elves have tried everything from demonic to arcane and even natural magic to erase it ,all failed. It strikes me as impossible that a place so far gone as EPL could ever be restored to such a state as Elwyn

Remember that the Lich King will (most likely) have been dealt with.

I would really be pleased if the Plaguelands had began to heal. I mean the Plague Cauldrons and the like in Eastern Plaguelands have been neutralised and the Scourge threasts of Stratholme, Scholamance and Naxxramas are none existent. I see no reason as to why the land could not begin to heal.

I really like the way the Plaguelands looked before it became the Plaguelands in the Culling of Stratholme and it would be nice if they began to look somewhat more like that.

I think the Argent Crusade and Knights of the Ebon blade will both retake portions of the two zones.

Lordearon is going to be the new land for all to pillage and... wait, maybe not pillage as there's nothing left in it but certainly to fight for. The corruption should be gone in some 1000 years and then the land will be worth its weight in gold.

Right now we've got enough to think about with Northrend. It's still not settled who'll control Northrend: Horde or Alliance.

It's really intriguing wondering what exactly will happen to places like the Plaguelands. Will they be kept much as they are, even despite the nailing we all expect Arthas will receive, or will they be liberated and thus potentially becoming hotly contested by all the various races that may be interested in re-claiming the area for their own?

Blood Elf and Forsaken expansion, met with heavy resistance from Arathor and Stormwind.

Make it happen!

Throw in the Amani remnents, Cenarion Circle and Earthern Ring and you've got an interesting zone. : D

One thing is certain, it's going to be hard to sell the land to developers.

"and over to the west we have Lake Lordamere, where Arthas drowned over 10,000 puppies, kittens and bunnies. Over to the east we have the old farmland, where time is distorted and giant, time travelling maggots randomly appear and eat people. Over to the south we have the old lumber mill, but take care when foraging, because the trees have been known to eat people!"

I used to PvP in sponsored events on my Hunter, but I lost both my arms and half of my leg in the Army. Now I play a Death Knight instead.

Well according to this map:

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n219/leviathonlx3/CataclysmAzeroth.jpg

The EPL will be split into 2 zones (So probably Western, Central, and Eastern Plaguelands. ) with the west side being lvl 40-45 and the east being 45-50. Strangely no lvl 60 zone in northern EK but that's easily remedied. Personally I'm hoping the far Eastern Plaguelands will be atleast partly revitalized and renamed new Lordaeron.

I was always disappointed that there was no phasing possibility for WPL/EPL in a way that doing quests and cauldron runs would help ''heal'' the land.

Another thing that would be nice is if they would reintroduce the old factions: Cenarion Circle ans Argent Dawn, to name the most important ones.
