3 people waiting outside Dire Maul to enter the instance, all we see is -
"Additional Instances Can Not Be Launched"

I will wait until the second fix is applied tomorrow. If it is still unplayable, then dont really know what to do tbh :/

Hopefully, they fixed half of the problems today, and we can tell that it was actually possible to enter an Azeroth dungeon. Tomorrow this problem might even cease to exist. Pray to the gods.

Blizzard should treat instances as bg's aka => queues so you know when you will get in. Or a limit to a number of instances players can run or disable the 1-man runs of 40-man dungeon. With a queue you know when you can get in. Now it can be 5 minutes or 7 hours.

Was the second maintenance on 3am - 7am this Thursday, or will it be during the afternoon?

And, what does the reconfiguration do? Optimisation? Increasing total slots available?

I would like to hear some information from the people whose realms were given additional maintenance last night. Is the problem gone? Better?

My Warlock still needs to enter Dire Maul to do the Doomguard quest, I'd love to be able to do that this afternoon. :p

We'll know this evening.

On Outland you'd be stuck instance-humping for hours from 5pm to 1am

I portal-humped for 2-3 hours the other day at 11 in the morning. I think we're on the same battlegroup, which means we share instance servers, so let's just say that we probably understand eachother when it comes to not being able to enter instances.

Anyone got any update as to whether this has been sorted out yet? Am mainly interested in knowing about the Frostmane server ofc. Fancy getting home this evening and being able to actually run a few dungeuns.

What must newcomers to the game think? All wow factors until you reach the first dungeun and cannot get in. Does make you wonder where all our money goes.

I've just tried to enter Dire Maul and it would let me in immediately.

I took the test and ran out, reset and got back in, same deal.

This until I got this message:

[13:00:32] You have entered too many instances recently.

Now, I haven't seen this message in ages so I'm guessing the issue is fixed :)

@Victorian: Battlegroups do NOT share instance servers. Not until they make the cross server instances that is. Each server has its own farm of instance servers.

What I'm guessing is what they did during the wednesday maintenance: Re-order servers in the datacenter to allow for extra servers. Bring back the realms when everything, including the new servers are fixed in position. During the day they then can configure these new instance servers and bring them online during the thursday maintenance.

From what I've seen so far, no issues and all instances are available. Asked around a bit and nobody got the dreaded "Additional Instances cannot be launched" anymore.

Amazing that you are leaving your most popular and loaded EU server "Argent Dawn" to last...
it is so frustrating, espoecially low level instances, waiting time can be more then an hour.

Ideally you should have optimized the busiest realms first...

That would be far too sensible....think it was allocated with RNG :)

You can't really say this, it is in their interest (and ultimately ours) to minise risks of things going wrong. Fixing the lesser populated realms first is the only way to do it with minimal risk, as a customer we should respect this (although we may not like it).

I have been able to get into instances perfectly today, and "Hooray" it appears to be fixed.

HOWEVER -

I am going to give Blizzard one ALMIGHTY slap on the back of the hand (/SLAAAAAAAP) for allowing this situation to be ongoing for so long. It is really a bad service you have provided the last few months in terms of trying to do instances.

BUT -

I will give Blizzard credit for fixing it. (but it shouldnt of happened at all).

Soz but I do not agree, the way Blizz deploy updates is the same for a long time now, first - testing realms, once they happy with the patch on the testing realms, they deploy across all EU realms together - this case should be the same.

You can't "test" and update that intend to serve mostly busy realms on a non busy production environment, this doesn't make sence as these realms will not be able to simulate the problematic behaviour in full extent.

We wanted to inform everyone that we have implemented the instance capacity update on more realms this week. The multipart update took place during maintenance on Wednesday 26/08 (Phase 1) and during the short downtime on Thursday 27/08 (Phase 2), and has now been successfully completed on the realms listed below. We hope to perform both phases of future updates within a single week per batch of realms, as we have done this week, provided that no complications arise.

Boulderfist
Chamber of Aspects
Eonar
Frostmane
Grim Batol
Jaedenar

ok so some realms have been sorted, what about Lightbringer ?

I spent more time last few weeks trying to get into instances than actually managing to do some. I also notice Lightbrigner isint even on the list.

I personally don't mind to have either a long maintenance or more then one as long as this is sorted...
